Burger Express

Great shakes, and unusual selection of flavors which is a plus. Very good frys, and pretty decent Burgers. Frozen beef patties, probably from Costco, but good nonetheless. What makes this place special to us is that it’s a neat neighborhood dive, someone’s actual personal business. Support your local businesses like this unless you want your children to always eat at Applebee’s like a corporate trained robot.

Looks nothing special on the outside, but when you go inside it has the vibes of a 60s diner. The burgers here are great! Very juicy, not greasy, and many choices to choose from. Your burger comes with fries. Also, the workers here are very friendly. Need to come back, and try the shakes.

I want to give them a 5 so bad because the food was very good so a 5 for the food. A zero if I could for customer service. I walked in and I was never greeted they just stared at me and I had to ask them if everything was okay and if I could order. They was the girl at the register was staring at me was as if she never seen a black girl and I did not receive once hello, thank you, greeting, anything. They made my food (which they messed up on) and that was that. It was good but the experience was so uncomfortable that I will probably never go there again.

I’ve been going here for a few years after looking up burger places in Federal Way and it’s always amazing. Great service and even better burgers. Keep it up!

I’m all for supporting local businesses and this place is a huge find! We were greeted with a smile and the waitress happily answered all of our questions. I love the old school interior and the restaurant has 3 TVs.

–The shakes were thick and creamy– just the way I like them. The real fruit shakes had fruit mixed in so I love that they were made fresh.
I’m a fry girl and this place didn’t disappoint. The entire bottom of the basket were fresh fries. I took an entire togo box of leftover fries home– talk about quantity.
–Single w/​a basket of fries: Nice size and juicy burger with fresh ingredients. I added cheese & next time I’m getting grilled onions too.
–Western burger (came with fries): It came with BACON, what’s not to love. The onion ring had a nice crisp to it as well. In other burgers I find the onion rings to be soft and that beats the purpose of fried food.
–Hot wings: The crispiest wings I’ve ever had. I love when you can hear the crunch on a wing. It wasn’t spicy but it didn’t lack flavor.
It took 2 mins for the shake, 8 mins for both burgers, and 10 mins for the wings. Getting our fresh meal within 10 mins is express, especially considering I’ve waited 10 mins for fast food burgers which don’t compare to this place!

Stopped in for a quick bite. We thought Burger, Express, Burger Express. Must be a burger and they must be quick. Well the burgers were great and the fries were even better. The atmosphere is old school and homey. The only criticism that I really have is that there was nothing «express» about the place. I am not sure because of the take out orders or handling the drive through but they were extremely slow, you know the slow that you want to go ask if they have forgot you. I would still stop in again but when we have more time.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. My favorite burger is Mushroom burger and Fair burger and western burger. So juicy and tasty ! and I like blueberry shake and fried shrimp.

Great place for a burger and fries. I would pull in here long before I hit one of the popular fast food places like burger king or mcnasties. This place has some good fries, great fry sauce, and the burgers are great too. I like the unique menu, my favorite is the Fair Burger. Anyway, can’t go wrong here if your looking for a good old fashion burger and fries for lunch.

Good burgers and shakes horrible employees worst service the food is good though when they get your order right just sat on hold for 30 mins. Could hear them all playing around while I just sat there on the phone done with the federal way location will go to Tacoma been going here for years but enough is enough they constantly screw up your order and when you have to drive all the way back they don’t even apologize just like everything else in federal way gone to crap if I owned this restaurant I would fire everyone close it for a month to clean the entire place might take 2 months it’s so dirty lately and hire someone who actually knows how to run a restaurant and manage people

good for dining out, I feel sorry for the people who work there as the meth heads frequent this place. Just get it to go or use the drive thru, no tweeters to worry about that way. Awesome burger, just take it with you.

I like this burger joint because of the 50’s theme, although they take it far with how beat up the furniture and tables are, but when it comes to the food… Now that is where the 4 stars come into play. I ordered the garden burger, fries, and the deep fried mushrooms to eat. Let me tell you that I was not disappointed, very fine comfort food! Also, really great milkshakes with real fruit, every town has it’s sweet spot for these, and you won’t find better.

It may not look like much from the outside, but isn’t it those kinds of restaurants that always taste the best? Totally!
The burgers are hearty, flavorful and completely filling. I got the Western Burger which had two onion rings, bacon and BBQ sauce, plus all of the fixings and I ate the whole thing. Each burger comes with a generous pile of fresh-​cut fries so you’re sure to leave completely satisfied.
My only two «desireables» were these: I wish I could have just ordered the burger without the fries as my husband got a burger with the fries as well and we hardly made a dent in the amount of fries we ate. They seemed to sell the burger and fries together no matter what. And don’t be fooled by the name. Good food comes to those who wait, so «Express» is not indicative of the speed at which the food comes out. But for as delicious as it was, I was happy to wait!

