I had 48hrs in Philly for work, wanted to find something a bit different; light, healthy, something made by those living in the city. That brought me to Animo juice bar. The place had a warm, sort of worn down feel, which made it comfortable to sit in and hang out for a while. The staff were incredibly kind, funny, welcoming, and conversational — the sort of thing you hope for in a place sitting in the heart of a city. I got the 16oz Nirvana and the salted peanut butter cookies. The nirvana, made with carrot, mango, banana, and cantaloupe, was superb. It was a proper smoothie; a crisp taste from the cantaloupe and carrot, and a sweet mango flavor made this drink last far too short of a time. (The cookies were great as well) The next time I make it back to this fantastic city, I’ll be sure to stop in again for an hour(or four).

Unilocal says it opens at 9 on Saturdays. So does their window. I came by at 9:15 and found locked doors and no signs of life. Sad day.

Today, I tried Animo Juice for lunch and opted for a small burrito bowl. I ordered the works: rice, beans, cheese, guac, jalapenos, and all the salsas. It was better than expected, great actually, and tasted way better than Chiptole and other chains, however, I spent $ 8.50 for HALF the portion I would receive at an chain restaurant. If I opted for a large, it would be spending nearly $ 11.00 and that is definitely not in my lunch budget. I give props for the tasty and fresh food but a no on the price.

Just paid $ 11.25 for a watered down acai bowl, a portion size which is so laughably small that I’ll have to spend the same amount of money else where for an actual breakfast to feel full. The girl working the register when I came in did a disservice to her store by telling the customer in front of me that none of the Kombuchas where sweet and the guy wouldn’t like them… They are Babas brew which are probably the sweetest most pleasant tasting Kombuchas I’ve tried in the city. I’m giving it two stars because at least my service was quick and it’s not busy here in the morning. The bowl was tasty but it’s bananas and almond milk with fruit so hard to mess that up flavor wise. Just wish I didn’t pay for an overpriced smoothie in a child’s sized bowl for something less than stellar that I could of made at home.

Smoothie was good, but this place is a bit pricey. $ 8 for a large protein shake(24 ounces). Either way, I went out with friends and the food was good. Lovely seating with fresh flowers and infused water for patrons.

Where do I start?! I absolutely LOVE this place. I was a huge fan of the Haddonfield location and so excited to have them cross the bridge! I just feel good every time I eat here. My husband thinks of himself as a juicing expert and he swears by their juices. I personally can’t get enough of the frozen banana treats and burritos of all kinds! Thanks Amino for making amazing food!

Visited Philly for a couple days and wanted a quick, healthy meal. Breakfast burrito is one of the best I’ve had. Went back the next day to try a smoothie and protein blend did not disappoint. Would be a regular if I lived here.

First time trying this place after getting rave reviews from co-workers. Got there a little before noon and the place was jammed! That being said, the line moves really quickly and it gave me time to peruse the menu. I ordered the kale-quinoa burrito bowl and added tomatillo salsa and jalapeños. I also had to try one of the juices. Settled on the carrot/orange/cantaloupe juice. Fantastic! The food was so fresh and felt like a party in my mouth. Will definitely be back to work my way through the menu!

Ok I’m not sure why I waited SO long to try this place, probably because every time I have came in the past there is a freakishly long line, and I always happen to be in a hurry. Well, finally, got the chance to juice it up with my veggie burrito bowl. The bowl was super flavorful and fresh, def going to get this again! I got a veggie burrito bowl, told them I like my spice level to be extreme(I love spicy food) and that’s exactly how it came out. Don’t worry, I’m positive they have the average spice level avail, not everyone wants spicy. I got the Lime Light juice, which was carrots, Apple, ginger, lime and celery. Absolutely delicious! It’s refreshing.

I absolutely LOVE this spot + wish it was closer to University City area. The menu options are unreal — ranging from frozen banana treats, to smoothies/juices, to healthy/light mexican fare. Literally all of my favorites in one place. I’ve tried a smoothie before(which was amazing!) as well as a frozen banana with added granola, fruit, and peanut butter. It was delicious and totally worked as a lunch substitute. Ambiance is cute as well. Definitely an amazing lunch or afternoon spot. Prices are a little on the high side, but I guess that’s to be expected for any«juice bar/smoothie» spot. Especially since there is food as well!

Definitely going back. All I had was a smoothie this time but the salads look amazing and the service is quick and friendly. It was pretty packed too so I’m surprised everything was finished so quickly!

