Island Watersports

Always a great experience with them. I trailered my boat here last season and have had two boats serviced with them multiple times. They’re always responsive, respectful, and straight with me. They recently renovated and the place looks amazing. Happy to keep bringing my business here. They’re the only shop in the area that I trust. Keep up the good work guys.

Nice day the people were nice and so was the boat but the currents were way to bumpy and crazy it didn’t make it enjoyable at all we ended up getting completely soaked.

See below… This review was based on the previous owner– a real piece of work… Island water sports bought him out. Just did a little business with them– decent folks and I will go back. Don’t worry about previous bad reviews-​that guy is gone…

This place is horrible… Run, don’t walk away. the owner charged me $ 20 to put in on his ramp. I have him cash… After looking at the ramp, I saw there was no clearance for me… He refused to give me the $ 20 he had in his pocket… Just goes to show this guys ethics… Hate to be in a rental from this place …

We took the boat out and went wakeboarding and tubing all day. The boat ran great with no issues. The dockhand Will was super friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The owner runs a great business and obviously only hires the best. I would recommend this place for any family or people just trying to have a good day on the water!

We rented the biggest boat they had and experienced problems getting up to speed. In the end the owner was accommodating to the issue. If you rent this ski boat and have problems with speed, return right away and they should be able to sort out the issue.

This place was run very unprofessionally by a bunch of kids who were stealing drinks out of a vending machine out front. The Yamaha jet boat that they rented us ran terribly, making it almost impossible to tube on the u-​turn tube they gave us. I’ve been on a lot of boats some rented and some owned and I have never had a more disappointing experience. It was expensive and a complete waste of time.
There you go Mike, I’ll give you two stars because maybe it is our fault for not knowing how lacking jet boats are compared to standard inboard/​outboards, but also maybe you could have mentioned that to us since you knew how many people we had and that we wanted to tube.

Mike, you know that’s not exactly what happened. You can twist it however you want to. Obviously this is an ongoing issue for your company if you have to repeat something four times, which I did not hear. even your own employee said this happens all the time. Most companies would have corrected the problem, like maybe a thicker/​better rope that doesn’t break on the second try of wakeboard. It sounds like a scam, you give people a rope that’s not secure and then it breaks so you can charge them outrageous amounts of $$$. After reading all your reviews and doing some reseach sounds like you are running a shady company. Still don’t understand that we were able to drive the boat back, you obviously weren’t too worried about the engine. I also don’t understand how a 5 minute ride and being stranded for 2 hours cost us $ 1200. On top of that we were unable to enjoy all the extras that we purchased and it ruined our day. Any reputable company at the minimum would not have charged us anything and most would have given us a credit for the services that we paid for that we did not recieve!!! We did not hear an apology we instead got the worst customer service. I found you to be the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I was so disgusted by it I actually wrote my first review.
You should be ashamed of yourself, taking advantage of people while on vacation, sad!

Don’t use this company! Rented boat for 2 hours, within 15 min broke down. Tried to use wake board, rope snapped immediately, Sat for 2hours. Was not able to enjoy the services we paid for. instead of reimbursing us which any reputable company would have done he then charges us $ 1200. Even employee says it happens all the time so don’t waste your money go somewhere else to avoid scam!

Had a great time on a pontoon boat with the family! Great boat reasonably priced for the size. Easy to drive and maneuver. First time sailing and it was a great experience with the family! Went crabbing in the bay, loads if fun! Definitely doing it again! Great staff very helpful and friendly! Fantastic time! Call the day before to reserve! :-).

Went back for a second time this summer. Staff was great again and we can’t get enough of the new boats. Caught over a dozen crabs with their crab traps!

Great group of people and the boat trip added an extra view of the surrounding area. They have weekly rentals so something to keep in mind on the next trip. They offer a variety of water craft rentals, lessons and even fishing gear.

This is no longer action watersports. I was so nervous after booking and then reading the reviews. I told them about what I had seen on Unilocal and they assured me they were aware of it and that most people had great experiences with them. Also, that they had separated from the place with the horrible scam reviews. We got our boat, the young folks who worked there were bye nice and professional and then we went to the boat. While we didn’t get a ton of instruction, we didn’t really ask for any since we’d driven boats before. They were clear with what parts of the bay to stay out of and where to go fish. We found a nice spot to drop anchor and swim around. It was a great day and the 7 year old boys had a blast.

How do you give zero stars? I’ve seriously never encountered such terrible customer service in my life.
I’m an optimistic guy and even more so being that my family and I were on vacation but Island Watersports seriously came close to ruining an entire trip because of the disrespect and ugly attitude of one employee.
While demonstrating how to properly work a pontoon boat (not very difficult), the Island Watersports employee tasked with seeing us off insulted my father for «not taking this seriously» and was nasty to my entire family decrying that he didn’t trust my dad to operate the boat.
To be clear, my dad is a 62-​year old salesman that doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He was intently listening and observing the man like any appreciative customer would have done but for some reason this guy thought it necessary to berate my dad in front of his entire family.
Being timid tourists and not wanting to upset my dad anymore than he clearly was, we did our best to ignore the incident and took the boat out anyways.
My dad did the driving. He was awesome at it.
