Well, the final chapter on Bottom Dollar has closed. I am sure by now, most of us know that the chain was sold to Aldi. With this in mind, I went to the location in Feasterville one final time to grab a few things. Upon my arrival, I noticed that the parking lot was packed, which is atypical of this place. Confirming my suspicion, I noticed multiple signs on the door stating that everything inside the store is 50% off. Ah ha! So basically, the vultures came out in full force to pick the bones. By the time I got there(2:30pm), the aisles were pretty much empty as people were stocking up carts — yes I said carts — of food only to wait in long lines. All in all, a lot of associates(2000) will be out of a job in a matter of days. Meanwhile, Food Basics, which is a stone’s throw across the parking lot, seems to be doing okay, even though they are owned by A&P, which has been limping along as well. Only time will tell if an Aldi will replace this location or they will simply sell the lease. With that said, happy shopping and coupon clipping! :)

Lowest price for dozen large eggs in the area. The buttermilk gets rave reviews in my house. Meats are not greatest but generally fresh. There are a few quirky specialty items in the produce which is a good reflection of the diversity in the area. Bring your own bags & sign up for a little card.
