I can’t believe I’m so lucky to live across the street.
Ground beef is usually $ 4/​pd.
Best prices on lunchmeat and sliced cheese.
One time I needed sausage, and had to wait a while, but then I heard the grinder in the back. Fresh sausage! More often than not, their prices are lower than Acme.

This is the decline of this place —
I went in today, I had promised I’d not go back — but, desperation of need vs. time to go elsewhere lead me there.
I needed 1 lb. of ground beef. There was a prominent sign — Ground Beef — $ 3.99 a lb. (Asian market at 12th and Washington is very lean and under $ 2). .. but, I’m here —…
I didn’t see any so I asked, pointing to the sign — «do you have any ground beef» —
«how much?»
«1 lb.»
Not a problem — he ground it — with VERY fatty beef. .. probably a 70 — 30 mix…
And, then charged me $ 5.99 a lb.
Done.
No more.
Seriously, guys — hang it up.

Here is something new. I went to them last week and asked if it was possible to get me a whole pig to roast. Naturally I knew the answer was no but to my surprise the owner Joe said when do you need it by so with a smile I said next week. He didn’t even ask for a deposit because he knew me so long story short it came today and it was still warm thats how fresh it was and for $ 1 less per pound than the Italian Market. Joe & Bruno thank you so much and expect a few pulled pork sandwiches tomorrow.
