I have been going to Jayme for skin care and she is amazing! Not only does she know her stuff and every session I have with her my skin improves, but she is knowledgable and passionate about what she does. In addition, she has a kind bedside manner and is always on time with her appts! If you haven’t gone to dermacenter you should set up a free consult with her and see what they offer and how she can help improve the health of your skin.

i have been investigating med spas in the area, so this is based on my initial consultation getting in is tough. one deceptive stair to the door… then five to get to the office, and a full flight of stairs to get to the treatment rooms. waiting room, very small and clean looking, kind of looks like i expect from my veterinarian. STRONG candle smells, i started having trouble breathing. i ended up buying stuff just to get out. my husband could still smell it on me after 25 minutes, from sitting in the waiting room They wanted my credit card, up front, for a free consultation. the aesthetician explained the procedures fairly well, she was friendly and also emphasized the importance of home treatment and sunscreen. she did NOT explain how much peeling a chemical peel would cause. nor the levels of chemical peel. based on the literature i saw and the webpage i think its a LIGHT peel, not a medium or heavy peel, which makes the price for that procedure about average. did NOT suggest any medical consult for some of my skin issues as they may be more easily treated by checking my hormone levels rather than being cosmetic.

I started going to Dermacenter from the Living Social deal I got a few months ago. I liked the experience enough to purchase a package and am thrilled with the results. I’ve had 4 treatments so far and my skin looks amazing. I’ve had treatments and facials many times before but hadn’t taken the leap to lasers. After lots of research I knew that IPL was going to do what I wanted which was remove the sun/age spots from my face and hands. Molly has been my aesthetician throughout and I highly recommend her. She is skilled, knowledgeable, professional and friendly — a great combination. I disagree with the people who complained about the prices. They are comparable to other centers in both Philadelphia and New York and you don’t want to go for the bargain where your skin is concerned.

I love the Dermacenter, and I love its star worker, Molly. I have been going to see Molly for months now. I signed up for a series of IPLs, a laser treatment that really helped my skin looked tone and even. I then started laser hair removal. Molly has shown such interest in my skin and my skin/body habits. She gives advice as she treats my skin, and she supports me when I tell her what I am willing and/or able to do and afford. Most important, Molly has a huge amount of scientific knowledge and expertise. She knows the products and the treatments she uses and how they work. I have never asked her a question without getting a thoughtful, educated response. Molly is in a practice that includes physcians too, a nice addition. By the way, you can make appointments by phone or email, and you get really nice reminders for your appointments. Try the Dermacenter if you care about your skin.

I started going to this place with a Groupon or Living Social or something(there are so many now!), and I was hooked. I’ve been seeing Monica for various procedures, and she is superb – the best. She tells me what she is going to do and why, and then she does it, and then I look great. My favorite procedure is facial microplaning, which involves a chemical peel and a razor(so it’s probably not for the fainthearted), and what results Monica gets! People have been telling me for months how great my skin looks. Yeah, it’s pricey. It’s a medi-spa, and it’s in an upscale neighborhood. But you get RESULTS. So pony up. Worth every cent.

I purchased a six-session package for the laser hair removal on my face and am currently halfway through my treatment. I also purchased a Living Social certificate to get a chemical peel which was pretty successful. So far, I’m VERY pleased with the results of both and will likely purchase a full five-session package for more chemical peels in the near future. Some people complain that it’s pricey. But these are luxury spa services and I think they’re comparable with other places in the city. Depending on the service, I would say do your homework and decide for yourself. Being able to come in for a full year after my package is finished if I decide I need some touching up on the laser definitely makes the $$$ worthwhile to me. Buying packages instead of single sessions will also make some treatments more affordable. Thus far, I’ve worked with two aestheticians — Molly and Monica — and they have been SUPERBLY friendly and courteous. They also seem to really know skin care very well and are highly qualified to give advice to a diverse clientele with varying skin types. The ONLY reason why they get less than five stars is because they are pretty Nazi about payment. Be advised that their schedule of fees is NOT posted on their website(by design) and that you are forced to speak with someone rather than conducting your research online(something of a downer if you prefer an option other than waiting for someone to return your call). And be sure to read over your contract carefully before committing to any treatments that have multiple sessions. They do offer payment plans for different services. But a miscommunication about their expectations regarding mine led to an embarrassing situation. Again, this still doesn’t detract from the experience. The whole staff ended up being more than accommodating and I walked away happy with everyone. In the highly unlikely event that my face falls off by the time my laser package is complete, I’ll be sure to update my review and let the world know. But I’m really not expecting that. So good job to Dermacenter.

I bought a Groupon here in the spring, and it had almost expired before I called to make an appointment. The staff person I talked to was very friendly, and even though they were booked until the Groupon expired, offered to make me an appointment later in the summer, so I could still use it. I thought this was a nice effort, and now I had a facial to look forward to. I had a chemical peel done, which I have had done before, so I knew basically what to expect. Although a chemical peel is not the most relaxing facial experience you can have, the results are what make it worthwhile. After checking in, my esthetician whisked me away to a private room and explained the procedure, asked some questions about my skin, and got to work. She looked at my skin very briefly, and then jumped right into extracting some blemishes. I was a little alarmed that she didn’t use any steam or hot towels to relax my skin, and just started digging away! Obviously, this hurts like hell, and without steam it was pretty excruciating. She then got to the peel, and I felt like she applied it a bit sloppily to my face — I had to wipe some of the gel off my lips at one point, and even so, my lips were burning for a few days after. The whole appointment took probably less than 20 minutes. I left feeling a bit rushed through the whole thing. Basically, it comes down to this: I bought this Groupon to try out the spa, in the hopes of being a repeat customer. Since I don’t know if this is how they normally treat customers, or if they were cutting corners for people who purchase Groupons, I can’t make a judgement call, but I know I will not be returning here for services to find out, either.

A bit overpriced and bourgeois is how I’d describe Dermacenter Other than that, my own personal experience with this spa goes a little deeper than the superficial level. Unfortunately, It just wasn’t for me. I got a chemical peel btw, it wasn’t bad, my skin felt really soft and smooth afterwards. I had an online deal but I think one treatment is just a starting point before you hand over a pretty penny for subsequent visits. I don’t think it would’ve been worth it for regular price. The woman at the front desk was friendly.

I’ve been a patient for about a year at Rittenhouse Internal Medicine and just noticed that they had a medical spa in the center and I never realized Dr. Saltzman had botox and other products! As a birthday present to myself, I finally decided I was going to do something about the unsightly wrinkle between my brows that had been bothering me for some time. Dr. Saltzman helped me decide if I wanted to go with Botox or the Dysport. I chose Dysport. She told me that my brow wrinkle would be reduced significantly but would not completely disappear. My appointment was super quick; i think I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. AND the results are fabulous! I am so pleased. It actually exceeded my expectations. I feel like I look about 5 years younger. :) I’ve also signed up for some hair removal next.:)
