Love how small the place is, makes it even more of a treat! Must have the Bangkok roll, unbelievable! My favs are the lobster poppers appetizer, the dynamite, Mexican, lobster mobster, and the medusa. Great service and cute interior!

Never had the chance to try the sushi but I probably will eventually. Walked in without a reservation and ask to sit at the bar which was totally empty. The guy behind the bar said no. Hostess will seat you. No hostess. I was appalled by the young man’s tone … Not a… sorry ma’am …they’re all reserved… or anything close to polite. Left … No excuse for rudeness. I don’t care how good it is

Must be having growing pains. Food was good as expected, but very slow in arriving. Luke warm saki sent back for reheating… gone for 15 minutes… had to ask a different server to get it back! Server was no where to be seen for extended periods. Between the slow food and absent service an otherwise nice dinner wasn’t so nice. Will stick with take out or Misaki for eat in from now on. Hope the expansion includes improvements in both!

They advertise carry out only available from 4 – 5 but then they say takes 1 hour and 30minutes for it. Really?

We been to Flying Fish many 8 times. It’s one of the reasons we enjoy going to the beach. The best sushi we’ve ever had, anywhere! Barry and his staff have never let us down in the execution of sushi dishes. We found it best(and Barry prefers this) to just say we’d like 5(or 6 or 7 or whatever) rolls. Let him surprise you with a wonderful array of fresh compositions. You might get rolls that are on the menu and you might get rolls that he’ll make up right then. No matter. You’ll be sure to receive a varied mix of ingredients, textures and colors to satisfy your appetite. Be sure to try one of their special appetizers, too. Oh — and one of their«saketinis», in a large martini glass made with sake. My favorite is the coconut variety. I wouldn’t go with a party of more than 4 people. I think there’s a larger table behind the sushi bar, but have not really taken noticed. RESERVATIONS are a must, especially Friday and Saturday. Ask for places at the sushi bar.

Be sure to order the appetizers on special and let Barry, the sushi chef, build you a board of unrivaled sushi mastery. The presentation was spectacular, no detail was spared. All staff was knowledgeable and warm. Space is small and cozy so reserve a table to be safe. Couldn’t recommend this spot enough, enjoy!

I am giving this 5 stars because the food is spectacular. We went there a week ago and the service was not as good as expected. Someone order 14 rolls ahead of us and therefore our food took and hour. This has never happened in our previous visits. We love this restaurant but reservations are essential since it is small.

Came to Ocean City, Maryland on vacation. Was looking for a good sushi place so I checked on Unilocal and came across this gem. Everything tasted amazing! Fyi the restaurant is small so you need to make a reservation.

Great food! My family goes here every year! Our favorites are the tuna tostadas, the lettuce wraps and the Bangkok dangerous. The sewed salad is also very good and flavorful.

Went to Flying Fish without a reservation on a Friday night and we definitely lucked out by scoring two seats at the sushi bar. The sushi chef(I hate that I can’t remember his name… blonde, super nice, Virginia Tech student), was amazing! He was an artist with the sushi and was super pleasant to talk to. He really made our experience great! My husband and I left feeling like we had a special experience at a great restaurant and had a great ending to our vacation. Our server was pretty good(he was busy working a large party and my husband and I were pretty low maintenance so the lack of attention wasn’t too annoying). He was very accommodating to get us an appetizer that wasn’t on the menu, when he could have easily said«sorry, no.» The whole staff, environment, location, and especially the FOOD makes Flying Fish a new favorite. Definitely a highlight of our trip!

We stopped for dinner with two kids and two adults at 530 p.m. Tuesday night. We were told there is no seating and since we didn’t make a reservation we wouldn’t be seated for the whole night unless we sat outside with a major thunderstorm coming into play. How do you expect people at the beach to eat at your restaurant when you’re unwilling to find seating except for reservation? It’s not like we live here. Unfortunately you’ll never get our business with that kind of service. Sorry but I guess the yuppies winn. We will head up to 9th street. They always take care of the family.

