I love everything about this spot(the cover charge, atmosphere, diversity of the crowd, the food, the drinks, the staff is nice, the deco/layout, and last but not least the music).

You would miss this spot if you didn’t know where to look. The entrance is small and you go through a thin alleyway and into the kitchen area before you pay the $ 5 cover and the buck coat check. Atmosphere was very nice, was pretty warm and welcoming. Trust me, it looks way better than in the four pictures shown. Pretty classy. Music was great, a mix of hip hop and R&B from the 80s to now. Everything from Sugarhill Gang to Rick Ross was played and enjoyed. Clientele was surprisingly diverse. While it wasn’t packed(I guess word hasn’t gotten out) there was everyone from white to black, young to old, gay to straight. I was pleasantly surprised. Some people just sat down and gawked the whole time and some had drinks at the bar and ate food, but many people just did what they came for: dance! At one point a woman instructed us to do a dance line. I can’t dance for crap but everyone was supportive and cordial I didn’t have any food but the chicken and waffles people ordered smelled and looked tasty. Hookah was $ 25 and lasted a long time and was pretty flavorful(mint). I ordered one drink(a pineapple cocktail) and it was $ 7 for a good size; what I was expecting to pay. Oh and they DO accept cards now, using their iPad card readers. I will go back with my friends and try the food next time!

Amazing atmosphere! Bartenders are super friendly and you can’t go wrong with Brendan Bring ‘Em spinning. Stopped in during a short trip. So glad I did! Casual but classy. Bartenders are so nice!

I’d never heard of this place and was VERY skeptical(read:displeased) when I was asked to pay $ 5 cover AND that it was cash only. Major major loss of points. However, if you’re looking for a place to go dancing on a Thursday night, I guess this spot fills that void. The inside is pretty cool, it’s dark and mysterious, and there are walls that look like bookshelves that are actually doors. There was a couch in the back and people were smoking hookah so that’s pretty cool if you’re into that. Drinks were kind of expensive so we didn’t stay long(because really who carries cash). As the 2 stars implies: Meh, I’ve experienced better.
