7-Eleven

What do you do when you’re up late at night and you need cigs, drinks, or snacks? Well if there isn’t a Wawa near by your next best place would be a 7 – 11. You can always count on them to be open for most of your needs. Over all the people in this branch are pretty friendly. My one stop for a late night weekend restock for cigs, coffee, snacks, and energy drinks. The ²⁴⁄₇ CVS here don’t sell cigs anymore and the ²⁴⁄₇ Dunkin is more of a grab a bite kind of place. 7 – 11 has a bit of everything in terms of those two places.

Ok, Unilocal,let me drop some knowledge on you: 7 – 11 offers free nacho cheese in all it’s many stores. That’s kind of pointless in most of its locations, but this one is special. This 7 – 11 is located just a stone’s throw from Center City Pretzel Company. You can stop here after buying soft pretzels in bulk and pick up a 16 oz. cup of hot nacho cheese, and it’s on the house. Dip on, Philadelphia.

This 7 – 11 has been under new ownership for a few months now. It’s taken a turn for the worse. I miss the old employees. They were attentive and did their jobs. There seem to be a lot of younger employees now and I have seen some playing with their phones a number of times. The shelves seem to be under stocked. My boyfriend and I stop at the Redbox often and would go in for microwave popcorn. For three weeks in a row there wasn’t any. It’s a pretty basic convenience store item so I was annoyed with that. Yesterday pushed me over the edge when I went to the ATM for cash and it said cash was temporarily unavailable. I use that one because I don’t get charged a fee. It may not be their fault but it certainly didn’t make me like the store any more. Granted this is a 7 – 11 so I by no means expecting a 5 star experience but putting it under new ownership has made it worse.

Ok it’s 7 Eleven, you know what your getting. Ok coffee if you need a cup, nasty food that has been sitting for most of the day… I guess you’d have to be really hungry to eat what’s there… I tend to go in the afternoon so maybe it’s fresher in the morning.
All in all it’s your average convienance store, I’ll usually pick up a pack of smokes or a coffee if I’m in real need of one.
Two stars just because it’s just meh… I’d prefer any Wawa over a 7 Eleven.

This 7-​Eleven is always clean, well stocked, and capably staffed. I typically visit here late at night after I get done with a night of partying/​DJing and there’s never a long wait in a line of fellow drunkards when I’m trying to buy taquitos, caramel bugles, and a DVD copy of Live Free or Die Hard. Their ATM is functioning almost 100% of the time and since it’s in close proximity to a police station, I never have a fear of «holy shit, someone is going to come running up in here guns blazing and rob this joint.»
This is also the one 7-​Eleven in the area that isn’t Panhandleville, USA and they don’t yell at you for reading the magazines while your cohorts decide which kind of Vitamin Water they want to buy and then subsequently drop and spill in the parking lot.

I have went to this store so many times in the past and believe me it was a big shock, when on Sunday, June 15^th between 2 – 2:30 pm (for anyone who might have been there.)…I remarked to them (again for like the 3^rd time that the iced coffee was watery (…me thinking it was possibly a fluke… but now knowing better…)The so-​called owner (she just said nina) told me I was wasting money on her cups tasting the coffee… but this is what she said to do… I ask her name and she says nina «and you can go and do whatever you want… this is my store». I told her I wasn’t aware I needed your permission. Also It was quite noticable that the front of the store reads 7Eleven… not nina. Anyway after her ranting and raving, to a full store which was billigerantly rude I went home and called 7eleven inc and lodged a formal complaint. They asked did I want to be called Oh yes I said bcoz if you don’t call me… I will call you… Also that day I had to calm my 18 year old son down he was crazy mad bcoz he was with me. I told him never let people manipulate who you are… even if they are skanks. People I do not know what kind of experience you might have had, or not here… but beware, becoz if you believe your being short changed in anything in this store that is when they act a fool. I will not waste my money again at this store. Take care and beware.
