Arslan Salon and Spa

just FYI, they don’t do threading anymore :(my search for threading in university city continues.

I just went to this salon during my lunch break, and what a treat I had! A spa pedicure that was totally relaxing and waxing services-​all at a great price!

I had been going to another salon for color and was tired of leaving with dye all over my skin, so I decided to give this place a try. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The place is really clean. I had the best shampoo of my life, oh my goodness. It was basically a scalp massage. My color looks great, and I didn’t end up with any on my skin. My SO got a hair cut which was expertly done. Considering it’s the city and not the ‘burbs, I think the prices for color are on par with places of similar style and skill.

I find it very difficult to believe all these rave reviews after my experience at Arslan today. I was charged $ 15 for a chin wax advertised at $ 5 also overcharged for an eyebrow ($ 10 vs $ 7 in their flyer) and they told me I was getting a «deal» on a $ 15 manicure (advertised $ 12) by knocking off a few bucks.
I had really wanted to like Arslan, and I would have been happy paying a fair price. But having a great deal in your pamphlet one day and charging 3x more doesn’t fly. It was so embarrassing and humiliating, because I knew the prices were lower yesterday when I went in and grabbed a pamphlet.

I just went here with my sister for a birthday outing and we both loved it! First, it’s a beautiful salon with really nice floors and furniture and right when we went in we felt like it was a nice place. They offered us drinks and refreshments while we were waiting. When we got our nails done they were done by Ms. Toni and she really knew what she was doing. Our feet look and feel great and we had a lot of fun while we were there! I definitely recommend it and it has a nicer atmosphere than Diamond Spa (much more spa like rather than simply in and out nails). I’ll definitely be back!

So excited about this place! It’s right around the corner from my house and I’d been meaning to go there for awhile. Finally stopped in today to get my eyebrows waxed, and discovered that they actually have threading on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays! It’s hard to find good threading in the whole city, nevermind in UCity/​West Philly. Eyebrows are $ 7, a good price, and Sarah knows what she’s doing for sure! The place is really clean and bright and relaxing, too, and the manager Amber is really nice. Really excited to go back for a mani-​pedi sometime!

Okay, so where do I start… I followed Amber (salon manager/​hairstylist) over to this salon bc she is just sooo awesome. Amber has been cutting my hair for at least 3 years now. I have nothing but good things to say about her… She is very meticulous and loves what she does. A born Hairstylist looking at it like an art form. So when she told me that she was starting at a new salon. I had to come check it out right away. And it was so timely because I was due for a cut and color. The salon is brand new and yes it is shiny and beautiful as the last reviewer wrote… the décor is perfect and the chairs and equipment are top notch. Everyone was so friendly and professional. While my color processed I opted for a pedicure and not only is amber a great hairstylist she gives great pedicures as well. The massage chair was really comfortable and the products that they used on my feet… woah!!! They smelled soooo nice, a real eye opener for the senses. A clay mask for your feet… seriously amazing, I didn’t even know there was such a thing!
I will definitely be going back here in the near future, and will try out some of their other services as well.

I don’t treat myself to a manicure very often, but I heard it through the grapevine that this new place had just opened up a few blocks from me.
This place is so cool, I don’t even know where to begin. For starters it’s brand new, so everything is glossy and shiny and pretty. They offered me coffee or water right when I came in, and I was seen right away even though there were nearly 10 people inside.
My manicurist Amber spent a solid 20 minutes trimming and sanding my nails to perfection. She was friendly but not overly chatty the way some salon people can be, and she really made me feel welcome and appreciated.
I left with nails that shined like diamonds, and I know for SURE I will be coming back here for other services!!!
