I took my pairs of shoes there for a repair on the heel which came off accidentally on one of the shoes, and the owner was neatly dressed, took it serious, got me seated inside and watched him repairing. He was very prudent and careful in also repairing the part of the plastic part at the bottom of the heel for me too and inserted two wooden sticks into the holes from previous heel so that the new ones could be attached on it robustly. While only one of shoes needed repair, he changed both for me so that both would be balanced. For the cheap price, that was way over my expectation!

Found this place on Unilocal while visiting from out of town. He did a fantastic job and was inexpensive. I would go back! :-)

It may look back alley and sketchy but the guy will sit you down and let you observe what he does. Brought my Maddens to be soled at the heel and the guy did the trick for $ 10. Not perfect but hey, it’s the bottom of the shoe. And it’s cool watching a guy do his thing.

We Unilocaled Chinatown and surprisingly found no one to do any leather work, say a shoe repair or tailor. Luckily we stumbled upon one while shopping. Don’t be discouraged by the humble appearance of the shop. This guy is pretty nice and does his job. A disclaimer, I am not sure of how well he speaks English, so bring along your favorite Mandarin/Chinese speaking friend to facilitate your visit. We went by and got some extra holes placed on the strap of a leather handbag. He did a good job. His prices for punching some new holes in leather depends on the quality of your material. He charges $ 5 for top of the line, brand name bags, $ 3 for mid-level items, and $ 1 for your knock offs. The holes we not perfectly centered centered on the strap upon closer inspection, probably 1 – 2 mm off, but good enough! I can not comment on his shoe services or alterations, but there was another customer getting new soles for her boot.
