You have to try the kitchen sink plate! I assume it’s a combination of all of their meats either from that day or left over from the day before. Either way, the flavor is awesome! The only negative for me was that after my meal my coat picked a strong smoky/oil smell.

I found this place via Unilocal.Since it’s Fargo, I didn’t have high hopes for quality Mexican food, but I am happily impressed. It’s a solid little taqueria. I made the mistake of ordering three tacos with beans and rice. I say mistake because the tacos were so big. Loaded with lots of really fresh ingredients(okay, I didn’t need the black olives — but I understand the illogical demands of local palates), I ordered one spicy chicken taco, one spicy pork taco, and one chorizo taco for fun. All were good, but hands down the chorizo taco was delicious. I would seriously come back for just a couple of those. And the service is really friendly. So, there’s definitely decent Mexican food in Fargo. I’m impressed with this town more and more.

My husband and I have loved this place since they opened but were sadly disappointed during our last visit. We haven’t been here for about a month or so so aren’t sure what changed with management but we got the wet burrito– the salsa verde was watery, the meat wayyyy to salty, they didn’t have their usual mix of salsas, the ice machine was broken, the soda warm… the list goes on. Needless to say, we were VERY disappointed. We won’t be going back here any time soon– money NOT well spent.

Three locations, and all of them are outstanding. Authentic, and delicious with enormous portions. If there’s a line, it’s totally worth the wait.

I got the kitchen sink naked burrito and I could barely eat it. It was so salty I had to throw it out. I personally think chipotle is much better.

I wish I’d gotten the smothered burrito, because my regular one was pretty… regular. The pico de gallo was so spicy that it overpowered all the other flavors, and they really skimped on the guac(my biggest pet peeve). It also could’ve been wrapped more tightly; the tortilla was way too big for the amount of filling. My dad got the barbacoa plate and loved it, though! The place definitely has potential.

Well, I can see why this place has a 5 star rating. We stopped in on our way up to Canada. It’s kinda like Chipotle/Qdoba — build your own burrito — but better. More meat options to choose from. Burritos are huge. We ordered one each of the small and medium burritos. One was spicy chicken, the other the spicy pork. Meat was tender, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Seriously the best tacos in the world. The burritos are a tad on the immense side. Love the staff, love the food, love everything about this place. Two tacos with free chips? Under 6 bucks and your belt is bursting. Highly recommend for lunch or a light dinner. Se habla español también, entonces si estas buscando comida más rápido que mangos, pero todavía quiere que sea auténtica, este es el lugar para ti!!!

Very good food! You get a huge amount of food for a good price. Really nice staff. My family and I have gone numerous times since they’ve opened. *food and service has really gone down. Somehow they managed to goof up a cheese quesadilla? Not going again

Huge Burritos! I can’t speak for anything else, as all I’ve ordered there is the Veggie Burrito. It’s bigger than any of burrito I’ve come across, though. The beans are good and the veggies are fresh. It’s never too busy, so it never takes too long. You get a drink with a large burrito and it’s only around $ 9… Worth it.

Now I see why others recommend the Kitchen Sink. Very tasty and very filling. This is a neat place. You can build your own burrito. All the meat is flavorful and they have a lot to offer for fillings. The salsa was good too. I don’t often give 5 stars but I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about it.

First time trying Romo’s kitchen sink smothered burrito. They have three sizes to choose from, but only large is worth if you want a 16oz soda and chips, since it is included in the price. Be sure to ask for it because they weren’t gonna give it to us until we asked first. Meat was a little salty for me, and having it smothered made it a bit more salty. Chips were delicious and balanced the saltiness of the burrito. The overall flavor of the burrito was good.

Oh my goodness, Romo’s is so good! I ordered a small burrito, and it was more than filling.(This is coming from someone with a bottomless stomach.) I can only imagine how big the large is! The burrito was smothered in salsa verde and queso. I’m not even a queso person, but this queso was bomb. The burrito overall was bursting with flavor, and I am actually salivating right now. Chips and salsa came free. I was really digging that salsa. The space is nice and open and looks clean. It looked better than I was expecting. Screw Chipotle, because everyone in Fargo needs to try this place!

