This place is very«meh». I would prolly never go here if not for it’s proximity to my house. Everything is overpriced, and while they do have a multi-level store with more groceries on the second floor, everything you get here is way cheaper at Trader Joes. Another thing that irks me — $ 10 credit card minimum. I get that small businesses don’t have the same flexibility to eat credit card charges that bigger chains do, but most stores in the area don’t adhere as strictly to the $ 10 minimum that this place does. The ATM charges $ 2.99 per transaction, which is just an additional slap in the face when you don’t have cash on you. One positive — their breakfast sandwiches are always great. i get sausage and egg on a bagel and have always enjoyed it. The staff is very nice and the store is clean, but overall i wouldn’t go here unless i had to.

It’s official: after going here on and off for the last year, I am convinced this is one of the most overpriced, unfriendly establishments in Philadelphia. First, the woman who works at the counter is an absolute horror. She is unkind, and the complete opposite of accommodating. On at least three occasions(before I realized she would never, ever make an exception), I came into the deli looking to pick up just a few small items totaling less than $ 10. That’s pretty much what I always do at delis… because they’re delis, not grocery stores. The woman is adamant that under no circumstances will she sell you something that’s less than $ 10 if you don’t have cash. Forget that you’ve waited 10 minutes for them to make your sandwich. Forget that there are people in line behind you. Forget that it’s only one time. The answer is «no.» In fact, the answer has never been yes with this woman. I once asked her if she could put hummus on my bagel in the morning. I received a «no» response with no explanation. In fact, the only toppings I was allowed, she explained, were butter and regular full-fat cream cheese. Want more cream cheese than the small dollop they provide? Not permitted. I once asked if I could buy one bulb of garlic(who uses more than one bulb of garlic in a recipe??). I was informed it was only sold in bunches of TEN bulbs for the low price of $ 7(peppers are $ 3 for two). Sounds like a great dinner – for $ 10, I can eat two peppers smothered in more garlic than I could ever need. At least I won’t have to use cash. Finally, the food is not even good enough to remotely warrant this terrible service. Egg sandwiches are made with pre-cooked eggs. The coffee has run out on me twice while I was filling a twelve-ounce cup. Wraps are tiny and still run about $ 7. The menu is small, and even if you happen to notice they sell groceries in the basement, everything is so overpriced that it’s not worth the walk downstairs. Avoid this place at all costs… I will be.

This place is right across the street the street from the hairdresser I have been going to for over 10 years. I have bought many things from here. They sell a variety of different items and are convenient. I ran in while I waited to get a blow dry to get some chips and a hot chocolate. It’s a very cold day. While I waited in line I sipped my chocolate and when I got to the register I pulled out my card to pay. The woman told said nothing. She pointed to the sign. $ 10 minimum. I was spending a little over $ 5 for hot chocolate and chips. I didn’t want anything else. I had no cash. I told her I had no cash I am sorry. This is all I need. There were other people behind me. She was adamant and she refused to take my card. In front of everyone she reached over and took the chocolate out of my hand. I was shocked and appalled and completely disgusted! I left the chips and walked a block up the street to a less stocked store and bought my items. I will never go to this place again! That was appalling behavior. BTW: having a minimum to use credit in ANY store is highly illegal and finable. And after I do my research and figure out who I report them to to, I will be reporting them. That’s was totally unnecessary behavior. If you don’t want to incur the fees on the credit card machine for your customers usage then don’t have one!

If you’re debating between a quick meal at a café or this place, keep in mind that this place will be equally expensive, but faster. Pretty average convenient place to get a bite. Large beverage selection. The deli sandwiches have high quality ingredients.

Update– The ATM machine is «out of order» every other day, so don’t go with the hope of taking money out. It’s really a shame this place isn’t better because it’s so convenient for me. I’ve been going there every day for the past several months, for coffee. The woman at the front counter during the week, is one of the most unfriendly people I’ve ever met. She never says hello; just takes my money, checks to make sure it’s not counterfeit and that’s it. I’d stop going if it weren’t so convenient… however, for the past WEEKAND A HALF, they have been out of coffee because their«delivery» guy hasn’t come. Wouldn’t you think you’d walk down to another store and buy coffee, just to have some for your customers? I always am rooting for a local, small business to do well and be successful, but for the first time, I am hoping 711 puts them out of business.

