I admit it: I’m a nail-biter. It’s a filthy habit and one I have tried to break myself of on a handful of occasions with the application of virtually indestructible acrylic nails. This is your typical nail salon. Small with fluorescent lighting, not particularly luxurious or even comfortable, and covered in tacky 80s posters(one of the few things I love about typical nail salons). The nail polish selection was lacking. I wanted a very dark shade and really only had one option — OPI’s Lincoln Park At Midnight. A full set is $ 15 here, cheaper than the $ 20 I’m used to, and I basically got my money’s worth. They looked good for the first 3 days or so, until one broke off after a fairly weak brush with my coat seam. Previously I’ve never had a nail come off, to the point that I have to struggle to remove them when I tire of them after a week or two. Guess they use cheap glue, or perhaps not enough. They’d probably do a great job on a standard manicure. One plus is they take cards here, which is a rarity in my experience and awesome since I hate carrying cash. The minimum charge is $ 20 — kinda high, but doable since you can toss the tip on the card in a pinch.
