I’m only giving this 3 starts to inform everyone that this place has closed for renovations. The lady owner finally decided to pack it up and sell the place. I have no idea if the new owner plans to keep things the same or not. But as others have said, the old man that cooks in the back does magical things with food. The sesame chicken was one of the most delicious dishes in Fayetteville. It’s nothing like you get at a buffet type place. Hopefully the new owners will keep him on staff, clean up the place, and start showing a little hospitality. If the service we to match the food this is a five star place without question. All of the old man’s dishes were so wonderful. I had been eating at this place for well over 25 years.

we have been eating at New China for 30 years. Without question the best Chinese food in Fayetteville. Eat there just once despite the ceiling and the rude chinese lady(if you lived in a chinese restaurant for 40 years you would be grouchy too) and you will be sold too. Best meal — hot spicy beef.

I grew up in Fayetteville lived at Winding Creek Apartments, Let me be the first to say I love the food… Yeah the décor is divey and it looks like a set from a low budget chinese horror film but I don’t care about all that What I want is the Sesame Chicken it’s like little golden sweet nuggets of crack… I’ve lived nationwide for the past 12 Years and there is no taste that can compare to this. Susane the Chinese lady may not have given a fuck since 1963 but she get’s things done.

There are a lot of shaddy places to eat in this world. This place takes the cake. You walk in and the décor is falling apart. The old Chinese lanterns and ceiling tiles are falling apart adorned with Cobb webs. The booth cushions all have tape holding them together and the table top was sticky. I had heard great reviews of the food so here goes. The egg rolls. Crisp outer shell but inside was bland and greasy. The last bite was a big puddle of grease. The roast pork was tasty but a bit greasy and chewy. The egg drop soup had potential but it was basically beef stock thickened with corn starch and egg swirled into it. There wasn’t a lot of flavor in it. Entrees: fried rice, generals chicken, and pepper beef. All of it was bland with no true flavor from the ingredients. The pepper beef had no pepper in it and the green peppers in it weren’t very crisp. The beef, which should be crispy was soggy and chewy. The generals chicken was a bit better but again lacked that true flavorful experience that you get from Chinese cuisine. We asked for medium heat and got no heat at all. The Fried rice was ok. But again the flavor was lacking and instead of using the tasty roast pork, I suspect they used SPAM. Not cool! Overall the dishes left you with a blotted feeling that the Chinese tea didn’t help. To top it all off the fortune cookie was soggy and pliable.

The hospitality is lacking, but the food is good. I ordered to-go and was told 30 min so I went to Harris Teeter to pass the time. It was ready when I came back 25 min later. It smelled so good in my car that I wanted to pull over and eat it on the way! I got roasted pork fried rice, pork lo mein, and sweet n’ sour chicken. The fried rice was fantastic. The lo mein was a tad salty but good. The sweet & sour was just sweet with no sour — almost on the verge of candy. Everything did taste fresh and the chef obviously took care in making each dis Our order came to $ 21 to feed our family of 3 with plenty leftover. Next time I will just get the fried rice with a side of veggies and make a meal out of that because the rice was my favorite part.

Best Chinese food this side of Bejing. I’ve been going since I was a kid and if I can have it my way I’ll be having it when I’m at the old folks home someday!

We walked in and got no pleasant greeting. Instead we got«To go order?» and when I said no and asked if they were closing, the woman said no and turned around and walked off. The mustiness and unpleasant intro encouraged me to turn around and walk out, so I can’t say how the food is. I won’t be back to find out.

Chicken fried rice is what I like — Hits the spot. Laid back no frills«vintage» chinese restaurant. Good food at 90’s pricing.

Cheap and delicious Chinese mom and pop restaurant off the beaten path. The fried rice is amazing and the smells coming out of the kitchen are mouthwatering. This place is rarely busy so the service is quick and the food comes out fast. Definitely a hidden gem in Fayetteville.