I will never shop here again! I’ve lived around the corner from, and regularly shopped at DELIcious Bites for the last 4 years, but the experience I had today was so appalling, that I refuse to give them another dime. I went in this morning to pick up some things to make breakfast. One of these items was a half pound of cheese. Upon returning home, I was putting the groceries away and I tasted a piece of cheese in the process. The piece cheese tasted a little funky, so I threw it out and checked the rest. Turns out the whole half pound of cheese was bad. «No big deal, I’ll just go return it and get something else» I figured. So I walk back over, cheese in hand, and I approach the cashier and explain that the cheese is no good. She hands it over to who I assume is the manager/owner. This man proceeds to argue with me for 15 minutes. «Just because you think the cheese is bad doesn’t mean I have to give you money«he yelled at me. He put the bad cheese I returned on the scale then argued that what I was returning was less than a half pound, after I had explained that I tried and threw away a couple pieces. He eventually conceded to refund me for the weight of the cheese that I returned, and not for the half pound I purchased. This was all done in front of about a dozen customers. Arguing about $ 4 worth of cheese to a customer who has spent hundreds, if not thousands, on groceries here over the last 4 years. It’s a shame, but I will never shop here again.

Purely as a deli, it’s nice. And the name DELIcious Bites is certainly oddly charming. But there’s seemingly no reason I should walk an extra six blocks to go here. Except… wait, what’s this??? Holy crap! Home-made kimchi! Kimchi is my crack. But most of the store-bought versions are meh at best, even at the Asian markets in South Philly — unless I make a field trip to H-Mart, which ain’t exactly convenient when I’m jonesing on a Monday night. And that shite they sell at Whole Foods barely qualifies as coleslaw. But this stuff? Perfect level of spice, perfect level of crunch, perfect level of sour. I actually just sat down and ate an entire pint of it for lunch. Yes, I have a problem — but now I also have a solution to that problem. Perhaps it may not satisfy the rigid standards of those with easy access to H-Mart or Korean relatives, but my daily quality of life just went up a big notch.

Just on the other side of lunch, you’ll find that wait for a sandwich is short, and the wait staff is very helpful, quick to get things done, and friendly. I’m giving three stars for the fact that the deli is farther from my local delis in center city and charges almost 10% more for the same sandwiches. The place was very cleanly, and they have some very amazing offerings outside of the deli. But, I gotta say, I wasn’t as impressed as I wanted to be. I’ll stop by if I’m in the Grad Hospital area and need lunch, but I’ll stick to my neighborhood deli for now.

this is a super convenient place to pick up some basic items between grocery trips. it’s clean, and the staff is nice. as with any small store, the mark ups are intense, but, again, this place isn’t meant for regular grocery shopping… at least not if you’re on a budget. they’ve also got a nice produce selection and usually have some pre-cut fruit packaged for purchase.

This is one of those places that is a pleasant surprise, even after you have been in it many times. I say that because from the appearance outside, you would not expect a lot. But, inside, you find a great deal of fresh and packaged snacks and grocery items. They have one of the largest collections of dried fruits and nuts around, but who would know? They have a basement that is full of helpful kitchen items and canned goods, but it is hard to tell there is a second floor. There is a deli but I have not gotten anything from it, but I can tell you that it sure smells good when they are cooking. I often stop here on my way home to get produce that I need to finish off my dinner, or a snack to have with dinner, when I find other grocery items that I need. It is a nice find in our neighborhood. The staff is helpful and friendly. The store is clean and neat. Excellent location. I think if it were modernized or painted to be a litter brighter or cheery, people might feel more compelled to stop in and shop and it would not be a surprise to find all the goodies inside anymore. While we are waiting for that to happen, why don’t you just stop in and see for yourself?

I don’t always drink soda, but when I do it’s coconut soda from DELIcious Bites. I’m sure other places have it too, but on a hot day it’s nice to have quick access to it. Other than that, I’ve bought milk/eggs/gatorade/and other one off items I want/need in a hurry. I haven’t tried the deli food, the hoagies or any of their other offerings. It’s convenient, seems to be open whenever I want to go there, can’t complain.

