Whoever said there are no good Korean restaurants in the Seattle area and that all good Korean restaurants in the US are located in California, needs to be slapped in the face for saying/thinking that! Bogul Bogul Café is damn good! SERIOUSLY! There were 6 of us and we ordered and shared the Chuyneu Bosam(with clam soup) combo $ 28.95, Cheese Bul Dak $ 13.95, Chul Pan Pork BulGoGi $ 11.95 and the Dolsot Bibim Bap $ 8.95. OMFG, everything tasted soooooo good! The food was so flavorful and great portions for sharing among 6 hungry people. There were an abundance of clams in the soup! The rice and the fixing on the Dolsot Bibim Bap were so crispy and tasty! I loved how the Cheese Bul Dak was so cheesy and stringy! The marinated meat on the Chuyneu Bosam was soooo flavorful! I just didn’t like how there were tons of kimchi that came with the dish. It was a tad too overwhelming! I loved how the front of the menu showcased all their most popular dishes! Makes it so easy to order! They have a red«call» button on each of their tables to easy service calls. Screw going to AYCE Korean places! Prices here are CHEAP and all 6 of us left super full! It basically came out less than $ 15 per person after tax and tips. $ 15 for quality Korean food! What a deal! Yes!!! I’ll love to come here again and I’ll highly recommend others to come here!

For a late night Korean food craving in Federal way, this is the spot. They offer a pretty typical variety of Korean foods and side dishes. I particularly like the pork bossam and pork or beef bulgolgi. dishes range around $ 10 – 20 and are definitely shareable. One main dish can usually be enough for a light meal for 2 people if you include the side dishes that complement the meal. For a group of 3, we typically do 2 main dishes or risk having a ton of leftovers. Best part is they are open until 2am. I’ve called at 1:30am just to ask if I could place a to-go order and they were more than accommodating. They also have a hot cocoa vending machine which is surprisingly nice after a meal there. Some cons: service can be a little slow. The later in the day you visit, the more fatty meats you get. They also frequently run out of staples like kimchi, spicy cucumbers, and dried seaweed sides(my favs). At least they substitute with other sides instead of leaving you with less food. Overall, I don’t make it a point to go here on a regular basis but if I’m craving Korean food or it’s late and I’m hungry, Bogul Bogul is one of my top picks.

Things I go here for: bossam — best in the area cheese buldak — spicy chicken + cheese = obviously delicious Kim cho jjigae — somethin bout their kinchijjigae… Has crack in it or something! Budae jjigae — huge hot pot w a couple of friends mmm! Hits the spot! Things I ordered here and never will again: jjamppong– def not jjamppong ew. Good late night casual hangout/drinking spot with friends. Foods good, at least the ones I listed on my first list above!

The restaurant’s décor definitely reminds me of other small eateries in Seoul. Food was amazing and service is good as well. Docked off one point because it took to long to get my food. I understand it was kinda busy but I was hungry. ^^ would definitely be back!

I swear when I was a kid, all they had was big Korean style hot pot where a whole family came to share. But now, I see some coolio things on the menu such as cheese katsu, korean style fried chicken, bossam, etc. Because my brother wanted to get some bossam, we got the halmae bossam and cheese ddukbokki! I gotta say they were both DELISH!(: the pork halmae bossam went great with the shredded daikon wrapped around the cabbage kimchi. Cheese ddukbokki had nice thick spicy sauce LOADED with the cheese! I guess I have a go to place when I come visit fed again!

I don’t know how this place has over 3 stars. Their service is inconsistent! Some days it’s really bad and other days it’s just a little bad. I came here with a group of people and thank god we were sharing everything cuz we got one dish at a time every 15 – 20 minutes. That is absolutely not okay. Literally the only reason I come here is cuz it’s open late and there’s not that many other Korean food options.

