We haven’t eaten here yet but CANNOT wait to check it out! I’m doing a reverse review. I’m not sure if it’s legal but we want to give a plug to our hosts tomorrow night. :) First time in Fayetteville, looking forward to this experience!

I had the legendary Porterhouse, they have a 1.5, 2 and 2.5lbs options. They run out of the 1.5 often and I had to settle for the 2lbs option and it was MASSIVE, but man was it good. I also had to try the tamales(they let me order 3) and it came with a side of chili, was a little let down due to the hype I heard about them. As a side I got the potatoes(mistake, go for the fries) and comes with a side salad and drop biscuits(AMAZING fried biscuits, and with honey, they are legendary) Casual atmosphere, friendly staff.

My brother brought me here for dinner when I came for a visit. He loves the place and I’ve got to say this place had hands down one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. I usually have to have steak sauce and this place doesn’t need it perfectly and cooked The steaks are amazing. The fries are nice thick cut and a golden brown. Plump well seasoned mushroom. The only thing I didn’t care for food wise was the tamales they were alright but I’m from Cali and you can get some of the best tamales in the world there so maybe I’m prejudiced. Yes the food is pricey and comes in enormous portions and the room is small and kitschy but I gotta say it’s well worth the splurge and I highly recommend trying this place at least once in your life.

Great steak place. Can chose from 1.5, 2 and 2.5 lb steaks. Pricey, but worth it. I had the 32 oz ribeye for $ 48. Included fries or new potatoes, small salad and drop biscuits. Come hungry and get well fed! Great setting and great staff. Will be back.

Can’t fault the quality of the steaks or the wait staff service. The thing that ruins it is the owner/manager, Nelson. Rude and inhospitable. I cannot believe this man is in the front of the house when all he does is play computer games – I believe we interrupted his game of Scrabble. He could not be bothered to greet us as we entered or thank us as we exited. He sets the example for the rest of the staff and it is not a good one. Surely for a restaurant where we can easily drop $ 300 on a Tuesday could have a manager who at least pretends to be interested in his customers.

Great service, laid back atmosphere. Steaks cooked to perfection by the weight of your choosing. Generally: 1 pound per person. Tamales are a must. Love to eat them with chili & crackers. Steaks, new potatoes, mushrooms, etc served family style. Soooo much food. Always good. The original in LR was a dive & one of Bill Clinton’s favorites.

Wanted a table for twelve. Owner was very rude. I mean awful rude. Would not set us until all twelve present. One person ordered the sirloin. She did not specify the pounds. Waiter did not ask either. Three pounds of grizzle is what she said. The gumbo and filet was good.

I opted for a salad and shrimp appetizer… I know, I know. it’s a steak place. Figured I could share my husband’s 1.5 lb steak. Salad was«marinated» house salad, boring but fresh. Shrimp were tasty, a little over-done, kinda creole/Cajun style. Husband’s steak, T-bone was great, red new potatoes were great. Served«fried biscuits» with the meal. These are awful and fabulous at the same time. We may or may not go back. Lighting was a little too bright/harsh. Service was mediocre. Husband wanted Tabasco Sauce… after a «hunt» for a bottle, the search was called off. Nary a bottle existed. To be honest the place is not kept real clean.

You don’t have to be a steak lover to love Doe’s! They do have some of the best steak in NWA, but their shrimp comes fried or grilled as a half or whole dozen– a great option if you aren’t feeling ridiculously carnivorous. Great food, I’ve always had kind and helpful service, and the atmosphere is great– a Fayetteville staple.

This is a great place to get the meat sweats. Literally. Seems like the smallest steaks always sell fast here, so don’t come an hour or two before closing, and expect to get a petite filet or a steak under 1lbs at that time. Steaks here average — i’d say 1.5 lbs, and specialize in TBone, Porterhouse, Ribeeye. Its a pretty bare bones type of place, don’t expect fancy sauces, special crusts on your meat. I’d say this place does well with the simplicity of their ingredients. The mushrooms are the best side dish here, and YES — the damn salad is soggy as hell, you could ask for the dressing on the side, but its still wet. Definitely come here hungry.

