Howie’s Painting

What an excellent experience we have just had with Howie’s Painting. The job that he and his crew did was done promptly, on schedule, reasonably priced, and with such attention to detail.
We hired John aka Howie to paint our house’s exterior. We had several companies come by the house to take a look at the job and give us estimates. Howie puts you at ease from the outset, as he is very approachable and is happy to answer your questions (however basic the questions may be. This was our case, as we are lay people to painting) and give thoughtful advice and suggestions about the project at hand.
In our case, we selected a bold color with custom trim requests. At no point did we feel that Howie or his crew were hesitant about it or not up to the task. They met our project with their own excitement.
We were very impressed by the extra time he and his crew took after hours on their own time to research our specific type of house siding to address a particular concern about them. He even called a colleague whose expertise is siding to get us more information. After letting us know our options and what to expect, he left the siding decision to us without pressuring us one way or another.
If you have to be away from home at work while the job is being done, he and his crew take extra care. At one point, there was a question of a possible smell of gas, and they contacted Consumers Energy to make sure all was ok. We did not have to take off from work to come home and address the issue. Thankfully, there was no gas leak anywhere.
The theme you notice in this review is that Howie’s Painting goes the extra mile. We are planning to hire them to paint our interior second floor whenever we get around to it.
The enthusiasm Howie has for the job shows. It was pretty cool seeing before and after pictures posted on his company’s website and seeing that other people via their comments noticed the quality of the job as well. That demonstrated the excitement and care he takes in his work.
Have John out for an estimate when next you have a paint job to do at the house. We highly recommend you hire them too. You won’t be disappointed! Also, leave some cold refreshments in a cooler outside if it is an exterior job in the summer. I’m sure they would welcome it, and it would be a small gesture for the fantastic, honest, and timely job you will have done at your home.

John/​Howie RULES. He did an incredible job painting several rooms in my Ferndale home (which were formally various colors of the rainbow). Not only is his work flawless and reasonably priced, but he’s very knowledgable on the subject and was more than willing to suggest quality brands and pick up paint on my behalf. He was also immaculately clean and never left a speck dirt or mess when leaving for the day.
Just like «Jennifer H.», I instantly clicked with John and trusted him to do work when I wasn’t home — so much so that I gave him a spare key so he could come and go whenever he pleased.
I was beyond pleased with John’s work and constantly get compliments on it. I would hands down highly recommend him to anyone looking for an amazing paint job!

Howie’s Painting did our entire house inside and out before we moved into our home in Berkley. John is thorough and attends to detail. He was neat, prompt, honest and reasonably priced. We could not be happier with the work he did.
