This place is the place in town for breakfast! Their croissant french toast is to die for! The service is great too! :)

Love love this place. Such tiny place but the food was absolutely tasty and fresh. not only was the food really really good, but also super duper cheap. I loved the stained glass and the atmosphere. A great place for lunch when your visiting West Virginia.

Cute, quirky and cozy café. We sat along the bar. It was pretty full there. Good service and good food. The pumpkin bread pudding really hit the spot. Not overly sweet, just right. Go if your looking for an inexpensive breakfast or lunch.

The food was delicious once we got it… Salmon and dill scrambled eggs for me and salmon bagel for my husband — yum! The atmosphere is mellow and hip. It’s a seat yourself type place. It was just two of us, and the only table left was a large table, fit for 8. We shared the table with another couple there, and after our drinks were served, they split us up into two smaller tables, which was perfectly understandable. I asked for water twice and never got it. Don’t go if you’re starving because you’ll have to wait quite a while for the food to be ready — could be because it was brunch time on a Sunday and it looked like only 2 waitresses were working. Waited in line for about 20 minutes to pay for our food. The girl in front of me was accidentally charged $ 200 and they couldn’t get the credit card machine to fix it. When the girl went back to her group to tell them what happened, the cashier yelled, «No! It hasn’t charged your credit card yet!»… and then it was my turn and a different cashier interrogated us on how everything was. She wouldn’t leave it alone when I said ‘everything tasted great.’ Asking about the service, and I tried to say kindly how it was slow. She pushed on to ask why the service was bad, so finally I said, «it was slow and we never got our waters.»… Yikes. Totally not mellow by the end of the meal. Was such a shame because the food and coffee was so good, but the service really wasn’t. I don’t understand the method of keeping the tickets at the register and having 1 register with a long line to pay. There just didn’t seem to be a method to the madness. Hopefully, things will turn around. Looks like I wasn’t the only one to have a um… unique… experience.

Is the food and coffee good. Yes. And $ 4.20 for eggs, toast and potatoes is a great deal. The space is also really cool, made inside of an old cathedral, awesome windows, lots of seating, a small counter with seating as well. However. That does not excuse the terrible service. We joined a few friends who arrived 10 minutes before us. One was still waiting on milk for her tea. We placed our orders, drinks were brought out, except mine. 15 minutes goes by, I go stand at the counter, hoping to catch a waitress in case they forgot, several times, both servers looked at me and walked right by. After 5 minutes of standing at the counter and calling out to a service who said she would check, I went to sit back down and waited another 10 minutes for them to finally bring out my mocha. That’s ridiculous. All our food came out at once, they messed up the orders of two friends and had to be none too gently coaxed into fixing the issues. Another friend, who had asked when she first arrived for a bread pudding still still not have it after all of us had finished our meal and after asking twice more, it was literally dropped in front of her without a word from the waitress. Simply rude. It may be one of only a few places in town, but next time I visit, I would rather get a gas station breakfast– At least the workers smiled at the Exxon station…

Charming and appealing menu but no food one hour after ordering and still counting and no advance warning — its a non-starter. I see here this happened recently, maybe something has fallen apart here? Owner saw this was one star, apologized before we left. Food WAS good once it arrived. So i cganged to 4. Just sorry didnt get the upfront warning about the kitchen problems.

Loved it! Had the grilled cheese panini — was so good went back the next day and had another! The hummus is made in house, and when the waitress wasn’t happy with the amount given to us, she returned with a second helping. The eclectic feel added to the experience… will be back!

I really enjoyed my experience here. The service was excellent and quick. Once I set down someone came to give me a menu and greet me. The place is beautiful and charming. I enjoyed the nice and quiet atmosphere in this place. After I ordered my breakfast it took less than 5 minutes for my coffee to be served and about 15 minutes for my food. For me 15 minutes for food is normal. The food was delicious and fresh and worth my time.

This place is nice but painfully slow service. I would not come here again. Still waiting for our food and it’s been an hour. We should have gone to Pies and Pints.

Hmmm let me start by the women’s bathroom. Toilet is broken, but you have a courtesy plunger on hand. The wait to be served and a server to ask for your order is about 30 minutes, and it’s not even packed. Let’s see food is about 60 minutes wait time for a simple panini or sandwich. So here I asked for a fresh ginger carrot juice with echinacea and vitamin pack because I was sick. They bring my juice 20 minutes later and say ‘oh did they tell u we were out of echinacea?’. My reaction is hell no, that was the whole purpose of the drink. Bad service, slow service I’ll pass.

