Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

I visited this Hand and Stone location on 12/​30/​2015. I was very pleased overall with my experience. I received a massage and a facial.
The reception area was clean, inviting, yet relaxing. The receptionist (I forget her name) was pleasant and accommodating.
My massage therapist, Dawn, was amazing. She was very professional and checked in with me throughout my massage… asking if the pressure was acceptable, was I comfortable, etc. I added on the cold stone mini face massage and I recommend this service. I felt refreshed and invigorated.
After the massage was complete, Dawn instructed me about dressing procedures and then lead me across the hall for my facial where the esthetician was waiting.
Krista, the esthetician, was also very professional and welcoming. She also walked me through each step of the facial process… cleansing, steam, etc. She answered all my questions and my skin felt fresh and clean.
The only reason I did not give this location 5 stars is because of the excessive communication from the spa. I received two confirmation texts and two confirmation calls within 4 days of my appointment. I also have gotten three emails since Wednesday from the location. I like promotions and occasional mail, but this is too much.
Also, I do wish there was a lounge in the back of the spa to sit and have a cup of tea or water before getting dressed to leave. It would have been nice to bask in the glow.
Overall, I would recommend this Hand and Stone location and I would return again.

I received an advertisement in the mail that a New Hands & Stone Massage was opening near by. Although I am a Hands & Stone virgin myself, a new massage client I am not. The décor was nice, the place was clean and pleasant, but I LITERALLY HAD THE WORST MASSAGE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. I asked a few times for the masseuse, name drop DON, to be firmer… it did not work. I am not a big person, and its not like I like it crazy firm, but it barely felt like I was being touched. At one point I opened my eyes and considered asking him to stop as seriously watching TV on my couch seemed like a better way to spend my time. I did however, get my moneys worth in oil as the dude had no problem slathering me up. The girl at the front desk, Alison, was very nice. I told her that I was unhappy, and she stated that she is not authorized to do anything about the price but provided me a coupon for a free add on service in the future. She diffused the situation nicely and was very helpful. I understand that it just is about finding the right person, but I am not incredibly wealthy and this was supposed to be a treat that went terribly wrong. I will try this place again because I now have a few names of people that are known to be good per the girl at the front desk, but seriously Don, this is not your calling. I seriously never do this, but like… it was that bad.
