If you are a steak lover and like good atmosphere, you will love Del Friscos. We had the dumplings and calamari appetizers, delicious! Also tried the filet mignon and were delicious as well. Service was top notch and they didn’t rush us out of the restaurant.

Went during the restaurant week. Only good part of dinner was the the«VIP» martini, otherwise food was subpar. Steaks were over salted heavily and not done to temperature which was requested. I am not sure if it was because of late dinner and during restaurant week, however a standard should never change even when you serve a thousand customer.

Came here for Restaurant week and I would return to pay full price. Delicious filet mignon… once it was cooked right. I ordered medium and the waiter knew what that meant but I got medium well and when they rushed me another one it was rare. I ended up switching with a friend(we all ordered different temperatures) and seriously, yum. The wine however, was so pricey! There isn’t anything below $ 15/glass and Italian wine starts at $ 45/glass. Still, the old bank and the wine staircase was wow to look at during dinner and the noise level was nice when we were there. Oh ya! Dessert was perfect.

1st time dinning here. I must say best ambiance in center city ! When I heard it was an old bank and they converted it into a restaurant we had to check it out! Friendly staff n service! We dined during restaurant week so we choose two separate diners! They didn’t disappoint at all! Server was very knowledgable off menu and wine list! Overall great experience and diner will return again!

This spot is for all you fancy folks out there! ;) I consider myself pretty fancy. Del Frisco is located in the heart of Center City Philly. I’ve been here a few times for business meetings or just happy hour. We went back during Philly’s Restaurant Week so it was packed. First we ordered cocktails… Naturally! We went for their signature cocktail the Pineapple Martini. That cocktail needs a moment of silence because it’s sooooo Delicious. We ordered the calamari to start, which was amazing with a little sweet and spiciness. We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. I selected house salad, grilled salmon and ended it with the chocolate mouse. Beyond delicious! My friend almost licked his plate. Lastly, the service was of course impeccable. Happy Eating!

Clearly this place needs no more reviews as they’re top notch, but I wanted to mention their hospitality and customer service more than the food(which made me want to eat until I hated myself it was so good). Our server was AMazing. He was so attentive without being overbearing. He was kind and knowledgeable. He offered suggestions and made the choosing easy. He is surely a shining star as far as servers go and I’ve had some crappy ones and some good ones. He was up there with the best. Two people, assuming managers, came by during our meal and just asked how things were and what I thought was nice, one asked if there was anything he could do to make our meal better. Just this little added question changed that normal managerial visit you often get in restaurants. I noticed as he stopped over to the next table he did the same and they actually had a concern and he addressed it immediately. I don’t know the specifics of their issue, but I saw him leave and come back in a few moments with a new meal(assuming cooked differently or something) he actually took the time to make sure he addressed those concerns asap. Lastly, the hostess station. I feel an often overlooked group of folks. They didn’t do much, but that’s not meant insulting since we only had like a 4 second interaction with them, but they were pleasant and quick to action. We arrived 40 mins early for our reservation(snowpoclypse weekend) and they were able to seat us within 5 mins. They checked our coats and escorted us right away. The restaurant was fairly bustling. There were few empty tables and the bar was full. I was pleased that we didn’t have to wait until our reservation time to eat. Thanks Del Frisco’s for keeping my faith in restaurants and their customer sevice. You’re truly exceptional in this realm.

Pretty good steak! Cooked nicely and well seasoned! Hubby and I came for restaurant week and for the price $ 35 per person it was a good deal! We had the pineapple vodka drinks, VIP special and they were good, only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the cheesecake.