Bogul Bogul = My go to for bossam. The first time I ever came here was with my dad and he introduced me to bossam for the first time. If you’re unfamiliar with what bossam it, it is basically pieces of boiled pork belly that you add«wrap sauce»(which can be sauced up oysters, pickled veggies, etc) to and then wrap it all in newly made kimchi. Ever since my dad introduced me to it, I’ve loved it. Bogul Bogul is the only place I go to for bossam in Federal Way and it never fails to satisfy my bossam craving. The place is great since it’s open so late. If you need late night snacking or are looking for a place to get some Korean drinking on, Bogul Bogul will meet all those needs. The place has seating that is more for 2 – 4 people, but can accommodate bigger parties. It is dim lit inside as well. My favorite thing here is obviously the bossam. I always get the bigger size which can easily feed 2 people but it is made for around 2 – 4 people. The star of the bossam is definitely the freshly made kimchi. Nothing beats that satisfying crunch and freshness of spices. The pieces of pork belly are tender and can be a bit fatty at times. I also like the wrap sauce which is a mixture of pickled veggies smothered in a spicy sauce. I also tried the seafood soondubu because I wanted a nice, hot soup with the meal. It needed to be a bit hotter(like boiling) in my opinion. There is already a freshly cracked egg in the soup when you get it. It was a little on the bland size, but still a satisfying soup. If I was craving only soondubu, I would not get it there. I would go to a tofu house to get my fix. I also ordered the seafood green onion pancake. It is huge and should be shared. It tends to fall apart because there are so many green onions in it, and not enough batter to keep it together. I appreciated all the pieces of little shrimp through out. However, I have had better Korean pancakes before. It was still really comforting to eat this one though. The breading was on the softer side and I usually prefer mine to be crisp. I was craving something on the oily/greasy side though, so this was a good selection. With your meal they will give you the steamed egg in the stone pot. It needs a bit of salt to it so make sure to add some. The banchan is pretty good with your standard selection. They will ask you if you want rice with your meal as well. Service was so-so. The people here are very nice. Don’t worry if you don’t speak Korean, the guy here was speaking to me in a mix of Korean and English since he could see I was with someone who didn’t speak Korean. They don’t come to check up on how you are doing often though. They take your order, bring your food, and then disappear from your site. They do have call buttons next to the tables that you can press if you need them. The two times I pressed it, I only got service once. Price is pretty standard and fair. I ordered a lot of food for just two people and there were a lot of leftovers. Without tip, the total was a bit over $ 50. For a generous portion of bossam and two other comforting entrees, I was really satisfied.

This place has great Korean pub food that you can’t find anywhere else in Washington state. They specialize in braised pork with fresh kimchi, which is a must order. But aside from that, I like their spicy chicken feet, cheese spicy chicken, and homemade makgulli. Their prices and portions are great and the ambiance is relaxing and clean. Great spot!

Came here at 11pm on a Tuesday night. We ordered ddeokbokki and beef bugolgi. Ddeokbokki was definitely the worst I’ve had. They overlooked it and so it was too soft and not chewy enough. Reading reviews on here, they definitely did not give us kimchi(probably because my boyfriend and I aren’t Korean). The server didn’t come back once to refill our water for the 40 minutes we were there, despite a slow night. When we were done with our food, there was no one to give us our check so my boyfriend went up to grab the check and even had to bring it back to pay. Horrible service for average food. There are plenty of other Korean places in Federal Way to take my business to. Hopefully they don’t overcharge our credit card.

I’ve been here many times and I get cheese bul dak or the spicy pork over rice. The service is terrible, but the food is always good.

GREAT food. The chicken will not fail to satisfy and the classic chuh-nyuh-bossam is delicious and filling. My first time and I already know I want to come back. It’s a little dark and loud, but it gives you the Korean nighttime feels so it’s ok.

One of my go-to places for late night Korean food. My friends and I come here often for Korean food, particularly when other Korean restaurants have closed. Our go-to item here is the bossam, which is pork with kimchee. Has the perfect ratio of meat and fat, along with perfectly fermented kimchi, makes a great combination. Today, we also ordered the ddubboki, cheese donkatsu, and kimchi jjigae jungol(which is a larger version of kimchi jjigae). The ddubboki was just typical rice and fish cakes. Good but just similar to other places. I do prefer the cheese ddubboki cause it adds a unique flavor to it. The cheese donkatsu is very good as well. Again, cheese adds a great flavor to the pork and the sauce was very good. A little sweet but pair perfectly with a spoonful of rice. The kimchi jjigae jungol was alright. I’ve had better jjigae and I can make a better one as well. I prefer the doodae jjigae(army soup) jungol more, as it has more flavor in my opinion. Overall, very good place with a lot of variety. Other dishes to try out here is the buldak(spicy chicken — good with cheese as well) and the jjomyun. The jjajangbap is good as well. Service may be slow at time, but it definitely is worth going!

The food here are pretty decent. It isnt mind blowing, but in Federal Way, its probably up there. Service could ve been better though. It seems like they dont care at times, but that didnt really bother me, because i didnt want them to affect my night! The best food I ate was probably the spicy small intestines.