Giving them the one star bump-up because I adore the staff. I live around the corner so I already cherish a place that I can run into 8 thousand times with flour all over myself during pre-dinner party prep to get random things(buttermilk? check! chicken bouillon cubes? check!). But really my appreciation sky-rocketed when I sheepishly walked in(for the third time that day) to pick up heavy cream I had forgotten to pick up. The cashier pulled out a receipt from earlier that day and told me she had accidentally charged me $ 1.35 for something I had not bought and she took the $ 1.35 off my current purchase. So nice of her to come clean, especially since 9⁄10 times that I’m there I tell her I don’t want the receipt so I wouldn’t have even noticed. Props for the honesty, DELIcious Bites. The sad face about this place is that obviously they overcharge you for everything. Like most corner stores!(((shaking fist at the heavens)))

I ran into this place on Memorial Day to grab something for lunch because it was too hot out and drained any motivation I had to make myself something to eat. This deli is great! I ended up getting the grilled chicken and mozzarella panini. At first, I was nervous that this place was way overcharging me for a sandwich($ 10), until I got home and opened the container. Holy moly! The sandwich was huge and had fresh mozzarella with 3 full, grilled, boneless chicken breasts on fresh, thick cut sourdough bread. I was impressed! I’ll definitely be going back here in the future. Oh by the way, they also make their own kimchee and have sushi available for purchase. Also, make sure you check out the downstairs pantry for more everyday items(tin foil, soda, pasta, cake mix, etc).

Staff is FANTASTIC and overall selection is great. Some stuff is a little overpriced, while others is strangely underpriced. Great place to stop by and pick up a few staples you may need, or a quick sandwich/meal. Love how close I am to it, and definitely hope it’s around for a long time.

Tacos were on the menu this evening, so I thought I would pop into pumpkin for guacamole, salsa, homemade tortilla chips and limes. Sucks to be me — pumpkin is closed on mondays! I had to regroup. I looked directly across the street and remembered that delicious bites sells fresh produce. What a relief! I snagged some romaine lettuce, a few limes and cilantro. Dinner salvaged! So, if you find yourself in need of a few staples and don’t feel like making the trek to whole foods, delicious bites will do in a pinch.

This is my neighborhood bodega, and that’s amazing! Im going to write three mini reviews: The grocery: they have some reasonably priced produce, soups, and those kind of things you go «shit i need_____to make this tonight» It is a great place to grab a few things for the week without having to go to a huge grocery store. The Sandwiches: They italian is amazing. They are not too expensive, and perfect for grabbing and taking to the park for lunch! Other: they have a huge selection of drinks, coffee, and juices. I love stoping here on the way to work/class and grabbing a new drink I haven’t tried before. This place is awesome!

This place consistently surprises me with the large selection of delicious edibles they carry. Their chip selection is varied from the amazing Cheddar & Horseradish kettle cooked chips to the equally as amazing PopChip line. Along with these chips, their drink selection is filled with good, and sometimes strange items. The best part in my opinion are the Naked drinks and the glass Coca-Colas from Mexico. They are made with real sugar and taste awesome! If you are more adventurous you can try one of the many strange beverages in the larger case. If sweets are more of your thing, they carry a small infantry of chocolate that will have your tastebuds reeling. Many German chocolates inhabit the shelves at DELIcious Bites, and none of them disappoint, even if somewhat pricey. For those looking for a quick sweet fix, fear not, they carry Zebra Cakes for under a dollar :) All in all, DELIcious Bites is a great neighborhood deli with cold cuts, sandwiches, snacks, and drinks to keep you filled. I would recommend it to any of my friends!

Delicious Bites has killer sandwiches. The tuna club is amazing, and the sweet korean bbq chicken is out-of-this world. Their salads are big enough for two meals, and their produce, while kinda on the pricey side, is always fresh and yummy. Plus they have an incredible beverage selection, including the rare but delicious Arctic Splash! The upstairs is filled with snacks, produce, fresh flowers, a coffee station, and a long deli counter; the downstairs houses miscellaneous groceries like salad dressing, campbell’s soup, rice-a-roni, and soda cases. there’s no way you could do all your grocery shopping here, but it’s good if you need one or two items. Saturday and Sunday mornings, DB is my go-to place after a long night of drinking, and the staff is always super nice and friendly, even when you smell like sweat and beer. Plus, if you REALLLY can’t get out of bed, they deliver, which I need to remember for next time I smell like sweat and beer…

My new go-to spot for a quick bite or sandwich near by bf’s place. As everyone has said, the staff is very friendly, the sandwiches with Boar’s Head meat are good, and there’s a wide selection of snacks, drinks and groceries. I got some kimchi there the othe day and it was quite good — very spicy! And I enjoy their Green Mountain coffee. Also this place strikes me as very clean… cuz sometimes delis/mini-marts sketch me out.
