Between vibrant colors, unique fabric textures, and wafting scents of Nag Chaampa exists a whole cacophony of unique world gifts in nearly every medium — plasters, wood, stone, metal, canvas, and fabric. The jewelry is unique and skillfully made. Some of the best amber, topaz, and jade jewelry I’ve seen in Center City. It’s a cool spot and the staff is always very attentive. On First Fridays, it’s not uncommon to find a Flamenco Dancer upstairs with her own mariachi!

My new favorite store in Old City! with three floors of jewelry, books, masks, paintings, instruments, furniture, and then some from all over the world it gives you an awful lot to go through. some of the art and furniture can be rather expensive, but it’s all pretty reasonable considering everything that you’re looking for. And I found the people working there to actually be beyond friendly. we were welcomed from the get go even though we stumbled in a half hour from their closing up on a Friday. and when we were curious about the storage elevator going up to the second floor we were given a ride up by the very friendly lady working the counter. We missed out the the 3rd floor this time around. But the 2 floors we hit gave us plenty of things to check out. I definitely plan on going back and picking up a drum sometime. Apparently they also offer some diverse dance workshops that could be very worth looking into!

This place is awesome! I wandered in with Kimberly P. the other day, partly to get out of the heat, partly because we were curious about what they sell. This place has all kinds of cool, funky stuff for sale, including folk art, pottery, furniture, jewelry, bedspreads, and more. Most of the place has an Indian or Moroccan vibe — think gold threat and jewel tones — and the store smells faintly of patchouli and incense. Aside from the cool goods, the décor is warm and inviting, with warm lighting, interesting displays, and genuinely nice salespeople. I intend to go back to buy a present for one of my friends, since she loves unique, ethnic jewelry and such. Check this place out if you want to shop for handmade goods(I think they are) rather than your run-of-the-mill chain store.

I can describe Indigo in one word: COOL. Indigo specializes in folk and tribal arts from Asia, Africa and the Americas. When you go in, prepare yourself for the eclectic mix of foreign artifacts. From ornate jewelry to exotically printed bedding to handmade glassware, Indigo has it all. And I loved the funky vibe. A definite must if you enjoy shopping in eclectic stores!