Yesterday, my friend and I went for a Restaurant Week lunch around 1pm and it was amazing! We entered through the revolving door, checked in for our OpenTable reservation and were seated in under three minutes. Granted, the place was full of lunchgoers(probably in lieu of attending dinner during the snowstorm) and we were seated at a booth made for six people. It was a bit odd but we moved closer to each other at the table lol. Our server was Eden and she was great! I loved her humorous, down-to-earth style. Both of us ordered water with lemon and we received bread and butter to start. The bread was soft with sesame seeds on it and the whipped butter just made it better. :-) We then ordered our food under the $ 20 Restaurant Week menu. * I ordered the baby greens salad, cheesesteak and fries and pecan crusted cheesecake with strawberry sauce. Salad — Awesome with the julienne-style apple slices and dijon dressing. So yummy and light. Cheesesteak and Fries — The BEST I’ve ever had and I’m from Philly! This steak, my friend, is what you call a REAL cheesesteak! It had cheddar cheese and onions but did miss ketchup(I added it in from the side ketchup for my fries). The fries were crisp, not too hard and golden! Cheesecake — I’m not one to say a food item is «to die for» but I will say it shall not be missed! The pecan crust was so buttery and perfect for the soft and sweet cheesecake that oozed the strawberry sauce(even though my friend had more sauce than me, but whatever lol). * My friend ordered the baby greens salad, sesame seed crusted salmon and the cheesecake as well. She also ordered a martini called«A Fresh Breath of Pear» recommended by Eden. Salad — Equal feelings about this salad. We ate it so fast, no picture was taken lol. Salmon — Her salmon looked awesome but when she cut it, it wasn’t done to her liking. She stopped another server walking by and told him it wasn’t done and the waiter said that the salmon is «usually cooked medium rare.» The waiter took it from her and reordered a fresh new well-done salmon which she liked. Cheesecake — Same sentiments. :-) Martini — My friend at first thought the martini was too strong and she took sips of water in between. I thought she didn’t like it until she drank more and ended it. After she said it was«delicious» and she«never had a pear drink before.» A heads up about the atmosphere: Very nice, kind of reminds me of a ballroom with the stairs. The bar is long and full of drink varieties. I love how they had a room for the wine bottles in the middle of the bar leading to the ceiling. By the way, if you have to go to the restroom, it is up those stairs in the main room, turn right, then up a small flight of stairs. Don’t wait until the last minute to go or you will have to make that long trek lol. Overall, we loved it would definitely go again! My friend wants to go again next week with her husband for the second round of Restaurant Week for dinner.

While I was only here for the restaurant week lunch menu, it was a great experience. Not as intimate as one would hope as they seem to be structured more for the business meeting crowd during the day, but the friendly staff and delicious food make up for it! Would love to try again for dinner sometime soon!

I’ve been to the Del Friscoes in Boston and the Grill and now this one… this chain does not disappoint! I’ve always had a great experience and this was no different. Ever member of the staff was fantastic. Shout out to Corbin for taking such good care of us! He was so knowledgable about the menu so this review will be littered with fun facts. We started off with the VIP cocktail, which is just orange vodka soaked in a pineapple for 2 weeks… yes please. They start you off with this melt in your mouth crusty bread. I wish I asked for some to go. I didn’t see any appetizers that really appealed to me so my bf agreed to split the onion rings. They are Yuengling beer battered. My bf got a filet mignon and I got a salad, but we shared the lobster mac and cheese cooked in truffle oil and fresh sauteed spinach. You must try the mac n cheese. The only thing that threw me off was the bathroom was dark as hell. Ladies if your on a date bring a flashlight so you can properly check your makeup because you will not be able to see with that lighting. Other than that I will be back!

I’ve been here many times in the past and have held this place as one of my favorites in Philadelphia for years. Recently, each time I’ve returned my experience has not been as I remember and this past time was horrible. DELS! What’s happened :( steak sent back Asparagus raw Mac and cheese had the entire box of salt in the dish(chef should try the reorder to be sure it doesn’t taste the same way the second time around) We ate each dish at separate times because everything had to go back. No manager came to acknowledge Totally disappointed Spend your money at Barclay prime. Same price point

Absolutely love this place. I’ve never had a bad experience for the amount of times I went. My steak is always cooked perfectly and the drinks are good as well. It can definitely get busy and I recommend everyone to always make reservations before coming here, otherwise, you’ll wait forever. If there is something everyone has to try in this restaurant, it would be to try their lobster mac and cheese. ITIS A MUST. I guarantee you, it will leave you craving it for another day. Recommend this to anyone who loves steak and wants what they’re gonna pay for.

I’ve eaten at the branches in Houston and Dallas. I’m really glad I ate twice at the Dallas one, since it was the most low key and since it’s now moving to a mall. The Philadelphia outpost is enormous. It’s probably a great place for a drink, but if you like the people you’re eating with, don’t go here. It’s too noisy to hear anything but yelling and not conducive to a good meal. Also, way, way too much pepper on everything. I shouldn’t taste just pepper on a $ 40+ steak and the mashed potatoes to «share» shouldn’t taste only of pepper. Not worth the $ 400 cost. And that’s not including tip for the nice but overwhelmed waitstaff.

