This is a good quick eat place. Certainly not for large groups to dine at. Place is small and is actually a Turkish grocery store too. That being said the food is actually delicious… good for take out. The portions are on the small side. Not that pricey… like I said it’s for quick eats…

Very excellent restaurant. I recommend going to this restaurant. What I loved the most was the lamb gyro over rice. The shish kabob was very good too. The rice is buttery making it satisfying.

Really not sure who is getting generous portions, but I guess I certainly ordered the wrong thing. I was getting take out and ordered an entrée thinking it would be more food than the pita. It’s not, but it is almost double the price. The«entrée» just has some bulgur/rice and a tiny wilted lettuce salad soaked with oily dressing in a container. Normally a vegetable and/or some lettuce, onions, tomato would be found to mix with your plate, none of that was here. I ordered the lamb shish kabab with bulgur. Got half bulgur half white rice and a few pieces of overcooked, under seasoned lamb with some very burned pieces. My husband received his with no bulgur at all and just white rice. On the bright side the pide was good. Do not expect much for your money here if you intend on ordering what I did. Perhaps there are far better options on the menu than what I got, but I was really disappointed by quality and quantity.

Farmingville’s best kept secret! Came here here with my wife, we were hungry and cold. Ordered for take out a simple gyro and rice with salad, perfectly cooked and hearty. Home made bread dense and delicioius! Also had the chicken ‘stew’ and lentil soup which was to die for. Good portions, beats fast food any day. Highly highly recommend!

We are staying in the Farmingville area the first time for my son’s fencing tournament. Always rely on Unilocal for good local restaurants when we are in new places … And Konak does not disappoint. Agree with all the positive reviews. What a great little place with super yummy and authentic food … and very reasonably priced. Everything we had are wonderful — beef stew, meatball with mixed vegetable stew, red lentil soup, and even side salad and rice are tasty! Highly recommended! Btw, we are Asian American but don’t feel we stick out :)

This is the best place to eat in the area. Best beef livers i’ve ever had and the stuffed peppers are incredible. Free hot tea is available as well. Kebabs, gyros and lahmacun are available every day but the food in the steamers change daily. For example, one day there might be moussaka, livers, stuffed peppers and chickpea stew, but the next day there might be chicken legs with potatoes, spinach with lamb, lamb shanks and stuffed eggplants. It’s alright though because everything is delicious. Desserts like baklava and rice pudding is also served, and their homemade yogurt is the best. Highly recommended.

Very small, not much seating. Didn’t enjoy my food. I ordered a chicken iskander. The chicken was cut into very tiny pieces, did not have much flavor, and was very watery. I recommend Pasha, on Rt 109. Their food is amazing.

Excellent Turkish food at fair prices. Good for takeout. If you are a group of four or less, you may get lucky and find one of the four tables free. One of our fallback restaurants when we want a tasty meal that will not disappoint.

I love this place! Have been coming here for five years. I’m always amazed with everything that I’ve had here. The owner and staff are friendly. Kofte kebab is great as well as the doner kebab. Can’t wrong with whatever’s in the steam table. Also good for buying Turkish groceries.

I’ve been to MANY Turkish joints/delis/fine restaurants. That being said, this one serves SIMPLYTHEBEST Turkish cuisine I’ve eaten anywhere. I will drive from Huntington to enjoy this food. Way worth the trip! I highly recommend this little place to anyone that wants to experience the best Turkish. Extremely friendly service(Talip, super nice guy) and generous portions! Amazingly tasty food without any extra salt or «chain restaurant» flavor boosters. Just REAL food – done right. Kebabs w/rice and salad… delicious! Hummus… best, period… you have to taste it to believe it! Red Lentil soup… best EVER! And it doesn’t matter what nationality you are, or what color you are! You will love this food and Talip will welcome your business!

Definitely a fan after just one visit. The most useful advice I could give anyone going for the first time is to: a) learn Turkish prior to your visit, b) bring an interpreter, c) be patient with the counter help while you point at what you would like to eat. Communication is the only real negative that I experienced during my visit, but it also added to its charm.(For the record, I did not let the fact that I could not verbally communicate with anyone in this shop affect my review… this review is based solely on the food experience.) Unlike others, I did not find the food to be inexpensive. I ordered some sort of lamb stew. It was more like a ratatouille with lamb… chock full of a great variety of vegetables. The meat was tender and juicy. Not too flavorful in terms of spices used. This dish relied solely on the ingredients being fresh and well prepared. I had it served over rice and the portion was very generous. It came with a side cucumber and tomato salad. All said, it was more than I would typically spend for lunch. Communication might have been an issue, as maybe there is a way to order a smaller, more lunch-like, serving size that would have been priced a bit cheaper. I will return. I was intrigued by the healthy selection of meats in their refrigerated display case. All kinds of pressed ground meats, kabobs and other meaty delicacies. I am pledging to try something new each time I return.

Agree with everything said: food is AWESOME, very little english spoken there, small local restaurant but extremely friendly. Always smiling and really cheap for the amount of food they give you. The only reason why i am giving a 4 stars its because it took me some time to communicate with the guy prepping the food at the counter. So i just pointed around. Lol. If they would speak english I would had asked some questions because I wanted to try other things but didnt know what they were :(

The place looks nondescript, but don’t let the deli-like environment discourage you, because the food is wonderful and packed with vibrant authentic flavors. I was the only non-Turkish person there when I had lunch, but that(and the soccer games in Turkish on the TV) added to the authentic vibe. Free hot tea dispensed at entrance is a nice touch. I had the beyti kebab, ezme, which came with delicious bread and shepherd salad.

I am a employee here but i love eating the same food over and over and over again… The chef and the owner is a great cook. I been to lots of turkish resturants but this is the best in the long island area atleast. Our place is small with 4 table(4 seat each) our lahmacun is number 1. Gyro is great too but usually finishes by 5 – 7 pm. Our turkish pie, lamb shish and chicken shish are great too. Most grill are 9.95 +tax lamb is 10.95. Mix grill is 14.95. Gyro plate is 9.95. Sandwiches are 7.00 or 9.00 depending of what kind. Lahmacun is $ 3 for 1. And turkish pie varries from 8.95 to 11.95. We also have anchovies sometime and other fish. 12.00 +tax on that. And then we have usually 3 different dinners that changes everyday that are usually 9.00+tax. Come and enjoy this awesome food!

Unexpectedly excellent food. It is a market with a side eatery inside(not a formal restaurant). The food is unbelievable as there is constant patronage, thus the food is constantly fresh. Getting gyro/doner is not a guarantee as I was late in this instance and the doner meat was completely gone(done by 5pm evidently). As long as you don’t mind the Turkish soccer channel as the only channel on t.v., it is an unexpected gem in strip mall.

i discovered Konak based on the 2 Unilocal reviews before me! I have to agree with both when they say the food is fresh and full of flavour! based on two outings and trying three separate meat dishes(adana, lamb and tavuk) it is by far the best turkish food in the neighborhood. the prices are very cheap, and you get enough food to take home some leftovers. the owners/cooks are extremely friendly and make the small convenience store front feel very familiar, sort of like eating at a friends kitchen. that being said, if the store opened up its space more, or perhaps they are intending to expand into a full fledged restaurant, they would receive my full support and recommendation to everyone in the suffolk county muslim community.
