I order a steak, wings, taco and quesadilla. The waitress said the quesadilla was tasty. She was right it was good but the rest suck. The steak had no flavor, the wings had too much powder on it and the tacos meat was hard to chew.

We(a bunch of loud and obnoxious 20-somethings trying to find a nearby nightlife spot to celebrate some birthdays) stumbled into Cherry’s Lounge at 9 o’clock on a Friday night after an unsuccessful attempt to go to Liquid Charm a few doors over. We had not expected a dead silent hotel bar full of middle-aged men drinking beers by themselves or sitting at tables eating scrambled eggs while typing away on their laptops. We sat down awkwardly and ordered some drinks while we figured out where to go next. The drinks were reasonably priced($ 4 draft Yuengling and $ 7.50 cocktails) and the service was nice enough, but we ducked out of here as soon as we could. Summary: good if you’re a hotel guest looking to have a drink in peace and quiet. Not so good if you want a rowdy night on the town.

Hotel bar? Absolutely! This restaurant/bar is attached to the Four Points Sheraton, which I’ve also reviewed quite highly. I loved Cherry’s Lounge because it was attached to our hotel and it was convenient for breakfast and lunch. Prices were good, service was better and the food was the best. They had standard breakfast fare(of course) but everything was made to order and yummy. Open late(if there’s customers) so you have a place to go for a late night drink. The seating was comfortable and the décor modern. TVs for your sports watching(or news watching in the AM) pleasure. The restaurant was never so crowded that it was difficult to find a seat or eat in peace.

Yes, this is a hotel restaurant bar. BUT it’s trying to cater to the neighborhood as well. Living in Chinatown, there are not that many local options for a low key place to get your drink on. I first went in here because I locked myself out of my apartment 1 block away. I was blown away by the fact that everyone at the bar was from the neighborhood, they weren’t scary Hotel Barflies either. Young professional types getting a couple drinks and shooting the shit before moving on for the night. Then I sat in here with the kitchen staff watching Frosty the Snowman. That’s just awesome. The drinks are very reasonably priced for Center City, but it is a corporate place. Don’t expect a lot of buy backs and heavy pours.
