Honestly, best cupcakes I’ve ever had. A couple of friends used to frequent the cupcake lady truck when they were in Philly for concerts so I’ve heard about this place for years, but just made it out for the first time this weekend, and I could not be happier with what I got. I don’t know what happened to the people complaining that theirs were dry, mine were both very moist and the butter-cream frosting was light and perfect. They keep them refrigerated, which I would recommend doing, as the one I left out overnight on the counter was a little dried out in the morning, but still fantastic.

I can’t understand why anyone would give this place anything less than Five Stars! The Cupcakes are amazing, moist and delicious. (I have no idea how anyone could think they were dry, maybe they just have no taste buds) I’ve tried several different cupcakes from them and I have never been disappointed. The service is great any everyone there is always extremely nice and helpful! If you haven’t gone here yet, go!!!

What a wonderful little spot! The fancy cupcakes are frequently on sale, but worth the price they normally charge, anyway. The Turtle cupcake(a fancy) is so decadent and delicious… I also got a red velvet(a standard) which I could eat 6 of in one sitting. Recommended!

I walked in at the end of the day and(almost thankfully) only had a few options to choose from. I went with a standard chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting. The cupcake was sooooo dense and moist. It was fantastic! The frosting was firm and flavorful(I hate the frosting that is really soft like cool whip). I am actually really thankful that they close so early on weekdays otherwise I would be scampering over there when late night chocolate cravings strike!

I had tried a cupcake from the Buttercream truck about a year ago. It wasn’t that great, but I figured I’d give Buttercream another chance. I was going to a friend’s house for lunch and decided to bring these for dessert. I walked into the store and was greeted by a dirty look from a woman who was on the phone, and she continued to be on the phone throughout our whole transaction. It took at least minute for her to acknowledge me and that I was interested in buying some cupcakes. She held up her finger to tell me to wait a minute while she finished her call. I stood there and looked at the pathetic selection of cupcakes she had in the display. She only had about ¼ of the flavors that are on the menu. If I wasn’t already running late at this point, I would’ve walked right out based upon the experience us far. When she finally got around to helping me she was interrupted by about three different phone calls and explained it was a «delivery dilemma» she was dealing with at the time. She never once apologized for being so rude. Anyway, I finally got my cupcakes and left. And guess what? They sucked! The cake was totally dry as noted in a previous review as well. My verdict, don’t bother!

Was craving sweets yesterday and needed a cupcake. I remembered hearing that Buttercream set up roots right around the corner, and I was long overdue to checking it out. The boyfriend and I went over to check it out. Expectations were sky high from the reviews we’ve heard of this place. We’ve seen the food truck out and about tons of times, and have heard rave reviews about these little cucpakes from heaven. We just hadn’t gotten around to checking them out! The shop itself is adorable. There has been a ton of turnover there, so they really didn’t have a lot of work to do to make the place adorable. There were a few different varieties of cupcakes in the glass window, so we began to discuss. We landed on 3 different upcakes– 1x red velvet, 1x chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream and oreo frosting, and 1x traditional chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting. The plan was to split 1 now, and split the remaining 2 after dinner. We opted to split the traditional chocolate bottom/vanilla buttercream frosting first. We put our speciman on a plate a cut it ino 4 pieces, which was easy to do because the cupcake was pretty much frozen solid! We took a bite, and were taken aback at how dry the cake itself was. It pretty much crumbled in our mouths. We got to the frosting part, and per the name– the buttercream was great! A bit dense, but delcious all the same! We figured we’d let the remaining 2 cakes sit on the counter until we were ready to eat them later that night. We went out to dinner, hung out a bit, and made sure to stop for some milk on the way home. Clearly the issue was lack-of-milk to wash the cupcakes down with. No cupcake should be eaten without lots and lots of milk… right? right? Fastforward ~ 6 hours to cupcake time #2– we split the red velvet and the oreo cupcake in half and each took a plate. The results, however, were the same! The chocolate cake was really really dry. The red velvet was a bit better, but still not quite awesome. The frosting on the top of both of them was the exact same, with the exception of the oreo pieces in one. Maybe we ate too many… but I didn’t even make it through my cupcake. It was just too sweet for me. I was hoping that the red velvet cupcake would have that cream cheese hint in the buttercream frosting. The oreo cucpake did have some chocolate ganache on the inside which moistened up that bite. The ganache itself was DELICIOUS, and i noticed that they had a cupcake wtih the ganache. If I go back, I’ll have to order that. I really really hate to say that I didn’t care for these CUPCAKES based on being an avid avid local business/sweet fan, but my boyfriend and i agreed that the local Shop Rite makes cupcakes that we prefered to these. The people behind the counter couldn’t have been nicer, and the store is adorable, and I really hope they stick around. I’m just not sure I’ll be dragging but butt to the gym to burn off anymore buttercreams… and I’m really not happy to say that.

I was excited to hear the Cupcake Lady was going to open a shop in my new neighborhood. Boyfriend and I wandered over after brunch to see the space, say hi, and grab a cupcake. I’m doing a no-sugar month so cupcakes are 100% off limits, but what the hell, it wouldn’t make any sense to welcome her with just a wave, now would it? She talked me into the special: apple cake with a cookie butter buttercream frosting topped with pecans and cookie pieces. Boyfriend opted for a red velvet. After a little bit of chitchat off we went. No surprise, the cupcakes were amazing, the cake moist and the frosting light and airy and not sickeningly sweet. Welcome to the neighborhood, Buttercream!
