The only thing going right for this place is the location. It took us over 3 hours to have dinner on a not busy Wednesday night. When our wine and water glasses were empty they just removed them instead of asking us if we wanted more drinks or refilling out water. Everything had one taste, butter. There are few restaurants I promise myself I won’t come back to, but this place is now on the list. The service is bad. The food is bad. The view is good.

Steamers had tons of dirt on and in them, very poor job of preparing those correctly. Lobster left a lot to be desired, didn’t seem too fresh. Way overpriced for this poor food quality. Good view of the pier, but maybe just walk it instead and save yourself the exorbitant about of money you’ll waste here.

Came here for dinner with two friends my first night at Falmouth! I had the steak while one friend got the baked scallops and another got a special of sorts with a steak medallion and grilled seafood combo. We got fresh oysters as a starter and they were extremely fresh! Will definitely be back the next time I’m back in the area!

Great drinks and have incredibly fresh oysters. Those were the only two things I have ordered here, but the service is fast, the place has multiple seating choices, and it has a great vibe to it.

We were there recently for a large engagement and I will agree with most of the recent reviews here. The location… first rate; the food… mediocre at best; the service… absolutely the worst I have ever experienced(for a wedding) This place may be fine for a family dinner but for a wedding, it left MUCH to be desired. The upstairs space is not configured well to host a wedding. The tables for the guests were arranged in sort of an «L» shape so if you were on one end, you needed to walk around the corner to get toward the dance floor. From where we were sitting, we didn’t even hear the music. Service…the folks waiting the table were not very attentive as you would normally expect from a wedding. Other than serving food courses, they mainly stayed in a group chatting among themselves. Again… not conducive to a service oriented wedding experience. I don’t blame them. I think its just that they are not as experienced with weddings as they are in the restaurant downstairs. The Food… wow. appetizers were scant but tasty. The Lobster, although an overwhelming choice at my table was the wrong choice for me. Stuffed mainly with bread crumbs(didn’t taste any crabmeat), it was baked beyond dry. There was absolutely no moisture retained. Imagine that. Good thing I had a full glass of water. Bottom line. If I could give separate ratings, I would definitely rate the location as a 5 star; food as a 3 star; and service as a 1 or 2 star. It may be because they are not well versed in wedding events but excel tremendously at normal dinner reservations? I don’t know, but I can honestly say that the reception part of the wedding was not worth whatever the bride and groom’s family paid.

I am BEYOND disappointed with my experience at The Flying Bridge. I was with a party of FIFTEENPEOPLE at 8ATNIGHT. From start to finish, we encountered POORSERVICE. 1) we were told that we would have an hour wait; so we got drinks at the bar and checked in with the host after 60 minutes. when we asked the host how much longer it would be, he rudely responded«I DON’T KNOW» 2) as a member of a large party, it is not unusual to be split into 2 tables. however, we had TWOSERVERSWHODIDNOTWORKTOGETHER to serve us. That meant that appetizers, bread, and MEALSCAMEOUTATDIFFERENTTIMES for both tables 3) seeing as it was so late for dinner, we weren’t surprised that many of their specials had sold out for the evening. when a party member ASKEDFORFISHOVER A BEDOFSPAGHETTI, she was told by our waiter and the manager that this restaurant ISTOOBUSYTOMAKEANYSPECIALMEALS… it was 10pm when we received our meals and we were surrounded by empty tables. needless to say, we are very disappointed, and we will not recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Big place with nice views on the harbor. Service was good, but unfortunately the food was just average. Crab cakes were small and did not have a lot of taste. Fish & Chips were okay, but nothing special. No beer on draught, only bottles.

If you like good food and great service, avoid this restaurant. Took a while to order and get some water, the place was jammed(with a ton of very loud young kids all over the place, there were NINE kids at the table behind us alone!) which was fine. Raw clams and oysters were extra salty and I couldn’t get past the saltiness to enjoy their flavor which was a bummer to start off with. They had just run out of the bass special, but instead of an «I’m so sorry we’ve run out, you may want to try X, Y or Z» it was just, «We ran out, no more bass». Okayyyy. Had the blackened red snapper from Costa Rica, ironic as we came to Cape Cod to enjoy local seafood. The red snapper was ok, nothing special, not bad, just ok. My boyfriend had a seafood sampler that was also okay, but swimming in butter and not very flavorful. The chocolate lava cake was the best part of the meal. On our way out, the manager or host was too busy checking his phone to say thanks or have a good night, and you know what? They don’t have to here. It’s not place of exceptional customer service, being on the marina guarantees they will pack their tables night after night. It seems like quantity and turning over tables is key here. A little disappointed our 1st night here, will be sure to read the Unilocal reviews before picking our restaurant for tomorrow night!

Went July 30th for dinner, staff not the least bit pleasant, the place was empty yet we felt ignored??? The food was terrible and way over priced for what you got. Run and run fast away if anyone suggest this place. Falmouth has too many good restaurants with just as good if not better views.

