I would say things have improved here since the last reviewer was here, since it has been over 4 years(and it sounded like it couldn’t get any worse). It was a quiet evening and the restaurant next door(Benton’s) wasn’t open but they were serving the same food. Service, at first was a little slow. One waitress came to our table to ask if we wanted a high chair for our son. Then another waitress came up to our table about 5 minutes later to take our drink order. My wife had an iced tea and the cheeseburger without the bun and with the red mashed potatoes. She was pleased with the burger and potatoes. It wasn’t anything to go crazy about but it wasn’t bad. The iced tea looked a little weak but my wife said it tasted fine. I had a Yuengling and the orange ginger chicken with broccoli and a side salad. The chicken breast maybe weighed 4 oz., it was TINY. The broccoli was fresh and so was the side salad(mixed greens, onion, tomato). Our bill with tip came out to approximately $ 48, which I thought was expensive until we went out for dinner the next night where we spent even more. I guess that’s the price to pay to eat in the Historic District of Philly, or anywhere in Philly.

The worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. Period. Sign one, it’s in the lobby of the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, but it was raining, the Phillies were in the World Series and I thought that might inspire them towards mediocrity We had only three dishes, which might lead one to believe, they didn’t sample the menu enough, but of the three two were so god awful, I can not possibly assume that they do anything else better. Calamari tasted like rubber bands coated in cardboard and the frozen onion rings had been massacred beyond any possible resemblance to the actual food. The service was awful, so awful that we brought our own beers and stayed for a good 45 minutes before they took our order. Please dear reader, avoid this like the plague, although it might not seem like it there is a wealth of other places to go, just get a block or two away from the hotel, even with the most torrential downpour.