I came here tonight for a work holiday dinner type of thing. A party of 5 arriving just after 5pm had no trouble getting a table. By the time we left around 7:30, it was crazy packed — but I think a lot of that was due to company holiday parties and probably is not normal. The hostess was nice enough to seat us way upstairs by the wine vault because there were a lot of large parties making the downstairs very crowded and noisy. All of the staff seemed very helpful and considerate, actually. The hostesses always checked to make sure you were following them, people came to clear away dishes even though you weren’t their table… overall a nice friendly feel from everyone. This particular location is housed in an old bank, so if you go downstairs when you first come in, you can see the huge vault door. Kind of cool for ambience. But at the same time — all of the marbled surfaces and high ceilings make for tons of echos — even at our table away from the parties I found myself shouting instead of talking by 6pm. I ordered the Blackberry Ginger bourbon cocktail — quiiite delicious. I’ve had similar drinks elsewhere before though. My table decided to get a bunch of appetizers and«sides» and just go in family style. That worked out because I don’t eat steak, but the appetizers and side choices all sounded great. I think my favorites were the cheesesteak dumplings and the lobster macaroni and cheese. It is very expensive. It’s a chain, and first and foremost a steakhouse, but it felt like we *and I mean, my boss* paid mostly for the scenery. The food was pretty good although I felt like the food that I ate was comparable to any other chain restaurant, just at twice the price. Overall, a nice place if you like having fancy wine choices and I assume a good place to eat steak. I would probably come back to do some drinks/apps again if I was feeling like I had money burning a hole in my pocket. But I would highly recommend going to a local restaurant over this big chain if you want to go all out and spend $ 30/entrée.

Del Frisco’s is home to one of the great bars in Philadelphia. It’s vast expanse is mesmerizing, and it becomes more vast with every delicious cocktail you quaff. Del Frisco’s also is the place to been seen; even on a random Wednesday night, the place was jammed with glitterati, politicos and movers and shakers. One suspects the bar has become a magnet in the aftermath of the the Four Seasons Hotel’s closure and the Ritz-Carlton’s precipitous decline post-Chef Ripert. At a recent outing, we cut a wide swath through the menu. Everyone raved about the cheesesteak lollipops, the jumbo shrimp cocktail, the steak tartare, the wedge salad and the composed salad of beefsteak tomato and red onion. As to the latter, the dressing was superb but the salad would be improved if the onions were soaked to reduce their pungency. The table’s entrees included various cuts of steak, the lamb chops and the veal. The carnivore chorus sang their elation in perfect harmony. Although not on the menu, I enjoyed a dinner portion of filler-free jumbo lump crab cakes. The best crab cakes I have had outside of Annapolis. Standouts among the sides were the garlic spinach and the lobster mac and cheese. Our friends singled out for praise the potatoes au gratin(far too dense with cheese for me), the asparagus(with sliced almonds) and the mushrooms. I surmise the onion rings were not a favorite inasmuch there was no positive commentary. The table’s desserts received also rave reviews. The misnamed«chocolate soufflé» was actually a lava cake accompanied by the most gorgeous vanilla ice cream with chocolate chunks. The other crowd-pleaser was the butter cake. The table’s cake-eaters declared it «delicious.» There is no question that we will return.

Del Friscos 1426 Chestnut St Ste 28, Philadelphia, PA19102(215) 246‑0533 Del Friscos Philadelphia is one of 12 locations spread throughout the country. Famous for their steaks, I would say the Del Friscos in Philadelphia is also famous for its atmosphere. It is located in a huge building right in downtown Philadelphia a minute’s walk from City Hall. The building was a former bank and displays lovely Corinthian columns and carved ceilings with an imposing wine elevator in the center of the restaurant. Certainly not for people dining on a budget, this is a special occasion or date type of restaurant. Dinner for two can be expected to run around $ 180, conservatively. The shrimp cocktail to start was good, not the best I have tasted but good. I will say, Del Friscos needs to match up the presentation of their dishes to the prices. For such an immaculate and grand atmosphere and setting, you would expect the food to be dressed a bit nicer. Lamb(2 Double Cut 8 oz. Chops). I order it medium and it came out a bit more rare than medium. Still palatable though. The cut of meat itself was very good and the teriyaki type sauce with it was nice. Again, not much in terms of presentation, but taste was very good. The sides are served family style so everyone at the table can share. These were Sauteed Mushrooms. Again tasty, but nothing to rave about. Potatoes Au Gratin. Potatoes Au Gratin is ultimate French comfort food. It involves layering thinly sliced potatoes with heavy cream(a lot of it!) and grated cheese in a gratin dish. These were tasty as well, again presentation suffered tremendously, but the taste was good. A well executed crème brûlée for dessert.

