The food was alright. The person who took our order over the phone ended up misunderstanding our order and charging us for double of the amount of food we wanted. I would not recommend take out either. We had the food delivered less than two blocks away and it took well over and hour when they guaranteed it would be there in thirty minutes or less. They packed the bags of food so heavy that some of the food was spilling out of the containers. Definitely not a good first impression.

The worst Pernil and beans I’ve ever had. I’d rather drive the 10 miles to Hempstead for Dominican food. Was super disappointed.

The worst service. I just left after sitting at the counter for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged or the counter cleared. Do not go for lunch you may need more than an hour to get served and eat

It’s pretty cool, very busy around lunch time. You get a good meal for 7 $ so that’s not bad compared to the other restaurants around. You can get salad rice, potatoes, shrimp salad, chicken, fish so it’s pretty much a goo variety if your in the mood for Spanish food. Sometimes it’s so busy it’s hard to get their attention. When they do theirs a few sweet ladies serving you.

Best Dominican food on the island. Huge portions with reasonable prices and great service.

Food was good. 2 star only because of service. We ordered a $ 50 order, nothing extravagant, just lunch for 4 people. It took 2 and ½ hours to be delivered. We called mid way to find out the delay and it was because they ran out of yellow rice. Upon receiving food finally they had forgotten all the garlic sauces that came with the meal and the additional we had asked for. When we called to speak to someone about the delay the man on the phone was very rude. They sent the garlic sauce another 30 minutes later but the food was already cold.

Dominican Restaurant. Decent food, big portions… can’t think of much else to say; check the menu for your faves and try it out. I personally prefer other lunch choices in the area, particularly a Caribbean place with some of the same menu options. The menu seems odd, give it a look and see what I mean.

Steak was good, rice and beans were good, I had a piña colada that was OK… Waitress didn’t speak much English, good thing I was with my Spanish speaking family lol

The food is very very good with large portions. If you dont speak spanish i would recomend take out, some of the wait staff do not speak english and it is very annoying, if not for that i would give 4 stars

Food was ok, been going here for some time and it seemed to change for the worst. Server’s were absolutely horrible. Older blonde lady could care less who was at tables or waiting, but when time to pay she looking for her tip,… very tackie. Owner needs to get a handle on staff before I come back again.

The food here is very tasty when you can properly communicate what you want to the waiter. Which is a challenge being as I don’t speak Spanish. A few separate times I’ve been here they have brought me the wrong food, even when I had a Spanish speaking aunt with me. I did not send the food back because it was still delicious and the service is slow and inattentive so I didn’t want to wait again. I’ve been here for lunch and the amount of food you get for around $ 7 is crazy! All in all I don’t like coming here just because I feel like the communication is too difficult. They do have a little buffet(not sure what you would call it) that you can just order a plate to go. I would definitely do that because pointing to what you want seems to be the best way to go here. I know everyone raves about the pork but I love the chicken here the flavor is unparalleled, even compared to Gallo’s rotisserie chicken.

I have eaten here on a number of occasions and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. Their shrimp mofongo is the best I have ever had. The restaurant itself is clean, I have only been here during the day, so I am not sure how loud it gets at night.

Only place to get a whole fish in the area. Food is great, price is right, service is not terrible, tv/music is horrendous. Only reason why I’m not giving it more stars is because of the horrible novelas/commercials playing full blast in the background. Bad form.

Great place for lunch ! Generous portions and price can’t be beat. My husband and I both had lunch special. Pernil was full of flavor and skin was crispy. Oxtails so tender they were gooey and fell off the bone. Very tasty. We both got arroz con gandules and red beans and salad. Everything was delicious. Service was good. The only thing negative I can say is parking on main st was challenging. Will definitely be back!

Sub-par dominican food. The employees are relatives of the owner & don’t have great experience or customer service skills. Some don’t even speak english. The natural drinks like the carrot juice was gross. The morir sonando drink was too sweet The cuban sandwich was ok. The oven roasted chicken had nice skin but thats about it. The fried pork chunks and fried chicken chunks were over-cooked, dry, and lacked flavor. The pernil was greasy & flavor wasn’t anything special The only thing I like from this place is the mofongo with pork and shrimp. I would def get that from there if im in the mood for it but everything else on the menu I can cook 3x better myself. Oh, and their delivery is horrible. expect to wait more than 1 hour and get cold food.

The food was really really good. The only reason I gave this 3 stars, was the waiter didn’t know ANY english which was super frustrating. Also, when we looked up at the ceiling, we saw some black mold. Totally unappetizing after a delicious meal.

I’m going to average out my review due to the fact that my first time there the food was Excellent. Unfortunately, the last time I was there the food was substandard. The prices are average and the service is horrible both times I ordered take out was told 8th would be ready in 10 minutes and had to wait when I arrived. The first time the wait was almost a half hour and the last time it was 15 minutes while the host answered the phone and ignored me. I will search for a better place.

The best Pernil on Long Island. The delivery took for ever but it was worth the wait.