I have been to this location and to Romo’s on Broadway and I just can’t get enough of this place. My husband and I stop here at least once a week: him for the smothered burrito and me for the tacos. Having studied abroad in Mexico I can say the tacos here are the closest I’ve had to the street tacos I loved in Mexico. The meat is delicious and the toppings are fresh. They have different size burritos with the smallest starting at $ 6 or so, and the tacos are $ 2.60 apiece. A great deal and so worth it! If you love Mexican, please try Romo’s!

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m actually looking forward to my next trip to North Dakota. Why? Because I can stop in a get another BFB… big f’ing burrito. My first visit came by accident, on my way home from Grand Forks I took the wrong exit and noticed some restaurants I hadn’t tried. A quick visit to Unilocal!and this place caught my eye — wow… sometimes my luck does work out. Speaking of luck — I saw the guy in front of me order a large burrito. They shouldn’t call it large — it doesn’t describe it. It should come with a refrigerator dolly to help you cart that thing back to your table. It was HUGE. Instead, I ordered a «small» burrito and a taco. Much to my complete dismay I was unable to finish it — it too was huge. Easily Chipotle size but cheaper and WAYBETTER. First, they have an amazing selection of meat — regular and spicy pork, regular and spicy chicken, barbacoa, chorizo and probably some I missed. plus beans and rice. Then the back counter is full of fresh toppings including both fresh and pickled and some amazing guacamole and about 6 different salsas that I could see. Then back to the front counter for topping — jalepeno cheese sauce or a green salsa verde(or both). My brain hurt from all the options but I went with a spicy chicken smothered burrito with queso and salsa verde and a spicy pork taco(which was totally unnecessary but completely worth it — it was a REAL taco!). Top it off with an ice cold Jarritos and I was already planning my next trip. Service was quick and incredibly friendly and the food was amazing. I would drive 100 miles past 50 Chipotles to eat here — it was seriously that good. Especially for the price. Well done Romo! See you again soon.

Fabulous place to get burritos, tacos, nachos, etc. Very similar to Chipotle and Qdoba in the«make your own» burrito approach, but even better because Romo’s is a local business! I chose the«kitchen sink» for my meat, which was deliciously flavorful and juicy. If you want to be extra indulgent and treat yo’self, you can choose to get your burrito«smothered»(with the option of a little smothered, medium smothered, or very smothered) which means that they cover your burrito in this tasty cheesy sauce concoction. Portions are very generous, where a small burrito for $ 6.99 was almost as big as my head(and I have a very big head). The order came with a side of chips and salsa(tomato or pineapple!). I finished 1⁄3 of my burrito and was stuffed. Overall, Romo’s is easy to miss since it’s located in a non-descript strip mall, but highly recommend checking this place out for their fresh ingredients, extremely generous portions, and awesome service.

Staff is very friendly. Huge portions. My husband and I got smothered burritos. They didn’t wow us. The meat was flavored wonderfully but everything together was just kinda underwhelming in flavor. We will be back to try other items on the menu though.

Portions are enormous at Romo’s! The smothered burrito is the best deal in town. Very friendly staff, great food, great prices.

Romo’s Tacos gives you more bang for your buck. Or perhaps I should say, more pow for your peso. Here’s the breakdown: FOOD4⁄5 Stars I had a «small» carnitas burrito — which was not so small — and it was a juicy and flavorful pork experience. There are a handful of salsa/sauce options, none of which are all that hot… but all of which are tasty. Because this is America, you have the option to have your burrito«smothered» in cheese, sour cream, and salsa. All in all, a very good burrito. The price is nice. The free chips, however, had a hint of chemical cleanser flavor. I’ll have to go back and see if they always taste that way. Hopefully not.(How hard is it to make a desirable tortilla chip?) ATMOSHPHERE3⁄5 stars The atmosphere at Romo’s Tacos is nothing to tweet about. Boring, modern strip mall appearance on the outside. Clean but yawn-worthy inside, with earth tones, two TVs, and sparse wall art. Thankfully, they don’t play mariachi music. CUSTOMERSERVICE5⁄5 stars The two employees were courteous and eager, and allowed me to sample the varied salsa options before committing to one. Great smiles! In summary, the burrito was amazing and affordable, the chips were Mr. Clean’s, and the employees deserved their tips. Worth a second trip for the burrito and the value.