To busy that you don’t even have time to chew? Get a juice that will fulfill your needs, keep you full and maintain that hourglass figure. I got their CinCity which is a delicious juice, naturally sweet and healthy. Honestly, anything that has spinach banana and milk is a win in my book. Add some honey, cinnamon and PEP, you are golden. I think this drink was the only reason why I didn’t pass out on my 6 mile run post a long day of work. Thank you Animo!

Healthy and delicious at a reasonable price. That about covers it. No need to bombard you with big words and witty analogies. But listen, The Chicken and Guac Burrito was one of the best I’ve ever had. And the Cin City smoothie is damn good. Animo is Spanish for Energy, and you will feel energized after eating here. You feel lighter on the feet, not the wallet. Check it out.

Animo Juice, where have you been all of my life? Before I travel I always turn to Unilocal and I always plan in advance where I will be eating. I wasn’t planning on hitting up central Philly on my first day, but after looking through photos/reviews/menu, I couldn’t resist. Food: I ordered a regular cin city($ 5.95) upon the cashiers recommendation and a chicken+guac petito($ 6.50). I had a red-eye from SF to Philly and I was so beat, this place was the perfect pick-me-up/energy booster. I asked the cashier what she recommended for some energy, cin city contains cinnamon, your choice of milk, banana, spinach, honey, your choice of protein powder. My drink was tasty and provided me with tons of energy and it was a great source of protein. It was honestly difficult for me to decide what to order, every drink sounds delicious, I really just let the cashier decide for me and I wasn’t disappointed. The petito came with a side of chips and salsa, I didn’t eat my chips, but they looked healthy and delicious. My wrap was wonderful, the chicken was grilled, fresh and very flavorful… everything I could ask for out of a wrap. You can tell everything is made with high quality ingredients, lots of care and love! Service: Wonderful, very friendly staff, patient(took me forever to decide) and helpful. Price: Maybe it’s just the California girl in me, but anytime I step into a juice bar I expect to pay about $ 20.00 on my meals. My meal cost me less than $ 13.00… very affordable for the high quality you’re getting. Ambiance: Very hip, cute, clean and modern. You can easily come here and study and people watch through the big windows. Overall: LOVE! I tried coming back, but unfortunately my flight was too early. Next time I’m in Philly or NJ I’ll visit Animo(which means to encourage in spanish).

Had their Chocolate Banana PB Smoothie! Mmmmm!!! So good, but very decadent! I saw them put a massive glob(or two) of PB in the blender. This is deff a dessert type of treat! So good, but not for those on a low fat diet. I also had their Vegan Quinoa bean and sweet potato special. Some people on Unilocal were complaining that their wrap was small??? Maybe I got lucky, but my wrap was plenty big and satisfying. This wrap is spicy regardless of the quinoa and wrap breeding to dull the spice. It’s not for those who have a weak spice tolerance. My mouth was on fire, but it was so good!!! If you like a spice in your food, order this! I also got their vegan banana chocolate chip muffin. It was okay… not the best but not the first. The Sweetness came from the chocolate chips. I could tell there wasn’t too much added sugar, which is nice, but it was also slightly bready tasting. Again, not the best not the worst. The facility is super clean and has the awesome«modern/urban look!» I am a fan of the place. If I had more time, I’d actually hang out at the place. Great location close to Suburban station, and great friendly people!

I am unfamiliar with the city of Philadelphia so when I travelled there for work recently, I asked for a few recommendations from my colleagues. They recommended Amino for a healthy, casual, quick lunch, and it definitely fit the bill. I got the kale and quinoa salad with roasted vegetables. I asked for the lemon basil tahini dressing on the side because I usually don’t like restaurant dressings, but this one was superb. It was slightly spicy and had a strong basil flavor. I will definitely return here on future trips to Philadelphia.

There are soooo many choices. And ya’ll know sometimes that’s annoying. But it’s ok. Forget the name of what I got but it was the smoothie not juice option with carrots, cantaloupe, etc. They have juices & smoothies and some simple(banana, strawberry) and some more adventurous. Also split a large kale & quinoa burrito. Wasn’t amazing, but not bad either, had a nice spicy kick. On the small side, so if you’re hungry, even the drink/burrito might leave you wanting more. The mission burritos reminding my original stomping grounds in San Fran *heartheart* Juices & Smoothies — $ 5 – 6 Burrito Large — $ 8 {on the pricier side, as all specialty healthy places are, but definitely a try!} Our cashier was SO nice. She kept smiling :)
