Customer Service is definitely the goal of this shop! I called and spoke with Inez about needing service for my 30+ year old Kenmore sewing machine. In the conversation, I was asked when could I come in and probing information about my problem. Inez said I would be dealing With LeAnne, and she would pull any parts that might be needed, so LeAnne would be able to easily & quickly help me. Not only did LeAnne do an amazing job cleaning and tinkering with my machine — she made recommendations of what I could do on my own, she performed minor repairs FORFREE! I kept offering to pay, but was told it was part of what Quality Sewing & Vacuum was all about. Tabea, another employee set me up with classes that would help me further with my older machine, and showed me around the shop. Building a bond with their customers is what retail is supposed to be about — I am forever a customer to Quality Sewing & Vacuum!!! Before you think that you cannot afford shopping here, I looked at prices of many products, they are VERY competitive with larger, chain fabric/sewing shops. The time given to me was amazing, and not usually seen in the larger chain stores. Sure, I may still hunt down parts for my old machine online, but this is my new«go to» shop for sewing needs! I could have been sold an expensive service on my machine — which it could use — but I was told that it just wasn’t cost effective, unless I had an emotional bond with my machine. When I am ready to come into the 21st century and get a new sewing machine, Quality Sewing & Vacuum will be my trusted retailer! I was told for my level of sewing(I am just a hobby user of sewing machines) what are some of my best options and even different price levels that would fit any budget. Getting to know their customer and not talking down to me really impressed me. Showing me their store specific website for classes available encouraged me to actually do more in my sewing room! THANKYOU, Quality Sewing & Vacuum!!!

I came here to buy a few industrial machines for my new business. The sales girl was so knowledgable about the machines. I found two that perfectly meet my needs. The shop offers free classes(unlimited) on how to use the machines. They really inspired confidence.

Tried to get a vacuum fixed 2x now and both times the repair tech refused to work.(A different vacuum both times). Each time the tech said he could not order parts and each time we were eventually able to find them easily on the internet. The second time wasn’t even brand specific, it just needed a new power cord because our puppy chewed the cord. How can you brand yourself as a repair location when you don’t even want to put any effort into actually fixing something? We would have been willing to pay for the labor and the part, but he didn’t want to put in the effort. what happened to the days when a place would go out of their way to make a customer happy? If I thought that he couldn’t have fixed either repair easily, i woudn’t write this review because i understand that sometimes you cannot recover the cost that it would take to repair, but that was not the case here. In each case it was a 15 minute effort with no more than a 15 $ cost. We were willing to pay $ 100. I can’t say anything about the sewing division and the employees that sell those services, but I can say that they should remove the repair option off of their services. He has no customer service skills whatsoever.

I’ve taking some sewing classes here and bought some sewing related items. I have not used their vacuum services or bought any expensive items(machines). As for the classes, they are small, friendly, helpful. They may start 5 minuets late but depending on how your doing(lots of questions/help needed ext) they can run a little over the allotted time, which I didn’t mind, just don’t fill up your schedule afterwards. You can sign up online, there is even a FREE class where you can bring in YOUR sewing machine with the manual and they will show you how to use it! The other classes I’ve been to they provide the sewing machines.(Kinda fancy pants sewing machines)

I love this place. I purchased a beginning class via groupon, and ended up signing up for 3 more classes after that. I have never sewn before, and the classes helped to make everything less intimidating. Everyone is really helpful here.

Called them when the belt broke on my Dyson DC-17 and was told I had to replace the entire transmission, at a cost of $ 75(not including labor, if I had them do it). Five minutes later, I’d ordered one off of Amazon and watched the video of how to install it. I’ve had more positive experiences here in the past, but it seems like the vacuum repair aspect of the business is geared towards maximizing profits at the expense of developing a clientele. Needless to say, I’ll do my shopping elsewhere… UPDATE: I got an email from the owner in response to this review apologizing for«inaccurate information» and explaining in some detail the situation with my vacuum. He also said he used my review in training with the staff, so I upgraded my review to 3 stars. I’d still maybe get a second opinion on repairs(a good idea in general anyway) but at least they’re responsive to complaints.
