G & G Produce

G’s is owned by the Bella Cena people and sells mainly organic produce, a few packaged foods (oils, dressings), and some prepared Italian food from Bella Cena’s kitchen. Due to either the late hour of the day or the recent opening, G’s gave me half off of a rich, natural lentil soup (no preservatives, but chicken stock based for those vegetarians I need to disappoint), as well as half off a pint of marinara not dissimilar to the extremely expensive, but perfectly balanced Rao’s brand. Eggplant parm and lasagna were also on sale in the prepared case and looked awesome.
Produce was fairly priced and I look forward to them growing their supply.
There were two people working in the store — a youngish girl who seemed a little overwhelmed but was very eager and a kind of offputting guy who was taking a smoke break when I walked in. I had a question about a price (marked differently on the shelf and on the box) and he was just a little too arrogant in his answer for my liking. I’ll give it the four stars because of the soup and the sauce anyway though… yum!