What a great surprise! We were checking Unilocal for new places to eat and came across the Flying Fish in Fenwick Island. This is a small place, and they take reservations, which are highly recommended. We stopped by and after a short wait, we were able to get a seat at the sushi counter. Greatest seat in the house! We got to chat with one of the sushi chefs as he prepared our food, and the waitress was very helpful in assisting us with our choices. We got to watch the three sushi chefs work and create their beautiful rolls. We ordered the Red Dragon, the Bangkok Dangerous, the Hamachi Bomb and the Mobster Lobster rolls. The food was fresh and presented beautifully. The flavors were creative and well integrated. The prices were very reasonable. Best sushi in Delmarva! We will definitely go back and bring our friends.

AMAZING! By far, the best sushi in OC and probably the best on the Eastern Shore. I went with a group of girlfriends — we must have ordered 10 different rolls and 4 different appetizers, and everything was absolutely delicious. Be sure to make reservations — very few tables but so very worth it!

A great place for great, fresh sushi I’m always looking for new places to try out and really glad I found this place, great service(Craig), fresh, tasty food and nice ambience, if you like boutique type of places. This a a small place so call and make a reservation, especially during the summer! What we drank: Merlot Flying fish saketini Coconut saketini We order a bunch of small plates: California rolls Tuna rolls The Bangkk Dangerous — 2 The collosal crabs Snapper carpaccio Sweet and Spicy Lettuce Wraps Filet of beef negimaki pan crisped gyoza dumplings — 2 Homemade Lobster Poppers Dessert: Carrot cake Pineapple upside down cake The waiter made recommendations base son what we want to try and also provided tips on how to eat some of the dishes, this will be on my must go list when I’m back in Oct!

Flying Fish continues to provide outstanding sushi and sashimi dishes that are beautifully prepared. The specials(Mango Tango roll) are creative and delicious. Friendly, knowledgeable staff enhance the experience. Have had sushi on both coast and this intimate café is the best I’ve had.

We went here on the recommendation of my mom, who heard from a couple of local restaurateurs that this sushi was excellent. We were not disappointed. Sushi was fresh and the rolls had a nice local flair.(Fenwick, Hamachi bomb both w blue crab). Tasty and light. Service was slow, but not the waitstaff, just the sushi prep. The waiter was super attentive. I felt badly because clearly he was trying. Still giving it 5 stars because the sushi was so good.

The only appropriate word to describe my experience is INCREDIBLE. Coming from a big city, most sushi seems lackluster compared to New York, but this rivals even the best sushi places in NYC. The employees are so accommodating and genuinely want to provide the best dining experience possible. Every single roll is equally delicious and you really can’t go wrong with any roll or dish you choose. My two favorites were the Mobster Lobster and Fenwick Island, stuffed with the freshest of fish. They also have fresh wasabi, which was lifechanging. This sushi place is a MUST go to!

Flying Fish is an amazing experience. Our server, Craig, was knowledgable and also low key. He went over the menu with us and made several excellent recommendations, but didn’t rush us at all. We started with the blackened scallops appetizer that was a wonderful combination of spicy and cool. The blackened seasoning is homemade at the restaurant, and was spicy and flavorful. The rolls are creative, beautiful and delicious! We picked the«Real Eel» and the«Red Dragon» rolls which were both phenomenal. The next two rolls we had were picked out by Chef Barry and were also outstanding — the ESP and Bangkok Dangerous. The ESP was fresh and cool and wrapped in rice paper. We sat at the sushi bar and engaged in lively conversation with the sushi chefs and other customers. It was a really fun, interesting night that we completely enjoyed. Carry out is available, but not during peak hours, and I wouldn’t count on it. The restaurant itself is quite small, so reservations are absolutely recommended. We came here in April and were able to sit at the sushi bar without reservations, but I seriously doubt you could do that during the summer months. The seating could prove quite challenging, and I’d say this is the only negative thing I’d say about this restaurant because I really want to come back. I can’t wait to return to Flying Fish and try some of the other rolls and appetizers! Go to Flying Fish!
