I really hate writing a not so good reviews about a local neighborhood spot, especially one with a great manager/​employee. CGC is a new café with Wifi in the Germantown area. The manager is a really really great guy named Herb, and we had a long discussion about food and travel (two if my favorite subjects) and we really hit it off well.
Now for the not so good stuff, as you enter the café, you are engulfed by paint fumes because CGC. is surrounded by a huge auto body shop. Herb tried to write it off, saying that you won’t notice after a while. Well that was not the case for me, sorry. The the coffee was way mild for my taste and even with 2 shots of expresso it was a little too tame. And I think the most annoying thing is that you can’t put in your own cream and sugar to your coffee. CGC does however have nice baked goods available, another problem is that the only electronic outlets available are on the far wall.
I hear that CGC has a great spoken word and open mic night most Fridays.