The restaurant took over a bank and did a great job at making it look like an awesome high end steakhouse, complete with a dining room in the old vault. Got there for an early dinner and found a seat at the bar. Took time for the bartender to show up. Ordered a Woodford Reserve on the rocks and asked to see menus as I was early for my reservation and wanted something to hold me over. I think the bartenders were sucked into a vortex as I never saw one again. Fortunately the manager on the floor and sommelier came by and asked if I wanted anything. Ordered a shrimp cocktail which he brought out immediately. His name is Eric and that started the turnaround. My buddy finally arrived and we were seated at a booth downstairs. Our waiter Andy rocked. Brought over warm fresh bread right away. Shared the specials and gave his recommendations. Since it was a special occasion — my friend is moving across the country to accept a promotion — we did it up. Split a 16 ounce lobster tail(100 bucks right there), each got a fillet minion on the bone. Sides were the recommended lobster mac and cheese and onion rings that were HUGE. We split a Caesar salad that was delicious and plenty. They gave us their signature lemon cake due to the problem I had at the bar which was a nice touch. Got a bottle of Cabernet sauvignon at a great price that was good. Have to mention Johnny Doughstacks whose line is when nature calls welcome to my stalls. Great guy. Does bathroom pampering better than anyone I’ve ever met. A class act.

This place is amazing. The building is more gorgeous than any steakhouse in Washington, D.C. except probably Joe’s. The entrance is awesome. We used the valet around the corner from the front of the restaurant and only had to walk a short distance. We were there early on a Sunday(around 5PM) but we were not treated differently despite the fact that we were dressed casually because of our travel during that day. We immediately glance into and upwards towards the huge ceilings. We wanted to sit on the second floor, one of the corner tables to overlook the restaurant and really enjoy the grandiose nature of it all. However our hostess informed us that«The upstairs is closed.» We settled for a booth in the downstairs dining hall against the window facing the bar. The bar has the proud slogan carved into the marble«Do Right and Fear No Man». Our waitress was kind and helpful, I ordered a salad and a drink(they have an awesome drink menu), and we ordered appetizers. Then we were surprised when we saw someone upstairs! I was immediately disappointed, did the hostess misstate that it was closed? We asked our waitress about the possibility of moving, she asked the manager to help. The manager was patient and service oriented. He immediately said of course we could sit upstairs and choose anywhere we like. Our waitress followed us to our table upstairs. They were very accommodating and even offered to comp some of the meal due to the misunderstanding on the hostess’ part but that wasn’t necessary. We honestly didn’t want to leave, our corner table overlooking the entrance to the restaurant, bar, and dining hall made for a fun dinner over great food. This location is actually 3 stories tall technically with a separate wine cellar, private dining, bar, and bathrooms downstairs below the 1st floor dining hall. I highly recommend any steak lover visit this location for an experience unlike most steakhouses ambiance.

My favorite steakhouse in Philadelphia! And that’s not just my opinion — Local celebs agree! I’ve seen my fare share of athletes, news anchors and politicians here(including the mayor!) First off, the servers are amazing. High in energy, and extremely knowledgeable of the menu, they can definitely make a suggestion if you’re a first timer. Every time I’ve come here, the steaks have been perfectly cooked! Top grade meat that just melts in your mouth. The filet mignon is a classic that just hits the spot. Enjoy your steak with one of their many sides, which I also think is the best of any steakhouse. The lobster mac and cheese is a must, with enough crunch and flavor to get you hooked. The side of mushrooms is also one of my faves. The wine list here is extensive, but I was perfectly happy with the house red. But it’s nice to have options :) I always walk away from here extremely happy, and I wish this feeling to everyone! If you can, try dining here when it is NOT restaurant week for the full experience. You won’t be disappointed!
