It’s rare finding a BBQ place that will deliver. That alone deserves a 3 star rating. The problem with delivery, is that it takes an hour plus, even when you live 10 minutes away. This leads to the usual problems, slightly warm food, soggy fries, etc. The food itself is a blend of pretty much every American BBQ style, Carolina, Kansas City, Memphis, Texas. It’s a(Fat) Jack of All Trades, master of none situation. Without the focus of mastery on one style, I find in my experience, it’s hard to do all of them at a high level. I got the Half Slab Kombo BBQ platter w/Burnt Ends, Mac and Cheese, Texas Fries, Cole Slaw, and corn bread. The Ribs: got them memphis style with a dry rub. the dry rub didn’t have a ton of flavor, and I think I made a mistake not getting the sauce on them. They were decently tasty, but a bit too fatty. Burnt Ends: My absolute favorite BBQ menu item, and a staple order for me at any BBQ spot. These were decent, a bit on the dry side, but good flavor, and the hot bbq sauce on the side was the star here. Decent spice, great flavor, wish i had gotten it on the ribs. Mac and Cheese: this looked awful, but tasted pretty good. A bit congealed from the hour delivery, but standard if not slightly above average tasting mac and cheese Texas Fries: if these weren’t ridiculously soggy from the delivery they would have been solid fries. nothing to write home about. Cole Slaw: The cole slaw is my favorite type of slaw, super creamy, slightly sweet, a bit of crunch. Corn Bread: Very airy, not super dense corn bread. Tasty, once again nothing exceptional, but definitely not bad. I wish there were half star ratings because i think this is a 3.5 no question. Since that isn’t an option, the delivery puts it over the top to a 4. I ate this with my mom and sister and they both loved their stuff. It’s a solid BBQ spot in an unlikely spot, but not the best bbq i’ve ever had by far.

first and foremost, the food is just so damn good!!! in addition to that, they’re always so friendly when I call ahead, get delivery or just go to eat in. One time I accidentally gave the lady who delivered my food too much money and she came back to give it to me. this is some authentic bbq and is reflected in the price. however, it’s worth every penny and I love eating here. try the mild hot wings with their ranch sauce. best wings you’ll ever have in your life.

I was curious when I drove past Fat Jack’s BBQ this morning and made a mental note to stop in for dinner since I am in town on business. I was pleasantly surprised by the unbelievable tender and smoky Texas style brisket with the hot BBQ sauce which had the right amount of heat. The coleslaw was okay. Service was fast and the staff was friendly.

Went here with a buddy a few days ago. First off, the service was terrible. We ordered at the exact same time with the exact same order. His food comes out right away and mine came out almost 17 minutes later. The place wasn’t even busy. We both had the ribs and brisket with mac & cheese and beans. Oh wait… 22.00 for ½ slab of ribs and four pieces of brisket and the two sides! The sides are awful, I wouldn’t even give it to a homeless person. We watched the cooks in the back heat the sides up in the microwave. The mac and cheese is the worst I’ve had in my life(no joke). The brisket was terrible(fatty, chewy, not much flavor). The ribs were just ok — nothing special. The sauces on the table were good if you like trying bottles without labels. It’s a complete guessing game. Get this — even the fountain soda machine was terrible. I went back to it three times and each selection was awful. Will never come back to this place. Do yourself a favor, go to Famous Dave’s or the best BBQ joint in Northeast Philadelphia — Sweet Lucy’s.

Best BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger i have ever had! Wings were really good too. We didn’t care for the corn(was not sweet) or the Mac&Cheese(kinda dry) but everything else was really good! Also was very affordable and pretty fast service!

I have gotten food here a few. Times the food is ok, but the service is very poor. DONOTORDERDELIVERY. They consistently quote you 45 to an hour and take atleast 2 hours to deliver. When you call they have no clue where your food is and it is consistently delivered cold. I like bbq food, but unfortunately due to the continuing poor service I cannot give this establishment my business.

Alrighty, I work just down the street from this place, but what really brought me in this place was the smoker in the parking lot. Makes me happy to see such things. Anyway, I ordered the Georgia pulled pork which is a dry rub with mustard and slaw. Very tasty and original. I also got the fried pickles, which didn’t impress me all that much but that’s ok. Seems like they know what they’re doing, definitely planning on picking something else out on the menu next time.

Love Fat Jacks! My fiancée and I order from here on a regular basis. The food is consistently delicious. I usually go for the notorious PIG or the Memphis mauler.

I had a great experience here recently. It s a typical BBQ atmosphere from the décor to the chalkboard menu. I had the pulled pork melt with cheese fries. Let me tell you I was so excited by the juicy tenderness of the meat. I had melted cheese and perfectly grilled onions on top. They have delicious sauces and great french fries as well. I can’t wait to try their Wednesday special – 50 cent wings.

Had the pulled pork with coleslaw(on it) sandwich at a catered event. And it was DELICIOUS! I’m usually pretty picky about my pulled pork– but this one was pretty good. Smokey and sweet in all the right ways. Coleslaw was a nice touch too– and tasted good. Only complaint was the roll. It was fine. But a roll always makes the sandwich.