A very cool place for breakfast. Has that hip, eclectic coffee house feel, with the stained glass adding a nice touch. The sweet potato pancakes are superior; a plate sized disc with crispy edges, and a spongy center perfect to soak up the syrup. Very tasty with the bits of sweet potato throughout to add some nice contrast. Had it with very nicely prepared scrambled eggs and a nice portion of cubed potatoes. This is the place to go when you want to support a local business that does a great job of delivering the goods.

I want to like this place more. It has a gem appearance, with quaint decorations and books galore. Both times I’ve been here the food had been pretty good, when we finally got it. It wasn’t busy either time I’ve gone, but it takes forever for a server to get to you and even longer for the food to come out. When we were done eating, we sat for a while(watching our server stand around doing nothing) before going to the register to pay. According to my friend who frequents Fayetteville, sometimes they bring the check and sometimes you go up. I wish there was consistency in this, and there was a notice that going up to pay is expected.

Fantastic find! This place should appeal to most people — meat eaters, vegetarians, locals, tourists, etc. The cozy interior with stained glass, shelves of books, and board games makes this a fun place to unwind or to hang out on a rainy day. The restaurant has a large selection of coffee and tea, as well as panini sandwiches and salads. I really liked the Tortellini Chicken Salad, any my BF liked the Roast Beef Brie sandwich. We felt ready to crush climbing routes after our healthy meal! Our service was a bit slow(an hour for lunch on a non-crowded day), but maybe that was a blip.

I’ve heard great things about this place, and the restaurant itself is adorable! I love the thrift shop upstairs, which is great to look at while you’re waiting for a table or for your meal. The menu has quite a few inventive ideas from an avocado smoothie to tropical(coconut + almond + pineapple) pancakes. I ordered the tofu scrambler, which had a delicious description, but the dish was sitting in a pool of chili-flavored oil, and the tofu was not ‘seared’, rather, the pieces of tofu were more like chili-flavored tofu raisins. Maybe I came on a bad day, or I should just learn to order more typical breakfasts. Still planning on giving the Cathedral Café another chance, but I wouldn’t recommend anything with tofu.

This place was food for my soul after nearly a year of Morgantown’s so-so coffee shops. They make their own chai, which is quite good, and can make it with almond milk or soy milk. I only wish they’d had some gluten-free baked goods advertised(maybe they had some, but I saw no notes about it, and was too exhausted after Bridge Day to try asking). As an Austinite who has spent some time in San Marcos, Texas, my heart was warmed by the Wake The Dead Coffeehouse sticker. Actually, they’re pretty similar places, so if you’re from San Marcos and you like Wake The Dead, you’ll probably like Cathedral.

Great place to eat in Fayetteville, but you can’t be in a hurry. We were here for breakfast and it was very crowded. There was a wait for seating. It has a unique atmosphere as it is a former church building. The stain glass windows are beautiful and the interior is a eclectic mix. I especially liked the«tree» made out of books. The menu has a variety of choices. We did have a wait for the food. Then to pay the check, you have to go to the register and tell them at which table you had been sitting. Then they give you your bill. There was a long line as people were ordering takeout in the same line. That why this review is 4 stars. They need to re-think their checkout. All in all though, loved the feel of this place and would go back again next time we are in the area.

This is great place to get some coffee and a bite to eat, or evade the rain while a thunderstorm dumps on your climbing project. We wondered in here on a cold rainy and were extremely happy to find a big open space with hot-coffee and tasty food. This seem to be the local’s knowledge as all the other climbers that were rained out for the day were wandering into. They have free wifi(just ask for the password). So you can look up the latest weather reports or try to gleam for some more beta on your Proj. I order the breakfast burrito and it was very good. I am a breakfast burrito connoisseur and this burrito held its own. They also had several vegan and vegetarian options. Again they have GOODCOFFEE. Go here.

I’ve been coming here, a few times a year now, for about ten years. I like the atmosphere and the food, but it does seem like the service and décor have been sliding down hill as the years go by. The place is for sale and that makes me wonder if the love has kinda left with the desire to sell. I still recommend this place for breakfast. The light coming through the stained glass and high ceiling make for a great space. The food is good and well priced, but ONLY eat here if are in no rush. The service is really, really slow. Which doesn’t really bother me at all, but if you’re trying to get in and get out fast — you can forget it, its not going to happen. I like the breakfast burrito with chorizo!
