Last minute decision to try this always busy place. Saturday night at 7:00. The bar was full, but we were able to score about the last available table. You need a reservation even in January. Good wine list and not too pricey. Clams casino were excellent. Lamb shank w/risotto was really good. Too good not to finish it, so I did. Penne ala vodka was equally as good, with some to take home. We could not think about dessert. Service was excellent. They offer many specials, so there’s something for everybody. Older crowd, maybe 50’s? It’s always busy here(year round) because of the great food, service, and honest prices.

I visited around Thanksgiving time and I was glad there was several restaurant options to choose from while we stayed in Falmouth. We came for dinner here one of the nights. Clam appetizer was just okay. I guess that our fault for reading the description wrong. It just wasn’t what we expected. The Chicken Liver Pasta was huge. It came out in the skillet. I thought I ate quite a bit but I still had a lot leftover. I loved it(but I also love liver, so some people might like it as much as I did). Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken was a huge portion but definitely not as flavorful as my dish.

Last night we visited this restaurant for the first time and have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The ambiance at this restaurant was great and the staff was incredible. We started our meal with an order of fried calamari and oysters on a half shell. At first we were thrown off by the cost of the appetizers but after eating our apps, we quickly had no reservations. The serving size was massive and it was the best calamari we have had in a while. When it came to the main entrees my wife got fettucini alfredo and I got meat lasagna. Again, both of the portion sizes were massive and the quality was phenomenal. We ended up taking a few bites out of our meal and packing up the rest. We walked out of the restaurant as if we had taken a full meal to go. Overall we loved the experience here and really enjoyed the staff. From the waiter to the busboy everyone was incredibly pleasant which made our dining experience that much better.

This was a disappointing dinner. We ordered the calamari and it tasted like they had microwaved frozen fried calamari and tried to disguise it by serving a giant portion of it with spicy red sauce. I ordered the sweet potato-encrusted scrod and it was a giant portion of fish that tasted as if it had been microwaved. «Sweet potato-encrusted» meant a soggy, brown layer-I found my meal unpalatable. My husband ordered the saltimbocca and it had a sweet aftertaste(perhaps they used cheap cooking wine that hadn’t cooked off) and the angel hair pasta tasted out of a box. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, since they were packed, and perhaps should have asked the waitress for recommendations. The other reviewers and other patrons seem to have enjoyed their piccante and beef dishes.

We’ve been here over ten times in the past, but it’s been a couple of years since our last visit to Falmouth. We were surprised to see that they had expanded into the space next door. It seems as if they took on more than they could handle because the service and the quality of the food have taken a bit of a drop since our last visit. Our server was charming when he checked on us, but he was inattentive for the most part. He also took my dirty utensils off my salad plate and put them on the table for me to re-use for my entrée.(If I wanted to re-use them, I would have done that myself!) There are so many other great restaurants in Falmouth that we may not return.

This is a very nice restaurant on the main street of Falmouth. I sat at the spacious big bar with high ceiling, all the staff were friendly. Very comfortable feel. Minestrone soup was good with lots of carrots. Bread was excellent. They serve a generous portion of lamb shank with risotto. The risotto texture was wonderful, with a rich flavoring of cheese. I had to try the chocolate cake when they mentioned their in-house pastry chef. That too was a very generous serving. Alas the coffee was only lukewarm. Italian restaurants are very competitive. La Cucina servings are generous. To me the taste is a wee bit above average. Service is friendly and casual. It seems to be popular with local customers.

Superb wine and drink. I ordered the salad special with lobster ravioli. I had a food allergy and the waitress took my concern very seriously and offered to substitute scallops for shrimp(which I wasn’t expecting) which was great. The waitress Tina was very professional and knew every little detail about the menu and answered every question we had. She was fantastic! The service was fast and our every need was catered to. The place itself is a very cozy, romantic place, and I will defiantly be back here again!!!

Tourist Trap. Don’t listen to the rave reviews, I did, ended up here and was soooooo disappointed. The food was so heavy and the flavors overpowered one another. It was hardly in the spirit of real Italian food because it was not fresh — the tomato in my tomato and mozzarella salad was pale and tasteless, and this was in August.

