TJ Maxx

Not the most expansive selection by any means but this TJ Maxx is in a great location although lately overshadowed by Nordstrom Rack (and obviously West Farms). Still, I walked out earlier with some discounted kitchenware, wrapping paper and even a dress from the clearance section (score!!!). This particular store seems more disorganized than most but as with all the others, entirely hit or miss with merchandise.

This is LITERALLY the smallest TJ Maxx location I’ve ever seen. And with a crappy selection to boot. Everything was messy and disorganized, the salespeople were unprofessional, and lots was just empty. Yuck. I can’t thing of a single reason to ever come back here, so don’t.

I’m surprised at the negative reviews here saying that this place is small. To me, this was on par with the rest of the TJ Maxx stores I have been to. Lots of parking, newer-​ish building, bathroom was clean. I felt like the women’s lingerie section of pretty big compared to what I was used to, and there was a good selection of toddler & infant clothes, toys, and accessories.
The checkout was something odd, though. The person checking me out did not make eye contact with me at all. She was too busy looking over her shoulder trying to have a conversation with two other employees who were standing there, doing nothing. Complaining about how it is so slow in the mornings. Lol what? When I worked retail, I didn’t mind slow times. Anyways, she ignored me so much she DID NOT ASK ME IF I WANTED TO OPEN A TJ MAXX CREDIT CARD. Are you listening, corporate? SHE DID NOT ASK ME IF I WANTED TO OPEN A TJ MAXX CREDIT CARD. I was one happy camper!

Poor customer service, especially when retuning

Is this the biggest TJ Maxx I’ve ever been to? Not by a long shot. In turn, it also does not have as expansive merchandising.
Overall, I still find it to be a fun place to bargain hunt. Being a TJ Maxx, the prices are still very deeply discounted. But because it is a TJ Maxx, merchandise is very hit or miss.
The service is ok. And it is in a good location. I still take my gamble and go here often.

Wow. Small. Me no likey too muchy. I was looking for wall art here and they seem to have a rather small and gender specific type of selection. The selection of clothes was kind of limited too.

Considering this location is near WestFarms, it’s kind of odd that it’s considerably smaller than most of their other stores. However, I will say it’s very clean and the staff is friendly.
I was able to find a Giovanni hair gel here that I had been trying to find for months. That was nice, but then I noticed the food/​cooking section was very small with an extremely limited selection. It’s just hit and miss.

Like any other off-​price retailer, TJ Maxx can be a hit or miss. This location consistently has a beautiful assortment of scarves, sterling silver jewelry, sunglasses and home furnishing. I’ve bought sheets, coffee, mirrors, and cooking utensils there. I normally don’t buy clothes there because they do not have a petite department… and their clothes are cheap… in quality. Their shoe department is great when the shoes have the red clearance sticker on them.
When there’s the Westfarms Mall nearby, don’t waste your time looking for clothes there.

Eh, it’s alright…
The first thing that bears mentioning is that this is a remarkably SMALL Tj Maxx… Most locations I’ve seen are perhaps twice the size… Surprising given the fact that this place is in a strip mall with many empty storefronts. Can’t wait for Nordstrom Rack to open next door… Dare I say it might put this location out of business…
On the good side, they got some good stuff, and quite cheap. My girl and I found these beautiful, slightly damaged decorative mirrors for 10 bucks each. Trust me when I say that 20 bucks and a little super glue was well worth this level of high décor.
Got a nice shirt too for 15 bucks… Some things are overpriced here given the fact that this place is one step up from a thrift store, but if you spend some time, you’ll find the real bargains.

I dropped by to pick up some tights. I swear I go through those things like they are going out of style. If I saved all of my «not so perfect anymore» leggings I bet it would wrap around planet Earth twice.
This particular TJ Maxx has a crappy selection and it seems they operate on a different sale schedule than others. The Southington location started discounting their legware approximately 2 weeks ago. I think since this location is close to the mall, they don’t really have to mark things down.
I bought a few items for my dog. They had a food and water bowl tray for $ 10. That’s way cheaper than what a pet shop would charge.
I saw some kettles but they were still overpriced.
For Hello Kitty fanatics, this store seems to get tons and tons of Hello Kitty items.
