Pros: Very nice staff. Surprising comprehensive hot/cold breakfast included. Although we didn’t use them, it has very nice grounds — lots of nice sitting areas on the lawn and a pool and volleyball net. Short walk to Main Street. Cons: Our room and everything in it was very dated. The air conditioner wasn’t very adjustable, so the room was either warm or freezing, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep.

We just had our family reunion here. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place! The grounds were lovely and there was a lot of space between the buildings. It was quiet at night and the owners and staff left us to our quiet enjoyment of the resort. The employees were all delightful and the morning breakfast/brunch was quite diverse and tasty. There are many reasons why I give this a 5 star rating-the short walk to the beach and downtown; the fabulously comfortable beds(all of us commented); kitchens in a few units; how they accommodated our family reunion with tents, tables and chairs; and many other perks(like getting our Martha’s Vineyard ferry tickets in the hotel office) you won’t be disappointed. Main Street Falmouth is having a resurgence and the shops and restaurants were spectacular. Not a bad meal all week!

I stayed 6⁄22 for the weekend. My family and i were horrified from arriving at a crappy hotel on the other side of town that did not live up to its internet pictures. We called Shoreway desperately trying to find a pet-friendly hotel that would take a party of 6 on a busy summer Friday afternoon for 2 nights. Although they weren’t pet-friendly, the manager heard my story and helped us. She put us up in 2 large rooms at a great rate and charged us extra for the cleaning service of the room with the pets, which we didn’t mind. The hotel included a full hot breakfast buffet(like Hampton inn, but with better service) and both an indoor heated and outdoor clean pools. The hotel also has beautiful landscapes that relax you. I’d definitely return.

Talk about going back in time. This place is stuck in the 60’s. We stayed there the weekend before Memorial Day so it wasn’t crowded, but we got a room without a closet over the laundry. A rolling coat rack was provided. The ironing board subbed for art as it was hung on the wall. Hot as blazes. The dark green carpet was dirty — it is one of the few hotels i’ve stayed in where i kept my shoes on all the time. Breakfast is a steam table affair in a basement. Check out at 11 am required. Resort — please ! This is a old motel.

For the location and accommodations, the price is very reasonable. The inn is around the corner from main street, walking distance to the beach and ferry to Martha’s vineyard. The staff was wonderful and the rooms very neat and had its own eating area with a microwave and refrigerator. Overall, the place was clean, but some areas were a bit dusty and the inn does have an older feel. There is wireless internet, but due to Hurricane Irene, there were a few problems.

Lemme sum up: Very good accommodations, excellent staff, excellent location You want to visit the Cape, but you’re on a budget. Shoreway Acres Inn and Resort offers the best bang for the buck without question. Seriously, where else on Cape are you going to be able to get a sizable room with breakfast nook and a full bath for about $ 90 a night? Hmm? They even have kitchenette suites for those who prefer to cook their own meals. Granted the décor is a little Victorian beachcottage-esque,(Is there such a thing? Well, there is now. Picture cabbage roses meets wainscoting and throw in some sand dollars.), but I’m looking for a bed down that’s within walking distance to the beach, shopping and good food. Shoreway delivers and then some. Did I mention the staff? They are about the genuinely friendliest lot around. If you need extra towels, soaps, whatever… they will run them up straight away. Need recommendations for what to do and can’t get to Unilocal? They’ve got oodles of good advice. Location, location, location doesn’t just pertain to buying a home; Shoreway has a prime spot in Falmouth. You are a short walk to the beach and an even shorter walk to downtown dining, shopping, and music in the park. Need to hit Martha’s Vineyard? Stroll down to the Ferry pick up lot and you’re driven to the Wood’s Hole ferry for a quick boat ride there. Don’t feel like going out? The property itself boasts an indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, and a sprawling lawn for games or just sitting in a swinging chair. There is also a catered brunch and breakfast offered downstairs that, while not too exotic, definitely serves up a respectable bacon, eggs, pancakes, yogurt, etc. A common area above the pool offers a good spot to relax, catch up with friends, or just watch some TV. So if you’re confined to quarters, it’s not such a bad thing. Don’t get me wrong. If you want a quaint, private experience there are no end to the B&Bs in the area, but I find the prices a little steep. If you’re more interested in having a comfortable stay while exploring the Cape without having to drive everywhere to have fun, book a room at Shoreway.

I have to give this place 5 stars, because frankly, it just kept getting better. We drove down on a whim Sunday on Memorial Day Weekend. We don’t usually stay in Falmouth, as Orleans has always been our place at the end of the summer. But we gave it a shot, drove down main street in Falmouth and saw signs for the Shoreway. First things first. Super nice people who work there. Genuinely friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and sweet. The grounds are awesome. Great big lawn for the kids to play. Swings, badmitten or volley nets. Nicely landscaped. Great indoor and outdoor pool. Full complimentary sitdown breakfast buffett(l’m not much on buffets, but the kids loved it). A room with two queen beds for $ 109. a night. Unbelievable. And, a short walk to downtown or the beach. Right on the bike trail. We will definitely be back.

This place is a gem. It’s a remnant of a time when whole families truly«summered» on the cape. The grounds are immaculate and punctuated by gazebos and patio tables. The resort features saunas and and indoor pool, great for all seasons as well as an outdoor pool. My attention was first drawn to this place on the fourth of July when I saw a Martha Stewart type celebration taking place on the lawn. Complete with red, white and blue swags, games and holiday dresses. The main office has lawn games for rent, badminton, croquet, beanbag toss. A Sunday night rate was reasonable, a ‘petite’ room was pretty much standard. The place is within walking distance to both the beach and Falmouth Center. Complimentary breakfast buffet is included with your stay. I’d love to visit for seasons to come.
