This place is a gem and all the Chinese people know of its existence on the Penn/Drexel campus. For $ 3-$ 5 you can get a carton full of somewhat authentic(depending on the dish you order) Chinese food including a soft drink. It’s really busy weekdays during lunchtime when floods of international students and/or asian health science professionals hoard this truck, so if you order then expect a 15 minute wait. They now take phone orders so you can avoid this dilemma. During non rush hour your food is ready within 2 – 3 minutes. A middle aged couple runs this truck, and they don’t normally greet you with bright smiles and extraordinary etiquette; but you’re an idiot if you expect great customer service from a food truck. You’re paying them $ 3 – 5 for quick delicious food. they don’t owe you any extra smiles, and they can afford losing your business if you can’t tolerate not being treated like a princess. In all honesty, they’re just very neutral but that’s understandable considering the level of stress. tldr; cut these people some slack and just order your food and leave. I’m surprised no one has contributed actual food photos of this place, so I guess I’ll be the first.

Quick, delicious, cheap. Everything less than $ 5, cooked in less than 5 minutes by a authentic Chinese man that is no business and rocks the shorts in that super hot food truck. Go for a quick fix of Chinese food. He’s also one of the last trucks around during the evening hours. Enjoy!

Cheap and good. Usually can get the food pretty quickly. Everything also tastes pretty fresh.

The Good: King’s Wok serves up incredibly greasy, salty, Chinese food which stacks up well against Yue Kee and Le Ahn. Sizable portions — not bad at all if you’re starving for a quick bite between classes. They have great variety, so I’ll be back to try their other dishes. And it’s still the cheapest grub around. The Bad: Stiff competition from Kim’s, whose food I still prefer. I think King’s Wok should open up shop on campus late Friday and Saturday nights, because this is way better drunk food than Allegro’s!

This place is incredible. I eat here nearly every day and have trekked from 40th just because I was craving shrimp chow fun. The food here is fresh, delicious, and authentic! The portion size is big, and the dishes are generous with its meat and veggies. I appreciate the little touches too, like the fresh scallion sprinkled on the dishes. Most of the customers are Chinese, and I have actually heard them talk about how good the food is to friends while waiting in line. This is also the cheapest Chinese food truck on campus – almost everything is under $ 5 and always comes with a free drink! Some people have given negative reviews about the cook’s attitude, but I’ve never seen him being outright rude to anyone(unlike the lady from my other favorite Chinese truck, Yue Kee) though admittedly he’s not as friendly as, say, the lady at Magic Carpet near the Quad. My recommendations off the English menu: — Beef Chow Fun(the beef here is so tender) — Shrimp Chow Fun(get when it’s cold out) — Pork Chow Fun — Ma Po Tofu(my favorite ma po tofu on campus!) — Shanghai Chicken Off the Chinese menu: — Niu Nan Fan(Beef Stew Rice) — Pai Gu Fan(Pork Chop Rice) Note: For any dish you order, you can ask the guy to add hot sauce. There are also vegetarian options, though I’m personally not familiar with any of them. Also, to address a point made in other reviews, I’ve never found anything gross in my food, and I eat there at least 3x a week. No flies, no plastic, etc.

Dishes are very hit and miss. However the chicken eggplant is pretty good and filling, not to mention incredibly cheap($ 4.25). Definitely more eggplant than chicken and it comes out hotter than it should eaten at, but hardly negatives.

This is the closest food truck to school, where I can get a mapo tofu for 3.50 $ and my favorite dish(eggplant and beef) for 4 $. I tend to avoid lunch times because I find waiting awkward and boring, but any time between 1.30−4pm you get your food very fast. Just don’t expect a culinary epiphany. The food is a little greasy and typically comes with much more meat than vegetables, but more often than not, that is exactly what I am craving for — cheap, well-made but not overly healthy Chinese food. I also agree with the other commenters that the Chinese menu typically has better dishes, and the Chinese people coming here mostly seem to order from that menu.

He may serve the Asians first, but the Singapore Noodles are a phenomenal deal! Other dishes don’t seem so authentic, but by god those Singapore Noodles come with shrimp, chicken, pork, big snow peas, green peppers, and a lot more. I swear it’s delicious.

hands down the best truck for chinese food. I always choose either niu nan fan or(beef stew rice) or pai gu fan(pork chop rice) off the chinese menu(unfortunately Unilocal doesn’t allow me to show the chinese words for it as seen on the chinese menu). The guy makes it in 30 – 45 seconds and its delicious. The secret is the chinese menu. Bad reviewers here just don’t know what to order. The cook is the man; he goes to war with his giant soup ladle.

Definitely a budget friendly place — seriously a lot of their food can be had from 3.50 to upwards of maybe 5? if that? you get your usual chinese fare here — greasy yet delicious — The beef chow fun has been the only thing I’ve had there so far and it was pretty good — For the price point and the amount of food you get — you really can’t beat it– final thoughts — fresh veggies in their foods, really cheap lunch/dinner, quick and easy —

When I go to a food truck, food — not service — is what really matters. But last time I checked, I never ordered a fly. I really hope that I can update my review rating because I know that Mr. King didn’t mean to let a fly and a plastic shard into my eggplant and beef. From the lines that form, it doesn’t seem like that many people get bugs in their dishes — or maybe they just don’t mind little critters in super cheap food.

I used to go to king’s wok with regularity — I hated the guy’s awful, awful attitude, and I always assumed he would try to poison me. I got out scott free, but he did try to kill my friend’s wife with a rusty nut and bolt that fell off his truck and into her food. Not going back, sorry Mr. King.

Quality authentic Chinese food. Fresh, simple and dirt cheap. I eat here almost every workday for lunch. The sizable platters range from $ 3.75 to $ 5.50. One of the best lunch trucks in University City. Every meal is cooked fresh, there on the spot, and in minutes flat(I still can’t believe how fast they are). I must add that this cart caters to the taste buds of its Chinese customers(who seem to form the majority), so keep an open mind if your dish is slightly different that what you expected. This is the real deal, and for the price, it cannot be beat. Things I recommend as near-daily patron: Spicy Eggpant & Beancurd, Spicy Pork & Eggplant, Beef Chow Fun
