I received a gift certificate for Ettore in July from a friend, now 3 months later Ettore closed with no contact information(my email bounced back and the phone is disconnected). I have no way of contacting them and there is no way for my friend to get her money back. Does anyone know if there is another location or someone I can contact? This just doesn’t seem right …

I had the worst waxing experience of my life here. i will never return. the aesthetician was extremely invasive, made racial comments(re: women with ethnic hair) and generally made me uncomfortable. if you are considering this place for a wax, don’t go.

I also started going to see Morgan for hair coloring after a promo event at Macy’s introduced me to her. She is amazing! She is very talented in making my partial highlights look like a natural part of my hair, and I never have any issues with the color or distribution of the highlights. Morgan is also very sweet and friendly, and I would recommend her to anyone who was looking for a good colorist!

My dad wanted to surprise me by reaching out and asked me to set up a spa day on him. I had previously heard good things about Gary and Eddie… plus their place was open on a Monday. The massages and facials there are awesome. Agatta did our swedish massages. They were good and her professionalism and service were incredible. My facial was relaxing as well as informative. Halena did a wonderful job. She’s definitely an asset to their business. I didn’t have as great an experience with my haircut or mani/pedi. After informing a woman at the front desk, nothing was really done. I was quite pleasantly surprised to hear back from the owner himself just two days later. Gary was deeply apologetic about the issues. He agreed to refund me for the services I had problems with and kindly asked me back in for a complimentary service. I really admire business owners who listen to what they’re clients have to say and honestly strive for that 110% satisfactory experience. It really doesn’t happen often these days. It certainly is the only real way to gain new loyalty and reduce churn. I am very much looking forward to returning now, and I will be sure to tell all my friends how they really turned around what could have been a quite negative memory.

ok. my problem with this spot was not the massage. My massage was just lovely. my problem is they used oil, and after my time was up I was thanked and shown the door. I squicked all the way to the train, and all the way home. ick. the worst part it was summer, and i didnt have on socks in my shoes, and I was squicking out of my shoes as I walked. not really safe. Ah well, I wouldnt go back…

I’ve only ever went here for a Brazilian wax, but it was very different compared to other places I went for a waxing. Effie was the woman who waxed me – or better to say speed waxed –got everything done in like 7 minutes, which was nice since i didn’t have to deal with the pain for long but I found out through other waxers later that speed waxing is HIGHLY not recommended… its not good re-waxing the same section over and over. She came into the room with me, told me to take my bottoms off and get on the table. To note, she was busy mixing waxes but didn’t give me privacy to undress AND didn’t give me a towel to put over top or those disposable panties. She also never said one word to spark a conversation, which made it awkward. The front desk people arent mean, but make no attempt to win you over to come back again. Definitely DONOT go here if its your first time getting any type of waxing. You’ll never want to be waxed again if you do.

I love Gary and Eddie. The staff is so courteous and professional. The salon itself is gorgeous and their spa services and products are amazing. I would definitely recommend this salon and spa to anyone.

I should start by saying I only come here to get my brows waxed, but I’ve been coming here for three years. Effie does a wonderful job on my brows. I naturally have very dark thick brows and am picky with how they are done, but she always makes them look great, never too thin. If you are looking for perfectly and naturally groomed brows, go to Effie.

Customer Service is a joke here. I received a massage from a gentlemen who never asked where I wanted him to concentrate, how I like it, nothing. The massage was okay I guess. I was not encouraged to drink a lot of water afterwards, or even sit and relax for a minute, I was rushed to the register where the man ringing me up couldn’t even crack a smile or ask me how my massage was. I’ll never spend my hard earned money on an experience like this again.

Getting your hair done by a stranger three hours before an event where you will be on stage is a scary situation. Well, I am here to tell you, do not be afraid at ettore. After I checked in, a woman comes out with hand extended and with a firm handshake says, «Sue!» I knew I was in good hands with that confidence. Sue is so good she even had several assistants to hand over bobby pins and fetch smocks. Now I know my thin hair is not the type for an up do but when Sue handed me the mirror to check out her final work, Princess Grace came to mind. Sue, thank you! Also, three other friends had their hair done by other stylists and they all looked great. You will pay hotel prices but that’s life. $ 105.00 including a nice tip for a special occasion style.

I was in town for a wedding this past weekend and made an appointment at the Ettore Salon and Spa for a blow-out. It was conveniently located within the hotel where I was staying(the Marriott). Dawn blew out my hair and did a great job. She didn’t over-flatten it, but it stayed smooth and straight throughout the night, despite the humidity. I ended up having my make-up done as well(I believe the lady’s name was Marlene). The staff was very nice and professional, and I was pleased with the service. The desk-staff were a little cold, though, and the prices were a little high, but I suppose you pay for convenience. The atmosphere is not very«spa”-like(i.e. soothing), it’s more like a busy hair salon; if you’re looking for a relaxing spa day, this may not be it. Bonus: They also sell Davines products, which I love!
