First rate equipment for rent and sale and on point advice for novice hikers like me. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Really neat little shop for camping and hiking supplies, the employees are super nice and knowledgeable. If I ever need to get any more supplies I’ll be coming back. They carry a good selection of Poler tents and bags.

We stopped in here to browse around for the first time the other day. The store was smaller than I was expecting. However they have a well curated collection of camping items. It’s definitely on the pricier side but I appreciate that they carry items that are American and locally made. I think they could benefit from having some more inventory in store. They do rent tents and other camping supplies. All of that info is on their website or you can chat with someone there or on the phone. Very helpful when I called to ask about camping tent rental for my wedding. Nice shop and great place to grab an outdoorsy gift or supplies for yourself.

I’m not a big camper… in fact, I’d only ever been camping once before the weekend I rented from Fireside. The owner put all my fears to rest over the phone and scheduled me to come and take a look at the tents and other camping supplies. The service was very friendly, AFFORDABLE, and convenient(I rented on a Friday and was able to return it on Tuesday for no extra charge) which was ideal for my cramped time schedule. I highly recommend Fireside!

Fireside Camp Supply is exactly that — a wonderful camping boutique that has the feeling of being fireside. The store is incredibly inviting, the staff is attentive to questions but isn’t overly aggressive or annoying, and their products in stock are perfect for every type of camper — from the weekend warrior all the way to the experienced backpacker, they have everything you will need! Highly recommended, stop by if you have a chance!

What a great addition to graduate hospital and to Philly. Not only do they have all the camping gear, gadgets and food supplies that I need, there is also an information section when fellow hikers/campers can leave notes about recent excursions that they’ve been on. Can’t find what you’re looking for? On 2 occasions the owner has special orders equipment that I wanted and had it delivers to the store for no additional cost. Definitely worth a trip down to South Street. And don’t forget about the BBQ hosted in the store on the 1st Friday of the month.

I have recently rediscovered the joys of camping. However I don’t want to acquire all the equipment. These peeps have everything I need. They are extremely helpful, tips on what I might need, places to camp and the best spots in the campsite. Their equipment is really nice, clean, and at very reasonable rental prices. Ya gotta check them out. We need them in philly! Thanks fireside.

I finally got to check this store out for some holiday shopping… I ended up getting several things for myself and for others. Though the store seems small, they actually offer a ton of fun and useful products whether you are buying for an avid camper, beginner camper, or someone who doesn’t even camp. They sell neat items that most people would love such as moccasins, wallets, jewelry, incense(that smells more natural and outdoorsy) and décor. It’s a very comfortable spot. I felt like I could have hung out there all day. The people who work there are extremely helpful. The woman who was there when I went even helped us compare prices on a percolator and gave me lots of advice about the products I bought. Will definitely return!

What a wonderful new small business! This lady has only been around for 4 months or so, but she shows promise and could become a staple in the neighborhood. I wandered in looking for a gift for my outdoorsy fella, and found the perfect things! I got some great suggestions, and they have some fantastic items. This is not your standard big box REI experience. It’s a lot of small purveyors and one-of-a-kind items, like the handmade flask I bought. Also, every First Friday they do a bonfire with s’mores and it’s BYO in the backyard. Can you get better than that? Probably not.

Fireside Camp Supply was recommended to me word-of-mouth as the go-to spot on South St. I heard it was a little camping goods store with a lot of local flare, but when I walked in I felt an intimate and immediate connection to what the place was all about. The shop definitely exceeded all of my expectations. The design and décor is very reminiscent of all of the National Park visitor centers I stopped at while cross-country road-tripping. The entire store smells like firewood burning at a campfire; that smoldering, earthy scent that makes vagabonds seek solace and comfort in the mountains and valleys of our nation. The woman who owns and runs the store is this chilled-out, old soul who clearly has a strong passion for camping, hiking, and seeking out the more natural side of life, something that is greatly inspired throughout her shop. And the items she carries are unique, pragmatic, and can be your one-stop-shop for an upcoming camping trip. Plus, it’s totally important to represent and support your local shops and stores. You can obviously go to REI/etc. for your camping supplies, but what commercial retail place will invite you to a cookout and s’more night on their back patio? Fireside Camp Supply will. In fact, that’s one thing her flier promotes. The owner wants you to feel welcome and wants you to be part of her awesome shop. Even though I just left with some Dr. Bronner’s Castille Soap, I would absolutely go back to FCS to purchase cool flannels, better multi-purpose sleeping bags, and any smaller, camping-trip essentials.
