Have been coming here consistently for several years. Their main attraction is that there’s no wait time for a Sunday brunch, unlike the crush at Hymie’s and Murray’s. But they also have good diner food, reasonably wide menu selection, decent prices, and free wi-fi. The kids enjoy a variety of pancakes and usual kids meals. We’ve usually had good service as well.

I Guess when Overbrook park turned into West philadelphia, City line deli took a dump right along with it! Recently I walked over with my father from wynnewood, where I grew up. I guess the owner’s got smart and sold the place, the prices are higher(to be expected with the economy of course.)But the quality and portions shot to hell! I got a Jewish hoagie and it wasn’t the store made pastrami and corned beef as I was use to from before and from Hymies and the delis in NY and cherry hill. Nothing was awful, but definitely not like before. Do the drive into Merion and hit Hymies!

This place isn’t super fancy on the outside, but it’s clean and friendly, and they have all the items you want in a good deli. We used to eat at Hymies all the time, but now we’ve switched to City Line Deli. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for real belly Deli food this is the place. I come here a lot I just don’t check in a lot. The food it’s good very good and the service is just as good. Love the matzo ball soup. Even had chopped chicken liver here and that was very good. The only thing as the Greek salad. Anchovies do not go on a Greek salad.

I’m actually a little surprised this place doesn’t have more Unilocal reviews. I suppose Philly Unilocalers just don’t bother with this stretch of City Line. I enjoyed what I ate here. The place doesn’t look like much, but they have a solid menu of diner and deli choices. The corned beef sandwich is as good as advertised. The matzoh ball soup was passable. They’re not Hymie’s good. But they’re good enough.

We went for breakfast and had omelets. The place is not fancy, and it could probably use a little renovation, but the food is good and the service is excellent.

My family and I have been coming here for the past 20 years as it’s walking distance(or a really short drive), affordable, and usually has an open table. The food is always good, the prices are always right and it’s comfortable. Of course the décor leaves something to be desired… but thats A-OK. This has been and will continue to be my family’s staple breakfast place. Best for groups of 4 or less however, as the only tables that seat 5 or more are in the back by the wait station, kitchen, bathrooms, storage, etc…

Management has changed hands in the last 2 months and now the service is horrible. Wait staff doesn’t listen effectively and doesn’t provide the basics like silverware. Today I was presented luke warm tea. When I asked the waitress for another hot tea she assigned the task to another wait person who took my tea to another table who ordered coffee. When the lady remarked that she didn’t order tea, but that she would keep it, they didn’t bother to find out who ordered the hot tea. 3 different people waited on my table who were not in communication with each other, neither of which bothered to make sure that I had eating utensils. When the young lady remarked enjoy your meal after it had been brought to the table piece meal, I replied how can I with no silverware. Meanwhile, the food was setting on the table getting cold. I still hadn’t received the tea. When I spoke to the new owner about the poor service she offered an excuse that it was her fault but never offered a solution to fix the food that was getting cold or the tea. I told her that while I understand that doesn’t make me feel any better about the service. Her reply was that she would remove the tea from the bill, but still didn’t address the now cold food. My advice is to save yourself the aggravation and go to the Greenleaf Diner down the street.

I love City Line Deli! Yeah ok, it has changed hands since I started coming here but the food is still really good. I usually get the corned beef special or pastrami reuben and take my order out and those two sandwiches from here have failed to disappoint! Plus they don’t skimp on the meat so I can usually stretch it out to two meals! When I stop by it’s usually a mixed age crowd in the dining area(not a bad sign.) It always looks nice and clean and I’m usually greeted with a smile. I definitely plan to sit in and eat one day soon.

My friend who resides in South Philly will be pleased when I tell him I found his deli! I recently moved to this area and had yet to eat here. One side is Delicattesen, like the kind you find in New York. You can purchase deli meats and cheeses andother Jewish delicacies. The other side is the restaurant. So, I ate in restaurant breakfast. It is very clean. I tried a Guacamole Eggs Benedict. Delicious. I also liked the café coffee, strong enough for my taste buds. I think my South Jersey friends would also like this café. Happyto have a breakfast restaurant nearby. They also have sandwiches, wraps, salads, bagels and lox. yum. I will be back and bring friends.

Dinner/gourmet deli — this place serves the best breakfast i ever had and i have been all over the U.S. and every time i take someone there, they all agree. also best cheese steak in Philly, Geno and Pat’s are tourist food. also the hidden treasure at this place is the Jewish gourmet deli — homemade corned beef, pastrami, white fish salad, nova lox, kipper salmon all delivered from NYC. service is great and for any issues, contact the owner, they are around all the time and they will make you a priority. love the décor as well, old-school, old-fashion and that’s because this place have been around forever. it’s a must go eat place if you are around city line or main line area.

Someone needs to film a movie scene here, if they haven’t already. Step into this place and take a trip back to decades ago, with wood paneling, formica counter tops edged in chrome, vintage signage, and all the kitsch and accoutrements of the best old-fashioned Jewish deli. I had a pastrami on rye — moist, succulent, fragrant slices of delicious pastrami piled between buttered slices of rye bread. I think I had an oral-gasm! Service can take awhile, so call ahead if you’re in a hurry. But don’t be in a hurry. There’s lots to look at in this place — check out the vintage Coke ads they have framed opposite the cold cut counter. Oh my, the seemingly normal but somehow suggestive things they were doing with Coke bottles in hand! That was back when subliminal advertising was allowed, if you know what I mean!