If it wasn’t for the location this place would go belly up. Food I average, at best. Service is horrific. I’ve been twice, the first time I thought maybe I had a bad experience, not so. The wait staff is mostly people from the islands, I assume they hire them for the island feel but they are rude, slow and mess up pretty much every order. Not worth the view.

You can’t beat the views at The Flying Bridge but someone needs to remind some of staff that they work at this waterfront establishment that they are in the hospitality business. The negative experience started as soon as we walked in the door and were greeted by two hostesses. Neither was overly friendly but one was downright rude. When I asked if we needed to be seated at the bar tables she rolled her eyes. snarled her lip and said very rudely, «Yeah. we seat people.» We were seated in a corner by the deck which happened to be a service area where the waitstaff congregates. Perhaps it was our fault as we had originally been seated outside and the cool breeze was too much and asked to be moved. There was a lot of commotion and given that it was before the dinner rush, a table in a less hectic spot could have been found. We ordered the onions rings. Most diners do. The Flying Bridge is famous for them and we have had them numerous times. Something was different. The coating was hard and bland. We asked the waitress if the recipe had changed and she said it had not. Throughout the meal the rude hostess passed our table numerous times and her demeanor with other patrons was not much better. Our meals were good but the encounter with the hostess. lousy table and onion rings made this a poor experience. I will take blame for the table as we could have asked to be moved again but the rest will make us rethink dining at The Flying Bridge again anytime soon.

WOWDEALYFOODDONOTGO! Check out the fobs cooking your food hanging outside to the left of the restaurant. Service is ok, nothing to kick or scream about, your borderline terrible with a friendly smile. Bill for four people $ 187 plus tip. But anyway the point, my boyfriend ordered a steamed lobster dish, with steamed clams and mussels. The clams, little neck, still had beards on them. AND! HEGOTFOODPOISING!!! So the«cooks» «cooked»(steamed) dead clams and/or mussels and/or lobster!!! Which can be DEADLY. Not to mention ALL of our baked seafood dishes were from frozen seafood, and so were the steamed vegetables, expensive, disgusting, deadly. Good reviews of Cape Cod to come, but figured I’d do this first.

I was surprised at how big this place was! We sat on the porch — paper napkins and plastic patio furniture. We had steamers which were great and served with everything needed to enjoy. The baked stuffed lobster was disappointing. The lobster was left in the shell and then some plain, non-seafood stuffing was piled on top. 2 whole shrimp and 2 whole scallops were added as well. The stuffing was way too rich and took away from the seafood. The pro is that it was a lot of food!

I’m so shocked by the bad reviews on here because I came here last year and again this year and both experiences were equally pleasant and all around excellent. Yes, there is a wait if you aren’t there by 5 pm, but the rest of the Cape is just as busy or even worse. Our server Ryan was very attentive and friendly. They have an awesome drink menu for a 20-something like me. The food came out quickly. I come from NYC, where I believe is the home of some of the best restaurants, and their seared tuna was absolutely amazing. The best I’ve ever had, hands down. I also had the filet mignon another night, and it was cooked to perfection and a decent size for the price. And you must order the onion rings, it was sooooo good. I definitely can’t find them cooked like that in NYC! Really good place, and definitely will be back on my yearly trips to the Cape!

In general, the Flying Bridge is okay. The location is by far the best attribute of the restaurant. We sat out on the deck with a beautiful view of the harbor and watched as boats and the Island Queen ferry floated by peacefully. We had grilled fish — swordfish and salmon — and both were seasoned well and cooked just right(no part was raw but the flesh was tender and moist). The new potatoes were over cooked and the veg was undercooked. The restaurant just felt like it has been around for decades. The menu could use a polish and the interior/furniture is a little tired and outdated. But maybe that’s part of it’s character. We were there during main dinner hours and the place was not even near half full. All that said, we would go again for that view!

I have been to the flying bridge twice over the past year and had great experiences both times. The first was for a cousins wedding last summer, and then again for dinner one night this September before heading off to Nantucket for the week. We received a gift card from a hotel we stayed at during the wedding due to bad service we received. I do admit I was skeptical — but was pleasantly surprised. We were sat outside on the deck the evening we went for dinner — there is no denying what a beautiful view they have of the water and surrounding boats. It was very relaxing. Our server was wonderful — he was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. My husband and I split the lobster queso to start and it was amazing. There was plenty of cheese oozing out if it, it was hot, and server with real chunks of lobster. I couldn’t be happier. For dinner I had the best shrimp scampi of my life! Four jumbo fresh shrimp that were fresh and loaded with flavor — not an easy task with shrimp. The past was cooked perfectly and the seasonings were perfect! If I could have this dish right now I would! My husband finished off his meal with a local ice cream that was magnificent. I cannot wait to come back here again for dinner. My only wish would be a revamp of the bathrooms — they were out dated and not well cared for the evening we went in. A face lift and some attention would be welcome.