I love this place! Fat Jack’s has great burgers and meats. The twisted burger is amazing. The corn bread is delicious! The place isn’t that big, and can get noisy if there’s other small groups. The food is similar to famous Dave’s which is down the Boulevard but has a more authentic taste. Just don’t go in every week or even every 2 because your waistline will definitely begin to expand from the greasy, delicious bbq food. We’ve ordered out and have eaten in and will definitely be coming back. Also for people looking for a deal, Groupon has fat Jack’s deals at times.

We ordered the Honey BBQ Chicken Wings, Loaded Fries, and the Texas Beef Brisket with sides. Overall the food was good. The atmosphere is casual and the décor was quirky. There aren’t many BBQ places in the area so if you’re craving it then this is a good place to start. The prices are higher than average and I wasn’t impressed with the sides. However, I enjoyed the main entrées. Also, the wait time was reasonable for the amount of food we ordered and it was enough for four people to share.

Today I placed an order for pickup. I ordered a pulled pork melt sandwich with a side of cheese fries and Mac and cheese. The order was ready promptly when I arrived. When I got home and opened it I saw they had gotten my order wrong, instead of a melt(which would have included pepper jack cheese and fried onions) it was plain… It was still a good sandwich but not what I wanted, plus I paid for the extra toppings so that’s kind of annoying… The Mac and cheese and cheese fries were good. The melt was written on the receipt so no idea where the communication issue lies. Probably won’t come back.

Oh my god. The Food Is Fantastic! Must try the burnt ends. I mean seriously. I order from them as much as I can. It just stinks that they are not close to me. I love their groupon deals and other promos that they run. It definitely takes the edge off the bill. If I had to change anything about Fat Jacks it would be some of the employees. They just seem to care less about me. Even though I tip very well. And don’t have to.

Food and service was excellent! I would highly recommend the ribs are amazing. The service was excellent, and on the last night of summer the outdoor seating allowed me to enjoy the last summer sunset :)

Jack’s deserves 6 stars for the pork and brisket barbecue. Best BBQ and sauces I’ve ever eaten. The Mauler burger with pulled pork, brisket, cheddar cheese and grilled onions is the best ever and deserves all it’s rewards. If skip the cheese wiz fries though and just get ‘Em plain. Collard greens need livening up. The fast casul atmosphere is simple with a couple of picnic tables. There are a couple high top tables outside if the air con is blasting. I bought all three of their BBQ sauces they were so delish — perfect blends if sweet, salty, spicy and vinegar.

This is my new favorite BBQ place! Had the Texas Tornado sandwich because they said it was there best seller. 3 kinds of meat and slaw. Super delicious! The ribs they put just dry rub on so that the man could eat them plain and I put my own sauce on mine.(I’m saucy). The potato salad was as good as my moms and that’s saying a lot. Mac And cheese was only so so. But everything else made up for it. Can’t wait to go back

F– for customer service. Just got a LOVELY email from the president of Fat Jacks whining and crying that I didn’t call after my mediocre meal. I would much rather address his email on Unilocal, because when I have horrible food, I like to warn the next customer just what it is they’re going to receive. 1. I was told by the president«the cashier remembered you and she said she told you it would be 20 minutes.» This is flat out untrue. I was NEVER given a time for my food, at any point. Now, even if I WAS(as little Miss Sherry swears she did) given a time, they went 10 minutes over that promised time and at no point was I alerted to that change. So, even if Miss Sherry was telling the truth to the big boss, his staff still handled it horribly. 2. «You shouldn’t have gone to Unilocal you should have called.» Thank you for informing me, Mr. President of Fat Jacks, just how I am to express my distaste for your food and service. How’s this? Service here sucks. Even the owner has a bratty attitude that he felt the need to message me via Unilocal crying and whining that my review was unfair. Don’t contact me. Trust me, I won’t be contacting your business ever, ever again. 3. «What was not good about your sandwich because crap is a broad term.» This is a bit fair. Let me help. The chicken was dry, the meat wasn’t flavorful, and the bread was covered with a thin layer of grease over the top. It had to be eaten with a knife and fork because your low quality rolls couldn’t hold it together. Plus, it was cold. So, if you«helped bag the order the second it came off the grill» I would suggest you check your grill because it’s producing cold food. There was nothing wrong with the burger. Now, if you were able to mess up a patty of meat on a bun I would be concerned with your ability to remember to breathe. You know. Because it’s literally a patty of meat slapped on a roll. Your fries were flat out soggy. Soggy. Let me repeat, so perhaps Miss Sherry can understand as well – your fries were soggy. 4. He also went on a diatribe about how I didn’t see the delivery driver looking for directions and leaving a bag to sit for nearly the entire time I was there. So, whatever Mr. Fat Jacks. There’s no arguing with what I saw. I’m assuming Miss Sherry was the older brunette woman who rang me up, and that’s the one who was telling him«these people have been waiting forever you need to go.» as the guy clueless wandered about. I would love to post a screen shot of this email, but Unilocal is pretty strict about what you post when it comes to businesses. It would only be deleted. So, while after Friday I may have given this place a chance to redeem itself, I will never again be a patron at one of these locations. Not only that, I will inform anyone I know to also never again pay for a meal at Fat Jacks. Next time you want to send an accusing and unprofessional email, maybe consider the fact that you have no idea what you’re talking about and should probably keep your mouth shut. Oh, and I lived in North Carolina for 4 years. That’s not Carolina BBQ.
