Stan’s Fireplace & Chimney Service

This company worked as a subcontractor in my house after a chimney fire. He installed a wood burning stove improperly and it cannot be used as it sits. All summer long I have been told that there was nothing wrong with this stove or the chimney/​chase work that he did. After hiring a structural engineer to check the safety of my structure in the room that had the fire it has been determined that he installed a offset that is too close to the top of the stove. He did not install the pipes right they are not high enough to provide adequate draw (per stove manual). He did not replace the cracked and Spaulding bricks on the chimney they are still there. The chase inside the house is lop sided and the wall is going to stick out in front of the brick when the walls are installed. He left gaping holes in the pipes above the chimney that let in cold air and will let the heat out. He made a chimney cap but that was not done right either and it is holding water. Everything he did needs to be fixed or completely redone. He did not pull a mechanical building permit. I only wish someone had warned me before I hired work to be done on my house because my house has been sitting all summer long while I run around paying people to come in and see if the stove is safe to use. It has cost me a lot of time and money to find out that it has not been installed properly and cannot be used. I can’t rate this company or the contractor who did work in my house low enough, I personally can’t believe these two companies can even be in business. I feel so sorry for anyone who has any work done by him.

Stan’s is in Fenton, but he goes all over. His team is always very clean and respectful. His prices match his quality and service. You could go with someone a little cheaper… but you will pay a lot more later when low quality turns to bad construction and you have to call Stan to fix it.