Three of us stopped in for a mid-shopping lunch in Falmouth Center. It was a rainy cape cod day and we remarked to hostess that AC was on too cold a temp. It was immediately adjusted and we were very comfortable. It was just supposed to be a quick lunch while out shopping the boutiques. We didn’t particularly expect to have a fabulous meal, but that’s exactly what all three of us got. I ordered Schrod al Limone on angel hair pasta. The fish was twice the size portion I would expect at lunch and it was prepared to perfection! Buried in caper and lemon sauce. The side order of spinach was tasty and perfectly cooked. The young waiter was excellent and pleasant. I will make Cucina sul Mare a frequent stop when I’m in Falmouth.

My husband and I came here after a weekend at the Vineyard, and we were not disappointed. I had the sweet potato encrusted scrod, and he had the prime rib(special of the day). Both meals were absolutely amazing. The rib had this almost butteriness in regards to texture, which was so delicious. I had a couple house margaritas, very well made. Not sure what my husband had to drink, he just told the bartender EJ(?) to make him something refreshing. It seemed like a spicy watermelon martini, but I’m not sure.(both gentlemen who were working the bar were delightful by the way) To finish, this place was amazing. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

Best Italian in the cape and maybe even boston too. Owner is a family lady with kids who work in the restaurant. Food is high quality and made with love. Highly recommend the piccata and veal parm!

Good food. Big portions. Dainty setting. On the pricier side. Experience was just okay for me. I might be or might not be back.

Tried the short rib with risotto. Seriously one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The creaminess of the risotto and tomato sauce and the tenderness of the ribs combined with the zest of the marinated peppers took this to another level. The atmosphere was nice too, not overbearing in terms of noise. If I had to nitpick it would be on the free bread. Overall much better than dishes in the North End in Boston.

The shrimp and scallop piccata was very good. The bread and whipped garlic was very good as well. Everyone at the table was happy with their meal

The best meal in a long time. Make sure to order the Zuppa de pesce. Superb and so filling, recommend sharing! The others at my table ordered Veal parmigiana veal Milanese which were both solid.

We arrived early, about 6, and were pleased to find seats at the bar. We asked for a drink Menu, and instead had the wonderful experience of a talented bartender who could ask what I liked and make a delicious cocktail. She made it perfect and it continued from there. Excellent service was just the beginning! Hubble had the swordfish, which was delicious and cooked perfectly. Only to be topped by my ribeye, cooked a perfect medium rare. Delicious and beautifully plated. Though the restaurant got very busy, the service continued to be excellent with the servers working together as a team! Great job and marvelous food: we will be back.

Short version. Food: 5 stars. Service: 0 stars Details: It was a busy summer night so we called ahead and the hostess was very friendly on the phone and put us on the list for call-ahead seating. By the time we arrived, we were seated even though two in our party were not there yet. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The calamari was excellent though putting it on top of the sauce(which was delicious) made about half of the calamari soggy. We got a salad from the list of specials with edible flowers, goat cheese, nuts etc. It was huge — it serves 4 — and very good, but there were only two edible flowers for the whole salad. The problems with the service started here. We asked our server, Patricia, to set aside a couple desserts because we’d had them before and they are a big reason we came back. She acted like this was a strange request and said she couldn’t promise they would still be available by the time we finished. I’ve never encountered this before. It seems like a simple request. Three people in our party had to ask about this before she agreed. Our entrees came, and they were all delicious. I had the scallop and shrimp picatta which was great. By the time we finished our entrees we had the feeling they wanted us to leave to free our table. Our server came with the dessert menus and made an odd, rude comment. We got the crème brûlée(delicious but could’ve had more vanilla) and tiramisu which was excellent. Two of our party also ordered espresso. Our server brought the check and we were still eating our desserts and drinking coffee. She came back to check to see if we had put the money in the billfold and basically said she wanted us to leave because they needed the table. The food was so good, the ambience is nice(though it can get loud at times), but because of the poor, rushed service I’m not sure if we’ll go back. This is sad because it is some of the best Italian food I’ve had on the Cape.

We were there for dinner and it was busy but tables were opening up. We were seated in the dining room where the band was playing. Our order was taken and wine served. Their Calamari was okay — had to eat quickly before the fried batter got soggy. We had a late lunch and so decided to split the Veal Marsala, which was excellent. Service was spotty; our waitress was distracted by a gentleman at another table.