I’ve eaten here twice while on a business trip. One of my coworkers loves it but it is just okay to me. Maybe he set my expectations too high. The salad that comes with all the steaks is soggy and inedible. The tamales appetizer are okay but can be easily replicated. The only good thing here is the steak. The steaks are REALLY good but they are also rather expensive. I rated Doe’s 3 stars for offering soggy lettuce disguised as a salad and some weak side options. If you are craving a steak then come here and you won’t be disappointed. If you are craving a steak along with a great experience + appetizer and side options, then go elsewhere. Steak rating = 5. Price rating = 3. Appetizer and side options = 1.

If you’re looking for a great steak, this place will serve you one. Several different cuts and sizes to choose from on this simple menu. The sides are just decent, not stealing any attention from the meat. The beer and wine selection nicely compliment the meal.

If you want to spend some money… then you should go here. The tamales on the menu are kind of weird. Unless that’s an Arkansas thing to serve tamales at a steakhouse. The shrimp appetizer was really good, but 6 pieces of shrimp for 10 $? The salad that came with our steak was kind of slimy and gross. The service was great though! When the steak came out… holy moley that thing was huge. My fiancé and I split it and still didn’t finish it. Why not make your steaks a little smaller and not charge 45 $ for one? Just a suggestion. Overall this place is nothing to call home about. Now, the food truck with the ice cream is though… ;)

Awesome environment for a total hole in the wall venue. Great drinks and delicious shrimp appetizer. Had the filet which was impeccably cooked. Amazing service. It’s a staple steak house if you are visiting or live in Fayetteville.

I’m surprised to see the mixed reviews of this place. My first trip to Fayetteville and was looking for a great steak in a casual environment to dine with some business associates. This place was excellent and in a perfect location. I split a two pound steak with a colleague with a side of fries. Steak was perfect. Although they offered sauce, none was needed. Fries were a nice touch. I see a lot of mediocre reviews loved the food, but not the prices. While I agree these are high for a college town, we had four people, apps, drinks and an excellent steak for for $ 200…you’ll never beat that in a major city. This is a great steak joint that is adapted for a college town. The ambiance feels like an SEC downtown restaurant, but the steaks rival some of the best steakhouses in the country. Will definitely be back.

One of the best rib eye steaks in northwest Arkansas. We had the tamales and mushroom and they were the best. We will be back before we leave Arkansas for sure!

Really good steaks, the tamales are very good, service is good but the prices, as expensive as Chicago. 48 dollars for rib. Really good, but we paid over 135 for dinner for two. Good food but ur going to pay.

Just because I’m a fat guy, don’t force me to order a pound and a half steak! Seriously, the portions of steak are ridiculous. I had the shrimp and glad I did. My shrimp were a little overcooked, served with fried bread dough and new potatoes. The potatoes were nothing special, no seasoning that I could tell. Atmosphere is very tacky with dead animal trophies throughout, accompanied by morbid pictures of more dead animals. Track lighting on the ceiling is filthy, but you can overlook it if you just don’t look up. Service was ok.

If you love steak this is the place to go! The smallest steak they have is the filet 8oz and it’s twenty three dollars comes with your choice of homemade fries or boiled red taters and salad. The steak was very much worth the price very tender and seasoned very well. The fries are homemade and very good! The salad has great light dressing and just something to curb your appetite while you wait about thirty mins for a second. Worth the wait! My husband got one of the huge steaks. The t bone 2 pounds I think he said was the best steak ! They served deep fried biscuits which is basically donuts how could you not like that! The only down fall is they don’t have sweet tea! But they still get five! The service and good is great! I want to come back and try the tamales they looked great!
