This place I wouldn’t recommend at all to anyone. Very poor customer service here. My in-laws are in town and I really wanted some bonding time with the girls. So I took my father in laws gf to get our nails done. Let me first start by saying we walked in and got dirty looks from the owner like we were an inconvenience to her. Than we wanted 1 manicure and 1 pedicure and they told us they could do it. So I waited an hour to get my 5min manicure that should have been about 30mins and costed me $ 25 and not left bleeding or look like my 2yr old son painted my nails. Yes that’s right she pulled my skin right off around my nails and I didn’t stop bleeding, plus she tried to stop the bleeding my painting with gel bottom coat over it. Now my finger is swollen and blistering. Than my in law got a 20min pedicure that was so bad she didn’t even want to pay. She still has the dead skin on her feet because they barley bothered to do the bottom. Than they didn’t even take off her glitter nail polish and just painted right over it. Than they didn’t even cut her nails or clean underneath them. They barley gave her a message. Please save your money and don’t go here. I will have to go to the doctors if my finger doesn’t stop bleeding and swelling up.

First time today called for an appointment and my girl did a great job. I got the basic pedicure and manicure, and upgraded the mani to a gel. It came to $ 55 plus a 20% tip it is a high price to pay but im happy with my nails. It didnt get 5 stars because the salon isnt that pretty, and they use a straitup cheesegrater on your feet which works but is weird maybe its a special nail salon tool that looks just like a kitchen tool. When i went to wash my hands in the sink there was that cheesegrater and foot scrub sponge thing in the sink. I hope at least they were the ones used on me and not another customer i tried not to touch them. And my nail tech was sick. Dang Im critical.

This morning I had an appointment for a mani/pedi. First of all the tech was 10 min late getting to work. So I waited. Then didn’t know they didn’t take checks. So had to leave collateral until I came back with cash. But my real complaint is the job done on my nails. Looks like an 8 year old done them. They were done with gel polish so it has to be soaked off. The owner didn’t offer to redo my nails or give me a break of any kind. Definitely won’t go back. I’ll drive to Reno or Carson if need be. What ever happened to customer service???

KariAnn did a wonderful job on my toes. She was so gentle I almost fell asleep in the massage chair! She was very nice. I will be asking for her specifically when I schedule my next appointment.

Carrie at Modern Nails is great. I had scheduled an apt with Jim for a pedicure, but Carrie started. I asked about Jim and he was working on someone’s nail. I was frustrated at first because Jim had gotten great reviews and the last time I was here the pedicure was poor. I was nice and let her know my concern and the results were amazing! I will always book my apt’s with Carrie from now on! It’s been over a week and my feet are still smooth!

Not friendly and turned me down for a walk-in appointment. I took my business elsewhere, their loss.

Up until today, I would have given 4 stars. I have been going for about a year & I always make an appointment. I always request my technician. I came in at the scheduled time & either they overbooked or something because they switched techs on me. I felt like my request was not acknowledged. Ii was told that she could not do me after the other girl sat down to start. I had been soaking for 15 minutes. I didn’t mind waiting, but not for someone else. I got out of the ped chair & left. I won’t go back. I think prices are a little high, but it was close to home. As a customer, I want my money’s worth & be valued as a regular customer.

During my first visit, Jim did my pedicure. He did a great job. He spent a fair amount of time on the massage, which is my favorite part. My only complaint for that visit it that I chose a color from the China Glaze brand of nail polish and it did not last long. Each time I’ve gone back since I’ve always requested Jim and he does a great job each time. They have stacks of gossip magazines to read and the massage chairs are nice. $ 30 for a pedicure.

i only use jim. kim was a bit rough with me and tried to tell me there was nobody else that could do my fill. jim is extra sensitive with me as i have a compromised immune system also and my nails are super thin. when i can afford to go get my nails done i ONLY let him do them. they are moderately priced and friendly.

I went in to get a mani/pedi, I was really disappointed. I have issues with clean… wasn’t impressed. I brought my own toe separators, files, and foot scrubber, nail polishes, she was like confused? I explained that I had a «compromised immune system», that is the reason I bring my own stuff… wouldn’t you know she leaves me after soak and goes to get the razor… I didn’t need the razor and I wouldn’t use it anyway, I don’t want to get cut and get an infection. Won’t go back, very disappointment. And it was waayy to expensive for what I got.

Jim and Sandy are really friendly and great at nails. I usually will go here for my fill. I am not doing pedicures here because they don’t use the blade on your foot and I like my feet extra smooth. They have recently relocated to a space in the Fernley Village shopping center where Scolari’s is located.
