I’m lucky that I drive by here twice a day, five days a week. The cheese is perfect! I can’t even list off all the varieties. If you can dream it, there’s a good chance it’s there. The store itself is small, but it’s packed with cheese, sausage, and spread. Igor, the mascot, happens to be featured in a Wisconsin iconic history book.

Carr Valley is some of Wisconsin’s best Artisan cheese and I never miss a stop at Fennimore Cheese when i’m in the area. There are SO many varieties from Carr Valley, my Girlfriend and myself usually spend a good hour looking around. Some of my absolute favorites would include Rufumo(smoked cow’s milk cheese), Mobay, Nanny Goat Reserve, any aged cheddars… as well theirs curds are always squeeky. A true destination in Southwest Wisconsin… not to be missed by any cheese lover.

Two words: Cheese Curds These two words pretty much some up what my childhood would taste like. Especially the cheese curds from Fennimore Cheese! They did /still do have a big fiberglass-like mouse who stood on its hind legs holding a platter of cheese who went by the name«Igor». My siblings and I had a car game that focused around Igor.(We would often travel Hwy 61 back then.) The jist of the game was that the first to see Igor would automatically win. Squeaky goodness in a golden nugget! I dare someone to find a better one.(That isn’t deep fried.) X-P