Don’t get chicken wings. Nothing unique, has no flavor. Most IMPORTANTLY, they don’t come with white radish. Sad. Cheese tonkatsu was ok but the cinnamon(maybe their secret seasoning) was too overpowering. The only thing that gave this place a star was the gopchang bokkum. It was good. Service sucks. I guess the bell serves its purpose. I also found it funny how others mention being Korean and non-Korean. At first they thought I was not Korean. They did give me all side dishes with no kimchi. Later when they realized I was Korean the server was like oh sht you’re Korean?! In a Korean expression. Why does that come as a surprise did you f up somewhere? And yes it’s true their billing is off too. The bill was off by couple dollars so no biggy but worth mentioning since there was another person who encountered the over tax weird method they use. Good riddance.

I’ve been to this restaurants so many times because of its good food. Highly recommend Busam(boiled pork with kimchi), Korean seafood pancake, seafood tofu soup and cheese chicken. The kimchi is AMAZING. I don’t like veggie but this tasty makes me keep eating kimchi. And my best friend is 100% Korean and she said this restaurant has been the best Korean restaurant since she came in USA. After eating, you could get some cocoa or coffee from the coffee machine with $ 0.25/cup. I love drinking cocoa after finishing my meal at this place. Such a wonderful time visiting here!

I’ve been wanting to eat at Bogul Bogul for quite some time and finally got a chance to try it when my mom and I were craving something to eat late at night. Bogul Bogul serves delicious Korean bar food. We ordered the bossam(pork with kimchee) and dry chicken wings to share between three people. Along with your order, they serve the typical banchan and provide rice for you to eat, which I hadn’t been expecting. The bossam was awesome. The pork was flavorful, warm, tender, and juicy. The kimchee that came along with it was the perfect accompaniment and was done really well. The chicken wings came out a little later but it was nice that we had some time with the pork without the distraction of the chicken wings. Now that being said, these chicken wings were scrumptious. The wings were perfectly fried. The batter was crispy and crunchy but almost dissolved in your mouth and the meat was tender. I don’t think there was a single table that HADN’T ordered them. One group of guys came in prepared with gloves to handle their chicken wings. Yes, it’s THAT serious. The two dishes were just enough to satiate our late night cravings and we still left home with some leftover wings. We washed it all down with carbonated Makgeolli(rice wine). Kind of a perfect Friday night. I’m craving the food as I write this review, so I’m pretty sure there will be another visit to Bogul Bogul real soon.

Tasty food and nice décor. this place is my sister and brother place cuz any time I ask her where she wants to eat she always says«Bolgu Bolgu» with the cute fake Korean accent that her friend taught her. I dont really remember the name of the dishes we always order, but its like a big plate of boiled pork with lots of kim chi. That one is amazing man! Also, the seafood pan cake here is one of the best we ever had. Hands down the best Korean place down here in FW!

I come here specifically for the bossam(boiled pork belly). It’s very flavorful and comes with great sides. The pork is always seasoned just right and it’s oh so tender. Now you know what to order when you come here.

I’m from out of state. When I came to Bogul Bogul, I wasn’t impressed. It was pretty full when I arrived on Saturday evening with my Korean American friend. We waited a lot longer for our side dishes and orders to come out than it should’ve taken. We scrub it up to ageism. Because we were younger than the average clientele there, we were made to wait longer. I got the dolseot bibimbap. It tasted fine, but my friend’s jjamppong was the opposite of good. The noodles were cooked too long and became too soft and unappetizing. We also got haemul pajun. I always love to get haemul pajun at Korean restaurants, but out of the dozens places I’ve ordered it at, Bogul Bogul skimps on the green onion, and the only seafood in it was octopus. I encourage Bogul Bogul to improve its haemul pajun since it’s many tourists’ go-to Korean food. We’ll always appreciate it in California.

One thing I really enjoy in life is the pairing of alcohol and meat and something spicy. So basically, makgeolli + bossam = perfection on a late cold night. The bossam here won’t wow you. The portion might. The pork wasn’t as soft and juicy as I wanted it to be. However, it wasn’t overly salty like a lot of other places make it. Everything is cozy and laid back. Very enjoyable. The makgeolli, apparently, is made in-house. I don’t have hard evidence of this but it was indeed tastier than your average grocery store level makgeolli. If this place wasn’t so far from me, I’d certainly visit more often. I would love to try their other offerings. Service is fast and friendly. A nice place to hang out and eat with friends late at night. And yeah, the whole area in general is a little«ghetto» some might say. But it kind of adds to the atmosphere, haha. :) Gunbae!
