Are you ever searching for Afghan fast food? If so, you’re in luck with Afghan Kabob House. I think it’s a cool concept … it just needs more polishing at this Cottman Avenue spot in Northeast Philly. By polishing up their act, I mean for example not having to ask for cutlery or salt & pepper when you’re eating in at one of their tables. The good news is that the Banjan I ordered was def on the tasty side and the Naan-e Afghani bread was fresh enough. It’s not worth a special detour to get to this place but if you’re in the neighborhood like I was and feel like eating some Afghan food, check it out. Tip — Ask for some Chatni sauce to add a little spice to your meal

This place is pretty good, I come here about once a week and I really enjoy it. For the price you get a whole lot of food. I enjoy the chicken kebab platter

The food here is very authentic and really delicious. They have fresh bread to go with orders that you won’t find at another restaurant, the bread is so good and one of a kind. I love their rice and kabob dishes. I usually get chicken and lamb kabob w bread, salad and banjaan or eggplant. The meat is very tender, juicy and well cooked. The eggplant is one of my fave, it taste especially good w bread. Their spinach and chickpea dish is also really good. The atmosphere is very open and its really good for a large gathering or even a party! If you havent had afghan food, give this place a try. It is more like home comfort food than restaurant style but really worth it!

Very clean neighborhood establishment, the lighting is almost hospital like. Atmosphere wise, you can see the owners are trying but it is kinda depressing in there. The food, however is out of this world. I love to try new and different things so I gave this place a shot, I’m pleased and far from regret it. I got #7, the lamb and chicken kabab combo, with a choice of a side. I picked the stewed eggplant. Every order comes with a side salad that is dressed in yogurt sauce, and a large pice of nan bread. The rice, chicken and lamb were perfectly cooked! The meat was nicely charred on the outside and super tender and juicy on the inside. The rice was flavorful and far from dry, and the eggplant was full of flavor, comforting and great to dip the bread in. The salad definitely was the cherry on top, it was fresh and the dressing is highly addictive. Overall I am pleased and will return to get my middle eastern fix.

Terrible service! Guy on the register was incredibly rude. When my cousin asked if we could take it to go, he rudely handed us a box and a bag to pack it ourselves. And food was ok

Food was delicious. I had the eggplant and my friend had chicken tikka. The place was very clean and updated. The food was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the portions were large… we had leftovers! Good prices. The staff was very friendly and accommodated a few special requests we had. I highly recommend the eggplant!!!

I came here on my lunch break, first when I walked in I saw a short gentleman was standing front of his register on his cell phone. I said hello, how you doing? His response was rudely ‘what’s up’ I said I am doing good, how are you? His response was ‘what you want to order?’ with an Indian accent. It wasn’t like it was very busy no time to say Hello, whole place was empty. I said, may I order number 2 please, and I asked if it will take a long time? He rudely response 15 minutes. It says 7.99 for number 2 that I ordered, but he charged me 8.99 because the price went up and he didn’t get a chance to change it on the board. Food wasn’t too bad but horrible horrible customer service. Would I come back here again or refer anyone, no way. I rather go somewhere who appreciates my business.

Great food! So happy to find a kabob place in northeast philly. The service was fast and friendly. Casual but modern seating area. Expect large portions for just low prices! May Allah swt continue to bless them.

Very good food! Losing a star only because they did not have rice, and parts of the meat was slightly burnt. I would definitely come here again though

Good food. The family platters can easily feed 3 – 4 people with leftovers sometimes. They keep the restuarant nice and clean and the food is fresh.

This place is really great. A bit pricier than CC Halal but still amazing food. Very clean and large portions. I stick to falafel and rice salad myself. My boyfriend got the eggplant side and I tried some — very good. Glad this place opened up. We will frequent on take out nights.

Ordered two take-out orders of lamb and chicken with rice, salad, and bread. The food was ready in 15 minutes. When we arrived I noticed the place was dead, not one soul besides a 16 – 17 year old kid running the place. Took the food home and noticed how SMALL the portions are. I paid 18 dollars for very very little food. I also noticed they forgot to give me the rice! The food tasted great, except for the salad. I don’t think they washed the lettuce. I won’t be back.
