The park is a hidden gem. No kidding! Tucked away behind an ugly strip mall and a subdivision, is an emerald green swath of lawn and shady trees. This is my new go-to spot for a quiet picnic lunch when I am working in Fernley. There is a huge parking lot and mid day during mid week, there are usually only a few other vehicles there. There are covered picnic benches on the south side of the pool and a huge lawn with shade trees and a picnic bench along the west side. It is beautifully maintained and has always been clean every time I have stopped here. There are bathroom facilities in the pool building and they have always been very nice about letting me use them. Great stopping spot if traveling 95A south of Fernley.

i love the clean pool and the clean water. i try to go twice a week. once on the weekends by myself so i can do my workout. usually saturday 5pm swim with less kids. kids are okay. i just need a corner. we usually go on tues night open swim when the high school swim team isn’t using it from 5pm to 6 or 6:30pm tues or thursdays. but since they have it part of the year we have been going to the family fun night on wednesdays. i just wish it wasn’t so late in the evening. bedtime is 9pm and it barely starts until 7:45pm. so my grandson doesn’t get to bed til almost 10pm sometimes because he is riled up from the swim and his buddies. i do like the family swim pass. for $ 75 you can bring up to 5ppl 30x and it’s not monthly but indefinite. we bought ours after the new year and still have more than half the number of swims going twice a week. we also love the splash zone area outside. unfortunately the passes do not count for that and swimming is extra. it would be nice if swimming was half off if you get a bracelet for the splash area or visa versa. as it gets expensive to do both. otherwise i love the pool. i have since found out that they have a special splash zone pass for $ 85 for 30 visits for up to 5 ppl.

Ok, someone recommended the aquacize classes. I liked it but unfortunately got really sick and couldn’t return. Doc told me to wait for warmer weather. My son tried out the swimming just lap up and down, it was crowded and was not explained fully on how you had to share lanes. The(manager) came over because he was wearing a t-shirt, said he couldn’t swim, then the pool director came over and said it was ok. He won’t be going back because he likes to wear his t-shirt while swimming and he shouldn’t have been made to feel embarrassed because he didn’t want to take it off! I understand about the lint. We’ll be putting in a pool at home — problem solved!

I was doing the aquafit class before my new job started recently, and I loved coming here. Early morning, no kids… perfect. I did attempt to bring my 4 year old here last summer to the splash park, but they were having an issue with the water. We will try again this year, but I dont think I would come during the really crowded times

Recently, I took my granddaughter(age 3) to the Fernley Pool and found the review from Jennifer P., in March, is still a problem. The wading pool is VERY small and several older kids(I’m guessing between 8 and 10 yrs old, came from the large pool and played in the wading pool which was occupied by four little ones(ages 2 – 4) and their parents. Naturally, the older kids dominated the small space playing tag games and overrunning the pool. Neither the woman who was with them, nor the lifeguard, intervened to calm things down. Definitely an unsafe situation for the little ones. While the pools themselves are clean, they are undersized and overcrowded. Also, the wait to check in was unacceptably long with one slow person checking in while at least two other adults were floating around doing nothing… Lots of room for improvement here!

A few years back I took my then infant daughter to the pool to introduce her to swimming pools since they have a decent size wading pool. My daughter ended up getting hit in the head with a nerf football because there were kids horseplaying in the wading pool. I was pissed. I spoke to the lone lifeguard who was facing the larger pool. I was told that the kids were permitted in there not based on age but swimming ability. So the 8 – 9 year old boys cannon balling and throwing the ball around were not removed or even reprimanded for breaking the rules. I was even more pissed. The«adult» who brought the kids in said nothing, just looked at me. Done. F-this place. Fast forward 5 years … My mother and sister were discussing the pool with someone at Curves and the lady said her mother was the manager there now and that such things would NOT be permitted there now. So I took my 2 year old, and my sister brought her son and we went to the pool for open swim. My 2 year old was free, and it cost me $ 2.50. My nephew is 4 and it was $ 1.50 for him. So the prices are very reasonable. We went in and there was a life guard sitting at the empty wading pool. Yes, they have a lifeguard on duty IN the wading pool area regardless if there is anyone in there or not. The pools are clean, and they are currently adding an outside area(I’m not sure if it’s a full pool or just a splash park). From what I hear they’ve also increased the amount of swimming lessons they have making it easier to get kids in. I’ll continue going to the pool and taking my kids. I hope that the changes that have been made stick because it’s a HUGE improvement over what it was 5 years ago.
