I visited Roz today to get a regular men’s haircut. I’ve had a serious problem with barbers in the West Philly area butchering my hair with hair clippers, so it was a real pleasure to meet a stylist like Roz who takes the time and effort to provide her clients with a great haircut that they want. Roz has found herself another dedicated customer. Prices are reasonable for the quality of service she provides, but don’t expect to pay cheap barber prices for a men’s haircut. Also make sure to bring cash, otherwise there is a $ 3 fee to pay with a credit card.

I went to roZ’s salon a few months ago, and I will definitely go back when I’m ready to have my hair straightened again! Her salon is very clean. She’s down to earth and makes you feel comfortable. She knows how to style natural hair. She accommodates Muslim women. Her prices are reasonable.

I brought my daughter in who hasn’t had a perm in over a year. Her hair had been neglected for a long time and it was time to get it treated right, naturally, and gently, without chemicals. My daughter got an individual consultation, her hair was pressed and curled BEAUTIFULLY. The price was extremely reasonable, the ambience fantastic. Jus Roz is very knowledgeable about her craft, she cares, takes pride in her work and it shows. My daughter has a stylist now.

I had a wonderful experience at Roz’s. It was my first time there and she was prompt, courteous, professional and GENTLE. Barely felt her hands in my hair! And I was so impressed with the style she gave me. It was beautiful and is wearing very well because I have been able to maintain it with little to no effort(which I love). I will definitely be going back and would recommend her very highly. I should mention that I am very particular about my hair(currently wearing a very short cut) and have salon horror stories for days… finding Roz’s is a dream come true.

The Breakup Poem Breaking up is hard to do Sorry Duafe But I’m leaving you Don’t mean to step on any toes But I’ve found a new love Jus Roz I love this place; skilled stylist, nice ambiance and genuinely nice people. I went today for a press and curl and left more than pleased. And it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg either.

Since I’ve lived in the neighborhood I’ve passed Jus Roz nearly everyday. For just about as long, I’ve wanted to make an appointment but held off because of my many bad experiences in salons that either overprocess my hair or do not know what to do with it. But yesterday I finally walked in for a consultation and got a walk-in appointment. The only regret I have is not going sooner. From the outside Just Roz has that inviting with that spa-kind of feel, but is still down to earth. The front door was opaque and there were nice heavy curtains that both add to the warm ambiance and spa feel. There are full length mirrors on one side of the wall and three stations that are both elegant and functional. With the wood dressers as work stations, stucco designs, and framed mirrors, decorative touches including candles and incense holders, the shop has a bit of an old world feel. It is clean also clean and her equipment state of the art. Curtains and privacy are especially important for Muslim women like myself who wear the head veil. The owner puts a sign up when a Muslim woman comes in to have her hair done so men don’t walk in. Plus I don’t like it when people on the street can see you with your hair soaking with some dye concoction. I came in the other day looking for a pick me up. The owner took time to provide a consultation offering recommendations for products and treatment. I appreciated that she was versatile and could do natural hair, as well as press and curl. She works will all types of hair, even women from diverse backgrounds from the Middle East and North Africa. She is also excellent with natural hair, so I felt comfortable going to her to deal with my stressed tresses. The owner also gave my friend a consultation, she didn’t make us feel rushed. I didn’t get the typical negativity that I’ve experienced at some Black American hair salons. Working with dense and long hair can be a tall order, and she didn’t complain but kept everything friendly. I got a deep conditioner, a cut, and a press and curl. The prices vary for press and curl, but it is really worth it. The owner can really cut some hair. I was really happy that she didn’t butcher my hair, but left the length that I wanted while cutting off the dead ends. Nor did she burn my hair or my scalp when she flat ironed it. I feel comfortable going to her on a regular basis, unlike in the past where hair stylists can really damage hair. When I put on my hijab and headed home I felt 10 times more glamorous than I did before I stepped in the shop. I’m still enjoying my new head of hair and following a new régime to keep my hair conditioned. My husband was also wowed by the work she did. So I’m definitely coming back in the near future.
