This place literally just let me wait for almost 30 minutes; there was one worker and six customers in front of me. When I got up there they said they could not break my hundred dollar bill and I literally had to leave empty handed, hungry, and Late for work. They are understaffed and under prepared. There is a very small sign on the cash register that lets you know that they do not except $ 100 bills. The type of sign that you only see upon facing the register, in a small corner of the room. It is just not a well put together store…

I’m a frequent ECS customer at the Stewart St, Seattle branch and the Tacoma branch. It’s where I work and go to school, but I live in federal way. Always great to go into those post workout for a healthy smoothie.
This specific location is open until 7…7:00pm every day, Sunday only until 5, and they’ll close their doors early sometimes. Contrarily, Tacoma’s one is open until the posted time (8:30pm). So if you have a job/​school and workout, good luck finding this branch during open hours.

Gave this place a try the other night and was pretty disappointed. I walked in and wasn’t greeted at all. The girl seriously took two minutes to even acknowledge me because she was making a smoothie but there was no one else besides me at the front…
I got a mango mania and it tasted like someone just dumped a whole thing of sugar in it. Super gross and I could only take a couple sips. I like Jamba Juice way better. Not planning on coming back even though it is very close by.

Every time I come here I state at the menu board for 10 minutes and then I get the Rejuvenator. There are so many choices.

I’ve lived one mile from here every since they first opened. I actually discovered Emerald City Smoothie when they opened their first location over by Sea-​Tac Mall.
In all the times I’ve stopped in there over the years, I can’t say I was ever not greeted with a smile and «how are you doing today?». The girls and boys working there have all been energetic and outgoing. Overall they seem happy at their job.
As for consistency, yes I’ve had great smoothies and then mediocre smoothies at this location, it can vary. They are all made by hand on demand, and each person could make them slightly different. Even with that said, I still stop in here on regular basis when I have the graving for a Berry Berry, which is my all time favorite.

Parking was okay, I found a few open spots before 6pm.
No lines inside, nice, clean, well-​lit, and quiet.
Two people worked the counter-​they were polite and courtious.
I received a nice, «Hi, how can I help you?»
At first I wanted a Rejuvenator in a regular-​sized cup. The attendant said that particular smoothie came in tall or mondo-​sized cups. Well okay, give me a tall. Then my eyes locked onto the Sambazon smoothie right below the Rejuvinator, and I quickly changed my mind-​one Sambazon smoothie Mondo-​size, split into two smaller cups. The attendant was very accommodating, and grabbed a frozen block of acai. In a few minutes, I paid under $ 10 for a Mondo Sambazon smoothie. It tasted pretty good. This place is ok.

I’m so sad to say I have to give this place a 1.5 star.
Multiple times I’ve been at this location, and I always walk out a little bummed. I have yet to meet one person that works there that’s not super passive. Even walking in and asking, «how’s your day so far?» Is usually followed with a no-​eye-​contact answer of, «oh…good…» I’ve long since given effort in trying to make conversation.
On top of that, I’ve never had a consistent drink. Matter of fact, I rarely ever actually end up getting a good drink here at all. It’s hard to put on a finger on what I dislike about the drinks since none of them are EVER the same, even when I order the same drink all the time.
I really do wish this place would improve itself, but after coming here and never being happy, regardless if it’s just down the street, I’d much rather drive all the way down 320th to go to the other location instead.