I wish I’d never found this place, because as Michael Scott says, they have ruined all other burgers for me. The inside is terrible (wood paneling, tables that look like the owner found them on the side of the road and a few metal signs nailed into the walls in what I assume is an attempt at decorating) and the bathrooms are actually frightening (just trust me on this one), but you’ll forgive all that when you try one of their burgers because they are just that damned good (I’m sorry for my language but sometimes you just need a swear word). All the employees I’ve interacted with have been at the very least pleasant, if not downright friendly.
I love how you get an enormous basket of fries with your burger — there are a few chains that don’t offer fries automatically (FIVE GUYS) and I mean seriously — how can you have a burger without fries? It’s practically Unamerican. It might even be in the Constitution.
The last time I was there I thew caution to the wind and ordered a chocolate shake as well — it was huge (I know it doesn’t seem very big but it fills you up quick), very thick and extremely delicious — my husband and I shared it at lunch, got full and gave up, shared some at dinner, got full and gave up, and then finally shared some the next day at lunch again. It was that big.
I also love supporting a local place — it’s easy for places like Red Robin to swoop in and put places like this out of business — so it’s nice to know that despite questionable décor and a shady location (right on Pacific Highway next to a pawn shop); a place like this can still thrive by serving good food at reasonable prices.

This fast food joint looks like a dive from the outside. However, give them a try. Their burgers and fries are exceptional.
A friend took me here for dinner. I’ve driven past it a hundred times but never tried it since it looks sketchy and didn’t have a word of mouth about it. We went in the drive thru. She got a shake and we both ordered cheeseburgers and fries. We waited 15 minutes for the food and the kid forgot her shake so that was another 5 minutes.
The burger was great and fresh to order. The fries were baked, hand cut and they gave us huge portions. They season them with salt and pepper.
I didn’t see the inside.

My husband & I frequent this place when we’re craving burgers & fries. The burgers are hand pressed daily & they’re juicy & tasty, fries are fresh cut skin-​on & crispy, and their bacon is sliced butcher-​thick and cooked crispy! The lettuce, tomato, and onions are always fresh.
Burgers & Fries: I usually order from their Smaller Deluxe Burgers list which does not include fries, but it’s the perfect size for me (and I’m a good eater): the Single, add cheese & bacon — perfection! My husband always orders from the ¼ lb Char Broiled Burgers list which includes tons of fries, so he split’s them with yours truly. His go-​to burger is the Bacon Cheese Burger.
Shakes: Chocolate shake — I wouldn’t get it again because it was heavy on the syrup, but others might like that. Banana shake — you can’t go wrong with fresh fruit! Would definitely get that again.

Without a doubt the best cheeseburgers in the area! Decently priced and they even have a drive through.
I’ve never been inside, or tried anything other than the burgers, fries and shakes, but apparently they have hot dogs, fish and chips, and chicken fingers too.

Yasssssss bomb and fresh with the right amount of greasiness lol. Had the western burger, it had the right amount of bbq sauce in it. Crispy thick bacon. And the deep fried mushrooms had a good flavor to it! Kinda messy but it’s tasty. Oh! And the milkshakes had real fruit which made them taste reaaaal good

Let me start off by saying that I fippin love hamburgers; I even have a life size cheeseburger tattooed on my leg. That being said I was so stoked to find that this place was literally just 400 feet from the hotel I was staying at and after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try despite the delicious per-​prepared meal that my girlfriend had already packed me for my trip.
I ended up ordering the Boz Burger which stood out as being the superior choice of the burger menu. I could not believe the size of this thing when I got it, it was literally the size of my head. The burger was insanely delicious and the topping combination was on point. What I really liked about this place is that the burger patty was the star of the meal. Nowadays so may places make burgers where you can barely even taste the meat itself (I’m looking at you In-​N-​out).
My only complaint is that the fries kind of sucked. Maybe it was an accident but I could not taste a single grain of salt on my fries.
Overall whoever is running this place is on point and making the right choices. Staff was very friendly too!

**UPDATE… These are not the same burgers as they used to be. The hamburger meat does not taste like the fresh ground beef that it used to be. it absolutely tastes like the prepress patties that you get flash frozen. Tasteless beef. Sad **
The food is awesome. The burgers are the best. They are made fresh to order. The drive thru tends to be a long wait but you know you’re getting the food made to order. Since the current owners purchased the place years ago they’re not much for cleanliness so it actually looks pretty disgusting if you go through the drive through during the day when you can see the nastiness. They need to come out and clean the place up and make it look more inviting. I don’t think they’ve had a best food award in five years but maybe because people are afraid to come in it looks kind of dirty. But the burgers are awesome! A real treat
