This place has a really wonderful space for photography of all sizes. The last exhibit I saw here had huge prints and I didn’t feel a sense of overcrowding like I sometimes do at museums. I love the white walls, they keep them very clean and it helps keep the eye focused on the work instead of some random stain. The upstairs has a huge space as well, don’t skimp on the leg work! Get up there it’s wonderful! The website is also really great for dates on new exhibits and if you missed one you can click it in the past exhibitions part and still view some work from it. Also has profiles on the artists with more of their work in the artists tab, etc. Really great gallery hiiiighly recommended!

Great space for photography. Have seen a couple of excellent exhibitions here. Tip: get on their email list for the heads-up on who’s coming and for invites to opening receptions.

«philly’s only fine art photography gallery,» 339’s space once housed an apothecary and ice cream parlor. the traditional white cube gallery remains intact here, but departs in the most subtle manner: 180-degree pivoting display«pages» in the front, savvy materiality transitions to designate space, and an understated relationship of in/outside. best of all, the staircase is a beauty: glass, polished steel, and a rich, dark wood orchestrate movement through the space that’s both elegant and sensible. this sophisticated architectural interplay alongside fine art photography has a way of elevating both. check them out every first friday for a contemporary collection unlike any other.
