Such a nice establishment. Simple, classic breakfast food when you want that greasey cheap breakfast meal. Very quick service and homey feel. Love it.

Had breakfast here this morning an the place was packed for a Tuesday. The food was good an the service was a little slow, but everything was good after we got our food. Just a suggestion to the owners need to invest in some coffee mugs instead of serving coffee/tea in styrofoam cups I just didn’t feel that at all but food was great.

A bit of a hole in the wall. A friend of mine put me on to this spot as I’ve been driving past this place for years. Good food; excellent staff. Right in the heart of the city, about a block from Broad & Girard. This place gets crowded quick because it’s not that big. You can call in your order ahead of time too. Oh, did I forget to mention the prices are very reasonable. You won’t break the bank coming here.

Good local breakfast and sandwich place. They have your basic no-frills menu, nothing fancy, but pretty much everything is consistently tasty. I tend to go with the home fries, and BLT and an extra side of bacon if I am feeling extra hungry.(note: their home fries are cooked more like thick hashbrowns) I can’t recommend the steak, but it’s not bad for what you pay for. The omelettes are very good though. The coffee isn’t bad either for diner coffee– it’s not too watered down like a lot of diner coffee tends to be. I usually get the food to go, but the atmosphere is not bad with a diner counter and regular dining tables. The staff is friendly and casual.

This is a great spot. Really incredibly nice staff, although they’re crazy busy during the morning and lunch time! Everything is well priced(see my photo for their menu). You can get an western omlette + toast + potatoes for about $ 6 Cheese omelette + toast + grits OR potatoes for $ 4.75 If I lived in that neighborhood, that’d be my go to lunch or breakfast spot for sure.

I made my first visit to Happy Joy for lunch. After walking in I immediately noticed a small television running what I assumed to be a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. While many restaurants have similar displays promoting the menu what caught me by surprise was that most of the presentation showed pictures of various staff members and customers. I thought this exemplified the care and appreciation that Happy Joy has for their customer base. More restaurants could really learn and do the same! My wife and I had three entrees: chicken & waffles, a turkey club, and a Philly cheesesteak. The portion sizes were large and both sandwiches were served with a generous amount of meat(unlike Subway/Blimpie, etc.). Being from Bergen County, NJ my previous experience with chicken & waffles(I-HOP) and«Philly cheesesteaks» is limited but I can safely say that both plates were significantly better than anything I’ve had locally. I’m not sure I can order either dish(locally) again and to top it off I paid a fraction of what I would have paid back at home. I had a great time at Happy Joy and I recommend it for anyone looking for a friendly dive! If you’re in the area go and give it a try!

Happy Joy is amazing! I’ve had their cheesesteaks, turkey club, blt, waffles, pancakes, eggs, grits… and that’s only part of their ever-growing menu! Love their cheesesteaks! They don’t skimp on the meat or the cheese. Done the right way on Amoroso bread. They use crisp lettuce on their clubs so it tastes fresh. Unlike the limp, soggy lettuce you get from other places. The waffles and pancakes are cooked to the perfect fluffiness. Crisp bacon and eggs are a staple. Add quick and friendly service to sweeten the deal. As others have said, great for lunch during the week but it does get busy so go a little bit early if possible. But if you have to wait, it’s worth it. Can’t do lunch? Go for breakfast on the weekends. They’re open 7 days a week!

I always get their pancakes and bacon when I don’t feel like cooking in the morning. Very nice staff and fast with the food… Truly the best in my area for the price. The only way I would stop ordering from them is if they were not open anymore. Amd I hope that never happens

Great place to go for Breakfast and Lunch. I like their cheesesteaks, turkey bacon club, pancakes and waffles. Hot and fresh and not overly salty or greasy like some other diners can be. I especially love the Belgian waffle served with a dab of butter and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Everything is reasonably priced but it can get crowded for lunch so come early. It’s run by a nice Korean couple who are also adding Korean food options to the lunch menu. Try the ribeye bulgogi and rice combo — delicious!

Happy Joy has really good breakfast. I tried the western omelette which was really cheesy and delicious and also the rib eye steak and eggs which was cooked perfectly. The coffee was strong and service was fast and friendly. Plus the prices are fair. They have an extensive menu covering many breakfast and lunch items. It gets crowded during the lunchtime rush so go early. I’m glad I stopped into Happy Joy and I’ll definitely be stopping by again. Highly recommended!
