This is a long overdue review. Finks is the best hoagie place in Philly and maybe south NJ. They have the best customer service and sandwiches. I tried them all already, I also tried the party trays and everyone was asking me where I got them from. Price is perfect! Very big hoagies if you ask me. Just a tip, make sure to come a little early because they can run out of rolls and you will be disappointed.

Fink’s Deli in the Tacony section of Northeast Philly has won several awards for its hoagies. They offer a variety of hoagies — from standard to gourmet and use Liscio’s Bakery for their rolls. Now the good news is that they have opened a branch in Center City — right on Jeweler’s Row — so more people than ever can enjoy these tasty Philly treats. Is there any downside to Fink’s? There is — they often sell out at both locations(usually meaning they have no more rolls). Once I went way out of my way to stop by their shop in Tacony but they were finished for the day in making hoagies when I got there … and twice in Center City when I was hoping for a Fink’s hoagie, they were closed because they had run out of rolls. Tip — If it is after the lunch hour def call ahead to make sure they are open or are still making hoagies. Heck if I were Fink’s — I’d just buy more rolls!

For the area, this is one of those places that will become a «go to» place. The prices are extremely reasonable. Such a great value for your basic lunch sandwich! I ordered Roast Beef, Swiss, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. For $ 5.50, I got an 8 inch sandwich plus two generous portions of sides– potato and macaroni. Both homemade and very tasty. I don’t eat much bread. But, when I do I want it to be worth it. This roll was definitely worth it. I had the seeded French. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Just what I was looking for! The place is very modest and it only has take-out. That probably contributes to the affordable prices. Sure, there are other«fancier» places to get a sandwich… If you feel like paying at least 2x the price!

Big, delicious sandwiches for a great price! Their hoagies are served on sesame seed French loaf, packed with fresh meat and vegetables. They have great prices for Center City. Get a «Half» for $ 6.50. A «Half» is around 10 inches, so the equivalent of a large at many other places. Be sure to get their homemade hot peppers on your sandwich, they’re mouth watering. Finks easily is one of the best quality-price ratio’s in Center City.

My entire office orders from Fink’s quite often. Yesterday I ordered a tuna hoagie, The seeded roll was great and extremely fresh. The tuna salad was pretty good and had the right amount of mayonnaise. I asked for lettuce and tomato on the side and horseradish and they included exactly what I asked. I have heard several people SWEAR by Fink’s. While the sandwich was good, its nothing to write home to mom about. Pretty Basic. An honestly, in a city like Philly, you can find a better hoagie.

Good stuff. Fresh tomatoes on the sandwiches are definitely noticeable. Prices are great. This is an awesome lunch alterative in the area! Looking forward to trying the hot sandwiches in the fall. Very friendly staff. *Update. Wow… the cold roast pork is killer. I didn’t get the hots or onions with it, but the garlic is a nice touch with the sharp provolone.

Only tried the Italian and it was very good, sesame bread was soft. Just enough meat and condiments/toppings, not overload. They have lots of other selections, would definitely go back and try others.

In a word, outstanding. Hoagies can sometimes be boring, made the same way wherever you go, but Fink’s thinks outside the box, using a variety of ingredients to put a twist on each of its items. Forget Primo’s, this is the place to go for hoagies in Center City. Better go in the early part of the lunch hour though, because the place is so popular they sometimes start running out of stuff.

Best hoagies in center city. You better call ahead or they will run out of bread by lunch time. It has an old school family environment. Finks is the reason I’m going to gain 20 lbs. Great hoagies! I can’t get enough.
