U-Haul Moving & Storage of Farmingdale

They only have two guys working the counter. It took 15 minutes to be helped and these two dudes were taking their sweet ass time, no sense of urgency. None of them said «hey I will be right with you» or «I apologize for the wait»
One of them was vaping. I asked about the military discount and he said «nah we don’t do that here». Which is not true and my wife had to call afterwards to corporate to get it straightened out. There are plenty of people out there that need jobs! These guys are lucky to be employed but they act like they don’t care about anything. Then I get the truck and it has no A/​C! Are u serious? I gotta drive through 4 states in the heat with no AC in a truck that seemed pretty new. How can U-​Haul as a company be OK with no A/​C for their customers?? Very disappointed with my experience there. Then I get to my destination and let them know about traveling with no A/​C and they did NOTHING about it except say «i cant believe they gave out a truck with no A/​C.»
Nothing like «hey I’m sorry about your experience with us and I would like to give you 1) a discount 2) a refund 3) a partial refund 4) next time you use us you will get a discount
5) next time you use us we’ll throw in a free hand truck. What a bunch of crap!
We went there because it was close to home but it is was not worth it just for the convenience. I will never use U-​Haul again!

I was having trailer lighting problems which of course is typically a grounding problem. U-​Haul installed the hitch about 14 yrs ago. Wiring connector was updated about 9 yrs ago for a trailer with brakes.
Ricky made an outstanding effort to troubleshoot my problem and attempt to fix the existing wiring and connector on my van. The patient could not be revived. He then installed a new trailer plug on my van and had me back in business with a good lighting connection. I am very happy with the result and the reasonable price charged.

Absolutely horrible. Called in a reservation in the morning for an F150 and auto transport trailer for Friday through Monday. We travel 2 hours to this location to pick up the equipment with confirmation email in hand, and are informed the reservation shows up as CANCELLED. The sales rep at the counter could NOT offer an explanation and had an equally inexplicable smirk on his face the entire time. This location only had the truck available with NO trailer here or at any location nearby. The reservation was made with the standard uhaul requirements, name, phone, email, credit card and even the make, model and year of the car I was to transport. There were NO attempts made to contact me about this cancellation, and NO help rectifying this complete waste of my time.

Over the last three weeks I have been pawned off by Russell, Mike, Steve, and Josephine. All apparent higher ups in the company who still couldn’t take care of this situation. I left messages, sat on hold countless times, and explained my situation so many times it’s ridiculous. How this company stays a float amazes me. Even threats of calling the better business bureau couldn’t get me a call back. Finally today, a man called me to tell me he is going to process the refund. A 5 minute phone call which took jumping through hoops, and a completely unnecessary amount of time and effort to receive. I will continue to advise as many people as possible to stay far away from these idiots.
